An Interview with Voddie Baucham on Youth Ministry

The church is experiencing a massive departure from the youth. I have children, two of whom are grown people, and although I took them to church throughout their lives, they currently don't attend church. My boys are lovely young men who have been ministered to by amazing men; nevertheless, they attend church by request because they love their mom. This keeps me on my knees.
In seeking to understand the issue better, I found this video where Voddie Baucham explains the problem with youth ministry as a whole. This is not an attack on the church but a call to parents. I wrongly believed that it was the church's job to catechize (instruct in the principles of Christianity) my children. When the truth is, it is the job of the parents.
To parents with children of all ages, I give hope! If your children are young, start now! We have it with our doll! If they are grown people, PRAY- and evangelize at every opportunity. Invite them to church, send scripture and sermons, read your Bibles, be Christians before them, live out the Word you want planted in their hearts, and then smuggle the gospel into every conversation. "Be shrewd as a serpent, yet innocent as a dove." Matthew 10:16
