Wow, I sure do miss Christmas in the 80s and just miss the decade of the 80s in general. What a fantastic time to grow up as a young child during this decade. I was nine years old and yes, remember all of these toys and how patriotic the nation was and how wonderful television culture, movies and radio in general was fantastic
@@ChristmasAficionado yes me too. We had some of the best toys in the 80s and I remember my best friend had Castle Gray school and all of the he man action figures. It was truly one of my favorite cartoons. next to Transformers and go bots.
I remember 1986 so well. Last year of high school. I was working at a local grocery store. The 70's were my childhood growing up. The 80's was my teenage years. We had moved to a smaller place. My parents divorced each other for the second time. Oddly they got along better in separate homes than together. This video brought back a lot of memories. Some bad but most were great. Thank you! You definitely earned a subscriber here! Great work!
I was afraid at first that 1986 would not be as fun as other years, but it turns out to be a fun year for cartoons. The RAMBO cartoon is ridiculous but so was the fact that we both watched RAMBO Part 2 around that time.
The 80s was the last decade that we had real hope for the future. Digital was a new word, we were going into space all the time, and cartoons were still pure fantasy.
I remember I got he man, Atari 2600, and knight rider big wheel!!!! Oh my God its something so magical about those days....and do not forget the Christmas commercials, my favorite was the Fruity Pebbles Christmas commercial.
Thanks for the memories and the nostalgia! I love this series. I think this was the Christmas I have the fewest memories of. I remember the ones before and after more clearly but I think it also blurs with '87 to be honest. Definitely felt the shift from TF and GIJoe after this year when it came to toys. The shows were winding down as well alongside He-man, even though he was less relevant by now. I think this was the year I got a few MASK vehicles because of that.
God i was 7. It was an amazing time to be a child. Dont remember what i got that year (likely alot of action figures, legos and an electric car track 🤣)
I was 14 and remember all these and how much fun it was back then. Id give anything to go back. Btw, what is the music you have playing in the background? I love it and would love to find it. Thank you. Great video!
I was 11. Putting these videos together have been so much fun and I am reliving the 80s. Be sure to check out 87, 88, and 89 videos and 1985 is coming! The music is called Christmas From The Eighties and is licensed from POND 5
@@ChristmasAficionado hi again. I've just spent my entire night looking for that specific song. From p o n d s can't find it. Can you send me a link so I know which one it is because I've listened to so many songs and none of them are it I really want to hear this song. Absolutely love it and I cannot find it. Please. What else? Transformers! When I first remembered seeing it blew away my imagination like nothing before! And saw a little bit of several cartoons too….
@@ChristmasAficionado Okay. Cool. Thanks for getting back to me. These are great videos by-the-way. I have a weird fascination for the year 1987, and your Christmas 1987 was fabulous.
Don't ever tell me anything was better than the '80s. Not a single freaking aspect of our current life
Exactly!

I'm glad you got something out of it. I'm counting down the 80s and hope to have 1984 out in October and 1983 in December.
I love this 80's series! I hope you finish off the 80's and even do a few 70's episodes eventually.
I was working on the 1984 script tonight. Should be out in November. After I finish the 80s, the plan is the 90s and then 70s
Excellent work! I still can't believe that there was a Rambo cartoon. I remember it well. I even had the action figures. Only in the 80s.

@@ChristmasAficionado It was a fun year. I love the Macy's parade footage with He-Man and Dolph. Great find!

The 80s TV shows were so great
I was 9 I remember it all , it snowed and i took millions of pics , it was the best day ❤🎉😮😊😢
Back then I couldn't imagine how much it would cost to develop that many photos! :-)
The 80s were just so nice
yes! Thanks for watching
The Christmas Toy should have been one of your recommended watches. I recorded it on VHS, and I still have the tape; it was such a sweet story!
I saw it for the first time a few years ago. Never saw it as a kid. It was ok. i add the recommended to things that I watch often.
Wow! This is great. I was 8 in 1986 and I don’t remember much of this, but it’s fun to go back for bit!
I was 11 so this was everything for me, but when I do the 70s I know I won't know as much
I am 47 and I still can't afford the G.I.Joe USS Flagg.
I feel ya. I really want it but I would have to buy a bigger house 😂
I’ve got one in my closet stored away. Want to buy it?
@@jamieroach7823 😱 You know you have a small amount of gold in that closet right?

I was 6 years old back in 86 i remember for Christmas got an Etcha Sketch and some Legos of course barbie dolls😊
Such a good memory!
I can’t believe Thomas the Train existed back in 1986?!😮😮
Yes. The first few seasons were hosted by Ringo Starr. Its been around for a long time
@@ChristmasAficionado I just googled it and it wasn’t aired in America ‘til 1989. Fascinating though to know he was around in the early 80’s.🧡
I did watch any Thomas until my kid was born but thats interesting it didn't come to the states until then
I was born on March 11th that year.
genuine cultured pearls lol

8:45. It was public domain (at the time) so they could do what they wanted...and yes make money with a different print of the film
