When I was 16 and saw his movie of Tosca. Not only hooked, but saw him 4 times and got his autograph. 60+ years later those were my ultimate opera moments.

I only discovered him four years ago! Up until then I never listened to opera due to not understanding Italian and not knowing what the operas were about! Thanks to the internet all that changed for me,now I listen to nothing else and for me Franco Corelli is the greatest! ❤️🔥

Corelli si rifaceva molto a Pertile, in quanto ad enfasi con un fraseggio più attuale con i suoi tempi . Per chi ci ha cantato o per lo meno sentiti a teatro Corelli al di là dell' aspetto fisico / visivo, aveva voce più estesa e potente, ma il magistero tecnico/ diaframmatico di Pertile a mio avviso rimane ineguagliato , tant' e ' che canto fino ai 60 anni. Probabilmente la grana timbrica di Corelli era più attraente senza arrivare alla bellezza di un del Monaco e sopratutto di un di Stefano. Ad ogni.modo tutte leggende del 900. Poi sui gusti non si disputa....
