Today I Learned How to Do 20 Things in Fusion That I Never Ever Did in After Effects 😄 Loads of small and useful tips... for a novice DaVinci user that is 👍
Damn dude, this is definitely one of the best and most informative videos about Fusion I've seen for people who are switching from AE/Premiere. Thanks for making it and please keep making advanced Fusion tutorials. There's a really high demand for advanced Fusion tutorials.
Thank you so much RanSL. Made my day with that comment! ❤I'm using Fusion on a daily basis in my job so I have a lot more to share and no plans to stop :) glad its been helpful!
I'm NOT switching from AE (I've never used it) but I picked up so many practical how to tips watching this - effects that I didn't know how to do approach in Fusion (which node(s) to work with). So, thank you - this is super valuable even for your non-AE audience, especially those of us still early in the journey 😀
Haha I thought you were a die hard AE fan at first there 😂 That’s amazing to hear Ken! 😁 glad to hear it’s been useful even if you’re not switching away.
Best Tutorial out there, with your other ones, for people switching or just getting the basics straight. A tutorial series on all effects and examples for simple projects and complex applications would be one of a kind👌🏻 Your channel is amazing 👍🏻
Amazing tutorial... You actually get what people who are switch need from a tutorial. Well structured... highly informative and straight to the point. 17+ minutes felt like 5. Great content...
Cool. Just started to learn more about Fusion, this is very helpful. For #7, I would have cloned the transform node aka created an instance using Shift+CTRL+V. It connects the original node with the instance with a thin green line. Easier to keep track of dependencies.
This is honestly AMAZING!!! I always watch After Effects videos to see if it can be done in Fusion and this was perfect. Especially the CC Sphere one!!! I would LOVE to see more videos on Reactor as a lot of people don't really touch on it and maybe a sequel to this video as it's just so useful!!! 😀
Thanks Lewis! Reactor has so much to offer, definitely lots more to talk about with this in future 😄 I think a lot of people are switching right now. I’m very glad it’s helped you.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. I've used after affects for years and I like it a lot but it's so expensive. I've been teaching myself Davinci resolve and until watching your videos I didn't realise how much you can do with fusion and how similar fusion and AE are in many ways. Far as I know you're the only one helping people make the transition from AE into fusion.... More please, lots more showing us how to do AE things in Fusion
Bro thanks alott!!! I'm a davinci users started some months ago. Haven't used any editing software before. This video was helpful as i learnt about new tools!!
This is an excellent video and I’ve subscribed. I’m a long time AE user and trying to use Fusion, as I own it, too. I even learned a few AE tips from your video. Thanks.
I personally already knew this stuff, but I am very impressed with your presentation of these effects! This is such a good resource for those that may be apprehensive about making the jump to Resolve!
@@RyanOsborneUK I would say, Adobe needs to fight back. And having a good rival gives birth to innovation, with Resolve as Adobe's Rival we will see many more things in Premiere & AE.
Great stuff as usual - hoping when I'm a bit more steady in my current work I can look at branching out into Resolve and away from the Adobe Suite, so content like this is massively appreciated.
Thanks Luker! Totally get that, definitely wise to make the switch when you have time. There's so much to learn! Hoping that things get more steady for you soon.
Great video. Thanks for making it. My first thought when I saw the 18th tip is "cant you just do that with the motion trails effect in Fusion?" I tried it and it doesn't really work that well.
New favorite channel!!! :)) Good job man. Keep it up and you'll surely become famous among the increasing people that switch from adobe to fusion. I don't know very much of AE, but this...this is gold for fusion learning. Hope to see in the future more and kore complex effects. But for now, fur us the beginners...this means the world to us. 🙏
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve never used AE but this was so helpful because it helped me to understand how to make really commonly used effects in DR. I am just getting into advanced fusion work and it’s so incredibly helpful when there’s high quality content like this. I’m so thankful, keep it up please! Dan
This is becoming one of the best channels for learning Fusion. I do have a bit of a request. After Effects is often used as the primary compositing tool for 2d frame by frame animation, by importing the animations as image sequences. It is kinda the standard for that in the anime industry. Could you make a video on that using Fusion? Thanks for the videos anyway. They are a massive help.
Thank you, the video is done very well. Of course, the same things can also be done in other ways. At 4:25 you can also use a "transform" node to do the horizontal flip, at 5:29 there is now a "Multimerge" node, at 5:52 there is also a "Trails" node without installing reactor. Congratulations for the video.
You do a great job at explaining fusion and DaVinci in general. It's the editor I use for mine and my wifes garden channel. I wish this program had a way to make some sort of cartoon animation or abilities to animate a picture of a face. That would be fun to be able to do. I just subscribed. Much respect for the time you put into these videos, it shows. --chris
Thanks Chris, there are definitely ways you can create animations within Fusion :) I plan on showing more of this in the future. Thanks for the sub my friend.
Jesus, that really good. I've been using AE for years and am getting a bit frustrated with the lack of progress with it. Also I love nodes from the old days of Shake, ( remember that lol ) and I never really got my head round nodes in AE.
this is my first video i found of yours. subbed and liked i hope there are more videos about effects from AE in Fusion. thank you so much for the video
What a fucking legend!! Straight to the point top quality content! As a 10 year After Effect user I feel very confident in switching and starting my Fusion journey. Big subcribe from here!!!
Would love for you to make more advanced visual effect scene tutorials! Like showing what a 100 node big scene, with lots of stuff going on, could look, work and be handled. Many layers of Stock assets, forground and background elements, glows etc. Would love to see how you would do it! Big subscribing from here, loooking so much forward to your next content and uploads
Hi Ryan, thank you for another very helpful video! Your channel is my #1 ressource for Resolve & Fusion, and I am happy to see that your channel has started to pick up the growth it deserves! All the best, Tom
Amazing! You know both DaVinci and After effects, and you can perfectly translate every feature! This is my new favorite channel, just from this video being the first I have watched of yours! Also, I saw your doc, and saw that you have a fusion icon there. I am interested in what it does. If you see this comment, please reply with what the fusion symbol in your dock does. Thanks so much!
Just watched the intro to Fusion video and this one. Great stuff brother!! More convinced than ever to make the switch. My biggest question is how to effectively “start” and “end” a node in the timeline. Sometimes my layers in AE begin mid-animation. Thoughts?
great channel. im starting to learn fusion. nodes are cool. ive only really done transitions and titles so far in fusion because my skill is still small. my old PC couldnt do much with fusion because it was too slow. but now i have an M1 mac, its blasting though all the vfx from fusion :) also a former adobe user. the only adobe product i miss is photoshop. the rest i dont miss at all.
Hej man, thanks for the video. This is really helpful! A deep dive into the displacement effect would be interesting. Also Posterise Time (I use it for a stop motion like effect) and expressions in general.

Thank you so much for sharing!
I almost give up on davinci when i start switching from after effect to davinci.
This is pure gold. So glad I found your channel 🙌

Easily one of the best videos for the mass exodus from Adobe
