@Matty Jay I'm not dancing around shit - of course people let it happen - running up on a cop will get you shot. It sounds like you're trying to blame everyone else for that cop's actions. That dancing around some facts. I agree, people should get involved more when an incident is going down. But it still stems from cops thinking that they are untouchable gods, doing this shit in the first place. The way your statement is framed is like its everyone of those protesters' faults for not being there, every time. I presume that isn't what you mean, but still that is how it sounds.

@Matty Jay Another thing: i don't disagree that there are more people there than police. Those bystanders a) don't know what that dude is getting arrested for and b) aren't paid and trained law professionals.
There are still people yelling at that cop to stop (one of the reasons it was being recorded). They were trying to stop that cop the only safe way they could; notice the three armed guards that cop has standing around him, protecting him just in case someone runs up. Do you blame all crimes on witnesses, bystanders, and victims? I hope not. Its the CRIMINALS who are to blame for the CRIMINALS actions. Why would this be any different? Why are you trying to shift blame from the murderers to the witnesses, who, again, would likely end up shot if they got physical with that cop AT ALL. Plus, you know those cops wouldn't get shit for charges then... "Well, we were attacked by an unruly mob and had to defend ourselves." They would walk, no charges, after "putting down" a crowd. And you'd be on here talking 'bout "it was their own fault, running up on a cop like that."
Do we the people need a way to exert ourselves against the tyranny of the police? Yeah. And we have two ways to do it; the 1st and 2nd amendments. But you and I both know there isn't a single goddamned way to use the 2nd against "law" enforcement that won't end up with you murdered or in jail for life. So people really only got the 1st. And that's what we're using right now. Your police-apologist, witness-blaming stance is BS in reality. I really wish it wasn't like that, but it is.

El-P went NUTS in the second beat
"A piledriver provider for liars" is one of the best lines to ever be on a Run the Jewels album. Period.
That beat and flow shift that started at 1:33 caught me totally off guard, my body and brain were NOT ready for that level of amazing-ness. Like I was already settled in to "ok this is fire, this beat is sick" and figured that was where we were gonna stay ... NOPE. "Oh you thought THIS was good? Hold my beer lemme show you THIS" they say.
It got elevated to 11/10

One of his most incredible verses and the finale is truly world shaking, people to whom that sort of lyrical brutality is directed at need to reconsider every life decision that led them to that point.
I just discovered this album, I heard RTJ’s name mentioned a lot but never heard their music. Now i will have to hear RTJ 1-3. This album is killer, especially this track.

El has always gone hard. His solo solo catalog is my single favorite body of work in all of hip hop. But he went extra hard here. 2 things separate this El-p and his solo albums. Experience. He's continued to improve his pen game this whole time. His style has changed and is now much more accessible but still so packed with little brain nuggets (the Atlas Shrugged line comes to mind). And purpose. RTJ4 is the most lyrically cohesive of all his solo efforts. This is Fuck The System done in ways only El and Killer Mike could.
The beats are crazy which is something I've come to expect in anything El makes, but the difference here is how accessible the beats are. I'll Sleep When You're Dead is my favorite album ever but I can't share that album with everybody I know and expect them to "get" it. But these beats are beats people can dance to. There are more than a few songs on this album that I could hear at a strip club but at the same time they don't sound anything like anything else. There are tons of old school hip hop references (some are quite deep) but this feels new.
I thought I wanted a new El-p solo album but RTJ4 proved me wrong. This is why I love hip hop.

Biggest change was honestly how commercial it got, when you look at rtj 1 and then rtj 4 you realize both Mike and El basically sold out, not that thats a bad thing, they deserved some damn cash after their careers and this album wast still great. Can't help but wish we could've heard Mike on I'll Sleep When Your Dead but still

Everyone talks about his production (don’t blame them) but he has some crazy good verses. Killer Mike is better at flow and verses that hit you in the heart, but EL-P is more willing to get weird with it
