- It's been a minute! The holiday season kicked my butt and I didn't have time to upload any videos the last couple of months. But I did film a bit and will be uploading those in the next few weeks! Here's the start of my little diy kitchen reno, starting off with making over my counters. I LOVE them.

For anyone watching this, learn from her - uhm... experience. Do your homework before you actually start the process and make sure you prep the site properly as well. Glad she likes it. Looks okay, I suppose
Thanks for the comment! I loved (and still absolutely love) how it turned out and made sure to do plenty of research before hand. I hope this helps anyone looking to try this in the future!
how is this sealer holding up for you? can you add some up close photos...thanks
It's *ok* but if I had to do it all over again, I may have gone with a different sealer. If any oil or water sits on it unforgotten for too long, it stains. I try to clean messes up as soon as I can but life happens or I'm not around to catch it so areas by the sink and oven have gotten darker over time.
The end result is actually pretty good.
Thank you!
How smooth is it?
It's fairly smooth but I also wasn't going for 100% perfection and intentionally left it a little naturally rough
Hey Samantha. They make a special type of trowel for the edges. Look up bull nose trowel
Oohh good to know! I'll look into that for any future projects that I could use one for! Thanks for sharing
How are they holding up?
They're definitely not perfect but I still love them!
Sand the granite first, or no? I want to sand my granite first to help with adhesion, but it's so loud to use an orbital sander in my apartment block. By hand would be ridiculous...
I didn't sand mine first and didn't think it was a huge issue. Maybe a primer would be less noisy and help with adhesion?
