Thank you very helpful! I'm making my daughter's wedding cake I have the dowels and cake cardboard. However, haven't seen done this way without plastic plate to have dowels to connect with. I'm trying your way!
Your cakes look Incredible I have never been able to do fondant quite that smooth. But one thing that I did was stacking. Instead of cardboard, I used a rather large sugar cookie. Here’s the trick you need to add a little bit more sugar to the recipe I’d say about a quarter of a cup to make the cookie a little bit firmer cookies get soggy and you would have to do the stacking before serving but it’s still such an amazing trick because then it makes the whole cake edible, and instead of straw dowels, I would use Pretzel sticks

You should make a templet out of plastic with that bend in it, so you can wash it and use over and over again. And put a patent on it!.. That's a very good invention for people who are baking for a hobby or for bakery's. I bet this is something you can sell on the big market for sure.
Make sure there are also thicker dowels running through all 3 tiers for transport I've had cakes that have fallen over during transport without dowels running through the entire cake
Sorry to hear that’s happened! I’ve never used a middle dowel and never had an issue in 8 years but I do use a Cake Safe to keep the cake from moving around.
@@confectionsbycrystaldoesn't the cake safe have a rod that goes thru the middle of the entire cake and braces into the top and bottom of the cake safe itself? I thought that was how the cake safe is designed to keep cakes from moving any. But I could be mistaken. ❤
@@rikkisnipes4180 Yes, it does. I only use the rod if the cake is 4 tiers or I’m traveling far (over 30 mins). I find having it in the cake safe box keeps it pretty secure already. I make sure the cake board is the same width as the inside of the cake safe so it doesn’t slide.
Mine usually baked rounded but I torte them (cut off the top). You can use the cloth strips that wrap around the pans to help them bake flat. I just make way too many cakes to bother using them, but they do work well!
I always thought using a smaller cake board wouldn't give enough structure and the cake would collapse. 😮 (I'm mostly self taught 😅) Thanks for the tip! 😊
Uhh but if you have an 8 inch cake and an 8 inch cake board, the frosting thickness will cover the board peaking thru. It’s harder to carry the cake as you struggled with when the board is that much smaller.
Youre right! It also appears to be plain thick cardboard as opposed to an actual cake board, which will just soak up moisture & go horribly soggy & mushy if left overnight. Not something I’d recommend but different things work for different pros I suppose
The only thing I never really liked it boba tea straws they're not strong enough I seen so many cake broke apart because the plastic straws can even whole the tip teir
The stress I had while that cake was on its side in a single hand 😆
Same lol
Yeah its a really tenses cake 😂
That would have dropped with me if I held the cake like that.
She's a boss
Thanks for the tip and I hope your baking and RUclips career do great things for you
Thank you for the kind words!!
That's an amazing tip. But it's to bad to trow away that board you use.
@@ingridjager3613what the hell are you talking about. 🤦♀️🤷♀️ You KEEP the one with the bend for next time you need it. ☠️🤦♀️🤷♀️
Finally a video that answered my board problem for tiers. Thank you 😭
Oooh the bend in the cake board is genius!
Wow....ok im not even a baker like that but I now have the urge to go bake a 3 layer cake.
Great tip! I've never seen that done.
allot of bakers do that. probably this is the first baker you see
I really like how you GENTLY lowered the top tier!
Wow, this was insanely helpful. Thank you!
Your so underrated!
*You're
I'm floored! I never thought of doing this. I like this idea. Thanks for sharing!!
This is gold!!!!!! Thank you!!!
One of the most hygienic cake construction videos I’ve come across.. thank you!
Very helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! God bless! ❤
Thank you for saying actual steps to do the work instead of people showing you a 30 sec video and make me feel bad for not having a perfect cake 😂
Not a Baker but still enjoy your videos
Thank you for the tip
the frosting is so fluffy
I love this it will help me do a better job next time i had stress last time I did the last one.

I was just thinking that! Lol
Yeah I’d have got an arse kicking for that strand of hair. Hair nets at all times! This is why home bakers worry me 😂
I was wondering if she left any hair on the cake for whoever ordered it. So gross
Omg it was driving me crazy watching her hair all over the top of that cake! Not cool, she seems like a nice lady, but come on!!
I was fixated on that tape rather than the hair, which usually drives me nuts
Wow thank you I will now try this method 🙃
Great Idea!
😮 LOVELY
Bravo 👏 I like to wrap mine in Saran Wrap so the board don’t get all soft
Smart idea
Thanks for some tips dear❤
This is extremely helpful. Thank you.
Amazing tip thanks
You are amazing ❤️

Love the Technics .what size cake was the bottom?

Thank you for posting btw reminded me of giant marshmallows 😆

a very useful tips for me...thank youuu...
Amazing
Love the tip, thanks baker
Do you have tips on baking your cakes so nice and flat?

Are there straws in the middle layer as well?
Lovely
Looks very professional
Were your cakes chilled? Just wondering why they were in clear wrap
Nice!!! Thank you
That is a REALLY big cake!
Thank you madam❤
I trim off about a 1/4 inch 😊
Do you need to use dowels? I love this idea❤ ty for the share🤗
Yes, I use support dowels. No middle dowel though.
This is genius heck.
Intelligent job
It's 0 fail when frozen the cake when stacking ... but after thawing..it will have many troubles.. bulges...etc.
Yes I don’t freeze, just chill. Frozen can add more problems.

@@blueribenaberry exactly!
What about cakes where you use royal icing
How do you keep from the fondant pressing in when you handle the cake ? Like leaving dents in it?
It’s chilled and I try to hold it gently and transfer quickly. Also keep the room cool too!
What do u use to make the cake stay moist?
Why do the layers of frosting have to be so thick?
So there is adhesive underneath the cake people will ingest?
Tnks ❤
The only thing I never really liked it boba tea straws they're not strong enough I seen so many cake broke apart because the plastic straws can even whole the tip teir
How do you hold the cake like that? whenever I do that my hand prints, go in and all the frosting squeezes out
Hey! What brand of paper towels do you use?
Great tricks from a beautiful lady yummy 😋
Question; why did the cake board that you bent (and I’m assuming was discarded?) get covered with the fancy foil?
It comes that way.
@@confectionsbycrystal gotcha! Thank you 😊
I hope the icing is made from good ingredients…
That’s clever.
What happens to the plate inside when cutting the cake?
I see a big "oops, cake on floor" in my world.
She looks just like Angela Kinsey
What if the cake has frosting?
whats the height of the 8 inch tier
Nice, will it work with butter cream covered cake
Nice!!!
Is the bottom a 10 or 12in?
Why not use a cake drum the same size of the cake being used?
I didn’t know they put cardboard underneath the cake tiers 😭 learn something new everyday
She sounds so much like mimo
