I find that will fail if the path has multiple points (curves) and you have easing, then the object gets detached from the actual tip... kinda annoying
@@HardIsEasy This is because - at least until Fusion 18 - I don't know if Fusion 19 adresses this - the movement doesn't take the aspect ratio of the image into account. If you work on square images everything lines up without issue.
@@ShadowMakerSdR wait two thoughts… first all my aspect ratios do match so there shouldn’t be any problems? But gonna test on square aspect ratios although this is already sounding funny who works with square footage anyway :)))
I love your pragmatic approach to these animation challenges - using a font for the arrowhead isn't a "hack", it's working smart! Also, as of this writing (10/7/2023), the "download free stuff" link in the above description is giving a 404 [not found] error.
Nothing wrong with using a font for the arrow graphic but there's plenty of tutorials out there on how to make something follow a path both with the position and the angle. And not copying any paths (which only makes it messier if you want to adjust the path) but instead using a published path. No need for complicated expressions to do that. Though a simple expression to connect the arrows displacement on the path to the Write On of the path does streamline things. There's simply a better way of getting the results of the "complicated" way in this tutorial. Other than that, lovely presentation as usual:)
A thing that helped were, making sure I had the polyline selected when I selected the MaskPaint1 Node and then Copying, otherwise it copies nothing to paste to the Text1 Node
Ironically the 30 second photoshop tutorial might have been the most useful thing for me at the moment 😂def saving this gem for when I know I’ll need it
I can't believe you expected us to made the 5:56 Error !, I had to go back and correct it before continue hahaha nice one ! thank you for your videos !
Very nice! 👍. I will try the 'Cool Way'. I think, this will help me. And - I think the 'Cool Way' can be applied with a Adjustment-Clip. Thank you for making awesome videos. Your fusion tutorials are fantastic. I just switch to da Vinci and I really like motion, graphics, and watching your videos really help!!!!
Not related, but I've been searching in vain for a tutorial on how to make a fusion preset for making an animated box text (like where the text is booleand out of the box) that has the rgb, kind of wavy border. Would be an excellent topic for a future video, if you're looking for ideas that is. In fact, just being able to do the RGB effect would be nice.
Great stuff, Ryan! I've almost got three shots connected--no sound, effects, or color grading, as just doing what I have has taken what seems to be forever. This is how much of a dyslexic noob I am! Seeing how you did the moving arrow, I was hoping you would cover some related tricks on my list to master: I'd love to figure out how to have animations weave between people or objects. Another too tremendous variation for school is text or an object with a shadow. Do you have any tricks on either of those? I have done just enough videos in the past, in front of and behind the camera, to know how evil and brutal it is to do, and you do a remarkable job on all points! When I set up video production at home and with the advances in software, I've been a whimpering boob sitting in front of my monitor, softly weeping. You've given me a glimmer of hope. I have an attention span of a gnat, so I tend to dart around looking at things that catch my eye and going back over and over until I know everything about it. I'm an obsessive, which has its advantages and disadvantages.🙄 Why the hell do people study this stuff? Have you ever tossed that as a random question? Beyond my lofty goals of being a published author and screenplay writer, plus finding some dire reason why it is imperative to have me on set during a movie shoot?? Yeah, I have a backup plan. You see, until that falls in my lap, I've decided to focus on something I don't think anyone has marketed much--selling used cars. Ew? Why not use advanced cinematography to market objects that are thirty-five grand or so as an Average Price? Houses, of course, are another big market that needs more real-quality video used to market. What real estate agents are doing in DIY 3d presentations is pretty embarrassing to look at. I'll see you later; I've got to check out your video about speed custom effects. Setting aside macros from this vid was a big takeaway for me!
Another very well produced video with fantastic information. See you in the next one! Btw: this is the first time on RUclips that i'm super excited about a channel 👌
Your videos are super high quality and informative i can't believe it's free to watch. I suggest maybe re-creating some of magnisemedia or vox or james janny or iman gadzhi motion graphics with davinci resolve.
I like this, but there was another effect happening in your clip that is really what I want. You were circling controls on your clip to callout what you were doing. I liked how you did that, but don't know what you did to make that happen. Can you explain that please?
Hi Ryan! Do you know of any way to emulate the controls that After Effects uses to link specific layer functions for easy access into one single layer? Are they: Color Control, Slider Control, Point Control, etc. Thank you for your time and effort in making these videos.
I have Version 19. I can't find the same drop down menus for the MaskPaint1 or in the Text+ . I've been working on this for 3 days. I'm not a quitter. The comments below prove that it works. What am I missing? Thank you.
Another great video! I had a question though as I am watching all of your videos. How did you gain the editing skills you have? Was it college? Courses? Working under an agency? Working under a content creator? Just the quality of your videos is so much better than other tutorials!
I think that is more easy just draw an arrow in solid back ground and capture the screen. Just import that video with a keyer efect and just put in position. No animation, no key frames, no fusion mode.
To make the rotation follow the path, use the 'modify with' heading option on the angle control of the transform of your arrowhead.
Yeah thats the best solution I think. But it might be also easier to do it with a Polygon in general, or is it?
Can’t believe I overlooked this! Thank you bud 🙏

This channel is an actual goldmine, please dont stop making vids, u are the only one that is actually advanced in what he does
He’s great, but also be sure to check out William justice. The guy is a freaking genius and he gives away all the stuff for free.

Thank God you are back
By far one of the best laid out and simplest Fusion tutorials I've found so far. Thanks mate!
Great that you are back! Please make more tutorials on fusion, motion graphics especially. Your explanation is by far the best :)
I agree with this guy
Agreed!

Excelente explicación, muchas gracias por tomarte el tiempo para ilustrarnos. Saludos desde Bolivia.
That Font method was brilliant!! Great Video 🫡

thank you again, great value!!!
Where is that arrow text font? Can't seem to find it.
Could you make a video about all the modifiers available in fusion?

Just wondering if you could use a SVG file (like a route from Google earth) and add an image (like a car) to the head of the line?
How did you animated the size of "version 2" at 4:49 ? You probably did a follower modifier I guess. I also did but couldn't find out.
“two thumbs down” ahaaaah! Sneaky sneaky 😂. Great tutorial.
great!
thanks... angle connect to heading
Welcome back!
I love your channel! Do you have memberships or "Buy Me a Coffee" or anything to support it?
I do! Thank you so much

How to make animation in daVinci look as smooth as it looks in after effects
This font is a GIANT time saver. I like the idea of showing only essential information and then couple ideas to integrate it into your own projects.
this is what i was looking to animate, thanks ryan.
hey how can i replicate the colorama effect in fusion??
you didn't add the font hyperlink
your link for free stuff is stuffed. Had to edit it and put your name on it
I think that is more easy just draw an arrow in solid back ground and capture the screen. Just import that video with a keyer efect and just put in position. No animation, no key frames, no fusion mode.
SIR.. Please make video. We are waiting for you.
my arrow doesnt appear on screen. can you tell me why.
did you figure itout same here
We're lucky your a resolve guy now 👍(actually, your lucky also 🤣)
Dang this was hella awesome! Was waiting for your videos man, glad you're back🤙
Isn’t it easiest to just import an SVG from Designer?
Another great video Ryan. Keep up the good work!
