Great memories, Dave. I have a few as well from my childhood and I'm so glad I haven't forgotten what it was like to be a kid.

Love the story about the candy bar and the campfire; it's amazing how that stuff sticks with us.

Yes, it is so great to remember awesome times. And it keeps us young , to still have feelings if excitement. Some just get old and mean 😅

82 is such a great and strong year. Really like the early Joe years the most even tho I missed out on the early years in my country where we really got the toys in the second half of the 80s. Great song choice too. Yo Joe.

Yes. Hope you had a good birthday! The 80s pop tunes always make me remember certain years/toys. In that songs case, it was always on the radio back in 1982 and l remember playing with the Hal lazer and vamp listening to that song.

It's funny that you say GI Joe is implanted in your mind forever. I've always said that my GI Joe memories are burned into my brain. I was under 10 years old in 1982-86. To this day I still remember which figures, vehicles and playlets I had. I remember which stores I got certain figures in. I also remember exactly which friends had some of the stuff I didn't have. lol. This was such a great toy line.

Yes, same with me. Gi.Joe was a huge part of my life and should always be. When l was 14, 15 and parents/people were telling me to stop playing with joes so l did. But it was more peer pressure as well as "Time to grow up". But it turned out there was nothing much better then gi.joe!

Ahhh... The MMS. When I found out it came with, and was the only way to get Hawk I had to seek it out ASAP. He was the C.O. of the Joe Team, not this Duke guy. Hahaha. Cool video Dave, and always love to hear your memories behind the toys.

Very nice. I have a lot of stuff in my current collection because of childhood memories. It's been a while since I've heard Juice Newton!

Oh man Goji l love that song. It was always on the radio back in 1982. When l think of this toy l remember this song, and so many other 82 songs. I am happy both of us still have good memories so that we can enjoy all this old stuff! 🎉

Love the box art on these vintage Joe sets ❤

Yes, it made the toy so real compared to other toy lines. Only Heman and Transformers had comparible art.

'82 all the way. I was 10, and they were so cool.

yes! 1982 was a great mixture of traditional military and the latest weaponry available. And Cobra was still a mystery - led by a faceless leader. Long before a cartoon came out and maybe gave too much insight into the diabolical terrorist organization.....the mystery was way more creepy.
