The hole in the seat is actually an AFCS or "Advanced Fart catchment System" it collects your farts and converts the residual methane gasses into energy that power auxiliary systems!
Yeah, I'd say Chris knows hit sh** over there. Too bad for a rainy outing but as far as dealerships and demo's go, I have the pleasure of living around the corner from this one which provides a ride on all bikes through a pretty good canyon complete with cows (i'm sure you the spot). The loop allows for a diversified trip through lights, straightaways and turns. A hop on the freeway back gives you a good idea of what you'd get in that particular bike.
My demo ride was cut short due to rain but my quick novice take was: of course a very fast bike all the way through, comfortable seat, I need more time to get used to gearing as I typically ride Triumph, I also need a week to get used to and have fun with all the performance features like LAUNCH, a strange high and wide feeling on the bars at 39" which was weird when I split at a light, and the pegs were also less than ideal at footing. No problem feet down at a light as far as height goes. I gotta get back on that thing; what an amazing machine.
This bike is starting to get my attention. I ride a Harley Fat Bob and love it but this Ducati looks great. If I had the money for a second bike I would want it. Great information. Best to you.
Very dumb question. I have never rode a bike before and lets say that I want to own this bike. How many years of experience would I need to handle a bike of this caliber?
You should certainly get your training and certification (6 months) along with whatever it takes to get your M Class license. At the class in California, they provide a very rideable 250 cc level street bike. I'm not gonna tell you that you can't buy a Diavel as a first bike, however I wouldn't myself call it a beginner bike by any means. I first bought a 900cc bike that I could put both my feet firmly on the ground when I came to a stop. Otherwise, it's what's between your ears that will keep you alive on a powerful bike. It would take many of us time to get used to this beast no matter what. It has a freakin power launch! If you punch it with ttc off without proper time in, you'll crash. You need good basics and a firm respect for this level of power. I rode dirt bikes as a kid, got back into it on a 900 for a year, a sport 1050 for a year or so, and I'd have no problem getting into this type of power. This one is kind of a super sporty cruiser so it's easy to ride which complicates your point. I rode that 959 Ducati Panigale and the power delivery was more imposing than this beautiful beast. Rideable bike for sure but I'd go with the smaller Monster for a while first (maybe a year or 2). Throttle control bud, keep the rubber side down.
I don't know jack shit about bikes man and plus I'm in the UK. But thanks for the information though even though I didn't get majority of the stuff; it was just a hypothetical question form my part but thanks again.
This Diavel sits like a standard at minimum, if not a cruiser. The look and that seating position for starters. I'd consider the Diavel in it's uniqueness and comfort whereas that Kawasaki should win the performance numbers, right? Maybe she hangs 0-60 but I would assume the Kawi would take the rest.
T120 Black is best all around if one could only have a single bike. IMHO. I ride a Thruxton R. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the price, performance, and look of the Yamaha XSR 900 as well.
Whoa Timothy, it's just for fun from a non-professional, un-planned ride. I also thought Chris from Ducati was pretty detailed on some of the distinctions between the X and standard models.
The issue is that review is in the title of the video and there is actual review of any sort in the video, just a sales guy giving a gew features people can read off the Ducati Website.
Hi everybody can you please give me some suggestions on how to verify with videotape and a go pro hero 4 silver my 1299S when it intermittently and randomly and unexpectedly stalls out? Every time i take it to the dealer they said they can't duplicate the problem and Ducati of North America video taped my bike with no problems. But my 1299s still stalls out on me in congested stop in go traffic all the time and when I feather the clutch and drive between 0 to 15 mph on the street or freeway or on the street. However I'm an amateur and I just purchased a hero 4 go pro silver camera do you have suggestions on how to mount it to the 1299S gas tank ? I'm concerned with losing the camera what type a suction mount the go pro hero 4 camera? What I should use and what can I use in case the suction loses its grip to keep the camera from damaging the motorcycle and the camera in case it falls thanks advance for everything. The dealer said prove the 1299s is stalling out with video verification because they claim everything is checking out A ok on the computer test sheet with Ducati engineers and Ducati video tape that they won't show me What would you do? Thanks in advance for everything.
Lazaro LAZLORD youre right it does resemble the V Max, a more exotic V Max but unlike the Yamaha the Duck is actually drivable where the V Max is too cumbersome.
I need to get my ass on this bike , make a video and show the people what this thing has , How strong it is , How well the wheel with lift , How easy power comes on at red line , and do a burn out , Fuck a bunch of blue tooth and phone shit .
That issue has absolutely been rectified: they had often put the demo bikes in and out of that space and the owner was told. The video is made by a customer taking a test ride. Great point.
Very true. The way to go is have Rob (GM) consign the bike. Then you can negotiate the fee and got a good market price. They've sold a bunch of used HD's, never a VRod with low miles though, sounds like a gem.
That’s actually a reasonable offer from a dealer for a VROD. Hate to break it too you but but VRODs don’t hold their value. You should know that. A VROD can be had between $5k and $9k all day long, which is cheap and sad considering its the best motor HD ever made.
Ha! You're damn right MrSimsim07! IDK if you realized that this is a customer's video from stopping by the local dealership and being offered an unplanned ride (literally took out a phone cam and walked around) and therefore wouldn't typically include a professional cameraman!! I guess it somewhat takes on the form a wanna be of an actual promotion.
Sorry, but it looks bulky and cluttered. I'd take the new Triumph Thruxton R or the new Speed Triple in a second and, really, huge unusable hp numbers don't impress me anymore.
So.. Truxton (old stile naked), Speed (modern naked) or XDiavel (Super cruiser). But what compared is? Are three different bike, don't have anything in common. It's like comparing (example) a muscle car, Huracan and GT (F12, Vanquish.. etc). I don't understand honestly. PS Sry, I don't speak eng, I hope you understand my concept.
I think you're right in one sense, however what I think he means is what would you choose out of the conceptually new Triumph and Ducati line-ups. New technology is present for the 2016 Triumph classic series for sure. I certainly agree that comparing the Ducati Diavel to anything presents an issue.
Again, just for fun and I didn't plan on even riding the bike that day, but when he suggested the test ride I gladly jumped on the opportunity (and grabbed my camera)...then it friggin rained!
The hole in the seat is actually an AFCS or "Advanced Fart catchment System" it collects your farts and converts the residual methane gasses into energy that power auxiliary systems!
Had I gotten the correct fuel from say Taco Bell, I could have tried out the Methane Launch during the ride. Next time.
which bike at the back at 1:40 ???
@@darklight898 ducati monster if im correct, only a year late lmao
Finally a review of this bike where the lighting gets explained
Came across this video by chance and I must say this is one the most entertainment and interesting "reviews" I found.
Thanks for the fun!
Best looking production bike out there in my opinion.
Very nice!!! It was nice to see the Brea Canyon Road leading to Diamond Bar where I used to live. Thanks for this great review!

