I haven't forgotten that I also owe you a Bass Gang React video for Yellow Flicker Beat. That will be coming soon!
Usually for these first time reaction videos, I do not listen to them (unless I see the previews) and sometimes I won't read any of the comments or descriptions. I assumed that Peter did his own mixing and mastering (as well as video) - correction is made listed below. Amazing work, Jonny, Dave, and Marwan!
Great work, Peter!

Another excellent analysis -- thanks so much for taking the time to do this, and for providing some of the best musical breakdowns on RUclips. Glad you enjoyed as well!
Thank you brother! I'll say it again - impeccable technique. And it's definitely bass+baritone - crazy Bb1s man. So resonant and full! Haha.
Thou: this C1 is super impressive!
Also Thou: *casually sings the same note*
Haha. Not as impressive though. Just set it and forget it, I suppose. I don't even realize that I do this sometimes. Thanks!
@@bass2yang please don’t stop. We all love it
Ahahaha, I noticed that too! 2Yang is offhandedly awesome. 😸
Thanks for checking out Peter's cover!
Your musical abilities are incredible - GREAT analysis !
Thank you brothers!
Always a privilege to hear music from you and the other bass brothers. Keeping me humble and sharpening my skills as well!
🔥
Don’t forget to go back to Yellow Flicker Beat by the Bass Gang. It was my favorite from May the Bass be with you vol. 2.
Not forgotten! Thanks for the assist.
I'll be covering it this week after the other videos.
Thanks!
I’m glad that you’re giving early praise to the C2. With some of the a cappella music nowadays, a lot of people tend to dismiss a C2 and focus only on first octave notes. A full, resonant, non-amplified and PROJECTED C2 in chest is difficult to come by! I know this is a recording with a microphone and production, but those early Cs from Peter were very well done. No fry needed!
Agreed! Those Bb1s were also full voice 🔥 definitely a bass+baritone
I really appreciate that you went through the piece more than once and building on every part.
You are welcome!
Love this analysis. Peter is doing amazing things these days-I still want you to check out “It Won’t Be Me,” but also, he and The Bass Gang just dropped an excellent cover of Imagine Dragons’ song Bones.
Thank you for this! I'll put it in my list of what to cover. I believe Bones is next or coming up soon.
Backlogged here but won't be for long at least.
Thanks for your patience!
Always interesting to hear your analysis. I feel I'm learning more about the performance as you point out details.
Thank you! Glad I was able to point out other details in this arrangement!
Thanks for this R&A-as always, I learned new things about music & now appreciate different things about Peter's video too. (Compelled to mention that your voice is a not-insignificant part of my enjoyment, & the way you off-handedly sing along with a wide range of singers. ;-))) Especially enjoyed your comments about what a "theme" can be & represent, & how one is constructed. When you compared it to the rhythms & structure of spoken language it really connected to my background in poetry, & how a poem's voice & formal stanzas or other structure can support or subvert meaning. Cool stuff....
Damn I love learning about details & complexities that make music seem even more rich & affecting! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts & knowledge. 💜💜💜
(As an aside, as I watched Peter's video in *your* video the sound didn't quite sync with the visual track. Keep niggling at me & distracting from what I wanted to pay attention to....)
Thank you!
I just noticed the delay. Apparently there is a buffer delay on OBS and then a software delay from Logic into OBS, but not with the direct mic from my interface into OBS. Haha.
I must have synced the video to the direct input and the offset affected the sound delay from Logic. Hurray for sync issues. I'll just route all audio through Logic from now on haha.
Thanks again!
por favor activa los subtitulos para los que no sabemos ingles, gracias
Usually all subtitles are automatically added to my videos by RUclips. I'll check again in a few hours to see if it has added it. Thanks!
