Trying a new Acrylic Painting Technique … Surprising my friend with a Pokemon painting

I spent 6 hours animating a 2 second clip for this video so you better watch it!
This is actually probably one of the most fun and most nostalgic paintings I've ever made. Very different to my usual work but it brought back memories of how I got into making art in the first place. I really hope you enjoy it, I had a lot of fun making this video!

Top tip for neat edges. Once you’ve put down your tape, go over it with a coat of the same paint already on the canvas (in this case white). The paint will of course still bleed through but it won’t show as it’s the same colour. However the edges are now sealed so the next layers of paint won’t bleed through. Perfect, crisp edges every time. You’re welcome.

As a massive Pokemon fan since the beginning, I love that you did this. Also great to see Ash's original hat, but be careful wearing it, Manky's love it lol :) Excellent job, they looked awesome. Glad your friend loved it. Any fan would have been super excited to get that sweet as painting.

Oh Dan, you have no idea how much this has just made my day 😂 we sadly lost our house rabbit Blossom last week so I’ve been pretty miserable - but just had a RUclips notification pop up on my phone about this and just watched it. We love Pokémon in our house and I loved this whole video! This was really well done and entertaining, I hope to one day make art videos on RUclips as good as yours, very inspiring and cheerful. For extremely crispy edges I found out to paint over the edge between tape and canvas with some varnish. With this nothing bleeds through

I've had much better luck with the Green Frogger tape than typical masking tape, they carry it at Home Depot
