@@PaigeHandmade WOW thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I was great to see you use a patterned fabric to demonstrate which sides you fold in to make the miter corner I have been so confused with plain fabric but seeing the pattern has really helped me. Many thanks Jo x
Wow Ms Paige! You knocked it out of the park with those corners! No more trying to hold it all together, and the fact that the seams are .5" is a Lot better than 3/8"! Blessings to you!
Wasted a lot of time and fabric trying other techniques for mitered napkins that I saw on RUclips. This is by far the clearest, fastest, easiest I have found. I subscribed!
Paige thank you for making this no nonsense, easy to follow tutorial. Like SAL I have watched a number of them & quite honestly I think some people just love the sound of their own voices and waffle on. It’s like, cut to the chase already!!!! Once again, thank you!
Brand new to sewing so I'm constantly looking for easy but useful projects. This is by FAR the clearest & simple video I've watched on mitered corners. Can't wait to see your other videos. You have a new Subscriber!!
I’ve watched dozens of these videos. Some are just ridiculous, some overly complicated. This one is the best and it is going to save me multiple steps. Thank you 💜💜
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I followed along with you, step by step on my iPad by my sewing machine and couldn’t believe how easy you made it. Mitered corners turned out perfect.
Best tutorial on making napkins with mitered corners I have watched. You explain things in an easy and slow manner to easily be understood and give confidence to go make napkins. Also, your manner in presentation is very professional.
Oh My Gosh! I can actually do this! You have made it so easy and the cleanest finish ever! I have been sewing for 60 years, and I have NEVER been able to do nice mitered corners! Thank you so much!
I’m new to sewing with directions to make napkins my first project. This is the easiest video. Other listeners are correct. All the other instructors were so long and unnecessarily more complicated than necessary for a simple concept.
I'm planning a little English tea-party for a few friends. I searched eBay for napkins but, I couldn't find what I wanted and realised I would need to run them up myself. Enter youtube..... Thank you ever so much. Never seen a much easier to follow tutorial. How I appreciate you. You have a new subby.
Again, the best tutorial on mitered corners! I was doing a rolled hem on napkins because I thought mitered corners were going to be to hard for a beginner. Nope, much easier and they make a much nicer finished napkin. Thank you.
cute thank you I bought some fabric to make a table runner and decided to make napkins with the leftovers and each month will have a different colour :)
Thank you beyond words Paige, now I am so excited about getting started on making napkins I have been putting it off for months and not doing the placemats I have already cut out. I will be doing this method for both. Right from the beginning I knew this will be my chosen method I wrapped my head around it immediately. Happy Easter.
So happy to have found your tutorial on mitered napkin corners Paige. Thank you! I'm still mastering it however. I usually have 1 corner that's off a bit. Not sure why, but I will keep at it! You're the best!
Thank you! I’ve been watching several videos this afternoon on how to make napkins and every single one of them was not as concise as yours. My sample one turned out beautifully. New subscriber because of this!
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. I watched a dozen videos on mitered napkins and yours was the clearest, precise and to the point (pun intended) of all of the tutorials. You described how to get the PERFECT corners in the fewest steps. And the look really, really nice. I subscribed and I'll be back for more of your channel. Thanks again...my Halloween napkins are resting eerily in my tablescape!
I like that you did the final press AFTER you did the corners... I prefer not to work with a ¼" initial turn. I watched a few and this one is the best by far. Great tutorial! Do you prefer to work with decorator weight cotton?? Quilting cotton seems a bit too light weight for this.
I used quilting cotton for these because they are for simple, everyday use. I would use something much nicer for formal dinner napkins. Linen or heavier cotton.
I just made my first set of napkins for Christmas. The tutorial I had used told me to press and fold the corners into triangles. it was so hard to get perfect triangles, and I burned my fingers so many times. I swore I would never make napkins again, BUT now I'm inspired to make more with your method! Thank you!
All the napkins in this video thumbnail are made with quilting cotton. I made a set for our family to use for casual dinner throughout the week. We use them all the time and love them. So I say yes to quilting cotton. I would like to make a set with 100% linen for formal dinners and make a deeper hem for a fancy look.
Paige, I really appreciated your easy, concise, video instructions on napkins. I’ve watched at lease 20 others and yours was the best by far! Your Amazon link was fun too, I ordered the Nancy Zieman book for my grandchildren. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for the easy to follow and clear tutorial on mitered corner napkins! A few years ago I tried making mine with others tutorials and I was unable to make any because it was so difficult to follow. They whipped them up so fast I couldn’t reproduce what they were doing. This!! Oh my! I made a few already and they turned like a pro made them! 😆 haha not a pro but they turned out so well. Only thing to note was it would have been easier if the camera is facing the same way so it was not upside down. I had to try to figure out how you were facing and flipped my corners trying to figure out what you were doing rewinding the video several times. 😅 lol. But I finally got them. Thanks! I almost gave up making napkins. And the video on how to, along with the blog (dimensions) helps. Thanks so much!! New subscriber here!! 😊❤
I'm so glad you were able to make napkins that feel so nice to you. That's a good feeling. I'll definitely pay closer attention to the direction of the camera. I know exactly what you are talking about. Thank you!
When I did this for 14 napkins, my result ended up as yours did at 2:55--kind of a box shape, with none of the corners lying flat. I went through and redid all of them, making the stitch line a little lower (further into the napkin) and the angle of the stitching, rather than perpendicular to the folded edge, a fair amount smaller (less than 90 degrees). With these changes, I got all of the hems to lay flat and not buckle as I stitched it down.
This is the easiest, clearest tutorial on mitered corners I have watched yet, and I’ve watched a lot of them. Thank you!
You're welcome!
I concur
@@PaigeHandmade WOW thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I was great to see you use a patterned fabric to demonstrate which sides you fold in to make the miter corner I have been so confused with plain fabric but seeing the pattern has really helped me. Many thanks Jo x

Hands down the best tutorial on sewing mitered corners (and I've watched at least a dozen)!!!!!

Wow Ms Paige! You knocked it out of the park with those corners! No more trying to hold it all together, and the fact that the seams are .5" is a Lot better than 3/8"! Blessings to you!

Outstanding video and instructions! I've successfully made any number of beautiful napkins based on your guidance! Thank you, thank you!
I am new to this. I watched 3 other videos on how sew mitered corners but this one is the best. So clear cut and easy!❤😊
this is a great tutorial - thanks. I used batik printed fabrics, so the other side looks just as good as the front.
Thank you You saved on ironing before you sew. I did make a template so I didn't have to measure each time.
This is my go-to reference video every time I make napkins. Thank you.

What kind of fabric do you recommend for napkins?
So many different kinds of fabric would work! I like a variety of cotton fabrics. Something that I can easily wash and dry. Linen would be great too.
@@PaigeHandmade would regular quilting cotton work for example or something sturdier? I always struggle to know what to buy