Fat Bob = Classic bad-ass bike!

Nice bike ! My dream ! )
@9:33min ...did he say reach speed of light? 🤔

quando entra in gioco l estro e la creatività Italiana tutti a casa.
The motorbike presented in this video is Ducati XDiavel not Diavel.Between these two there is a quite big diference on design and ride
Great point, Chris goes through the details and differences in the video. Thank you.
Ducati, ce monstre , magnifique ,super 👍👍👍👍☝
Cool lookin bike 👍
ducati diavel carbon 2012 zero km vs kawasaki zx14r 2016 brand new? which one to buy for almost the same price here
This Diavel sits like a standard at minimum, if not a cruiser. The look and that seating position for starters. I'd consider the Diavel in it's uniqueness and comfort whereas that Kawasaki should win the performance numbers, right? Maybe she hangs 0-60 but I would assume the Kawi would take the rest.
poit444 Buying a motorcycle is very difficult decision :) what is your favorite bike in general?
T120 Black is best all around if one could only have a single bike. IMHO.
I ride a Thruxton R. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the price, performance, and look of the Yamaha XSR 900 as well.
How about rizoma handle ba??
good sound
Nice bike - but I can't even say it was a terrible review - it wasn't a review at all - still nice bike, better reviews elsewhere though.
Whoa Timothy, it's just for fun from a non-professional, un-planned ride. I also thought Chris from Ducati was pretty detailed on some of the distinctions between the X and standard models.

nice zulu
Love that bike
They are bad ass dope looking bikes, just not into the upright riding position,
Here, allow me to save you 1:40 minutes of your lives....

Sucks being poor, might as well add a zero to the cost.

Not a Diavel, this is the XDiavel.
I need to get my ass on this bike , make a video and show the people what this thing has , How strong it is , How well the wheel with lift , How easy power comes on at red line , and do a burn out , Fuck a bunch of blue tooth and phone shit .
So beutiful beast
Scary fucking price tag !
Damn right!
🤩🤩🤩🤩👍👍💛💜
The bike is beautiful but who made the video should respect the position of guests with disabilities that the brand does not seem to respect.
That issue has absolutely been rectified: they had often put the demo bikes in and out of that space and the owner was told. The video is made by a customer taking a test ride. Great point.
Very nice, tks
🤤
BikerForce..'DUCKY EEGS',..BOILER !@#$%
total shame about the rear wheel design
Daemiex rear wheel makes the bike, dull looking otherwise
those supposed deluxe wheels on the S are shite with a capital S.
Best looking rear wheel in all of motorcycling, what are you talking about.
that music in horrendous
That dealer offered me $4,000 for my trade in on a 2016 Harley VROD !!!! LMAO they must be high there
bike had like 7k miles on it. haha had to leave after that

The review info is great the video shooting is crap. get a good cameraman.

keren
Sorry, but it looks bulky and cluttered. I'd take the new Triumph Thruxton R or the new Speed Triple in a second and, really, huge unusable hp numbers don't impress me anymore.
+gwwayner Great points. There's also a '16 Speed Triple S at that dealer at $13,200.

Vmax and Diavel is always an intriguing comparison.

Juat for fun, tough crowd man!
Good presentation, filming was a bit off key. Keep up the good work
haha well everyones expected to professional review videos and stuff.
Again, just for fun and I didn't plan on even riding the bike that day, but when he suggested the test ride I gladly jumped on the opportunity (and grabbed my camera)...then it friggin rained!
You can rely on the rain when you are on two wheels!

WTF with that crappy music?
25 min of shitty music, 2 min of actual review.....
That's 1:38 of shitty youtube music genius.
Dislike this video for its irritating background sound.
Weird-ass bike that will soon be forgotten.
Riding position is horrible, I'm not a fan
