    Now all we need is Canon to remove the 30 minute recording limit! 😝

    It doesn't sound like they solved it. They just bypass the safety. They just allow the camera to get even hotter, dangerously hot and most likely damaging and shortening the life of the electronics inside. This also means buying this camera second hand is especially bad idea since now you not only have to look at the actuations, but also wonder how much video recording at insane temperatures did they do, which is something you can't actually check. I think? I'm a newbie trying to research. Actually solving the issue is making it so it doesn't overheat, not to let it overheat more before going off on you.

    When the temp gets too high, is it possible for a card to become corrupted?

      @@AnthonyGugliotta I'm pretty butthurt about it. I love the camera but I can't have it shutting off on me while I'm filming a bride and groom leaving the ceremony down the aisle again like it did in May. I picked up the r5c not long after because I didn't want to drop r5 money and still have the overheating potential. Oh well. For now, I'm extremely happy with the r5c.

    I own the R6 and I was just out a few days ago when it was over 40°C (with humidity) outside in Ontario While my 2.5 year old rode his super slow little ATV. I just purchased the RF 70-200 F2.8 so I was testing it out with a mixture of photos and little clips of video (10 sec - 4min max). I noticed the handle getting warmer and warmer and by the time I got home I just saw the heat warning come on. We didn’t make it very far but I’d say we were outside for maybe about an hour and a half with some water breaks and the camera was not in use the entire time. My screen was in the closed position and my videos were 4K 30 FPS.
    I think this is the second or third time that I’ve seen the heat warning come on. First time was while recording my son‘s birthday I left the camera recording on a tripod while the party was going on.
    When I purchased the RF 70 to 200 I asked if it would drain batteries quicker with having to focus a larger lens [I am used to using the EF 24 to 70 F4] she told me there wouldn’t be any difference but I think there is a difference in battery life and maybe this contributed to additional heat. I also recently started to increased my screen brightness to the maximum of 7 when I usually keep it at 4 in sunny conditions but also use the EVF quite a bit.
    I don’t know why I put all these details but maybe it’ll help someone to know some of the intricacies that led to the heat warning on the R6.

  • @dps6198
    @dps6198 Год назад

    This is a totally bogus complaint. The average run time of a video posted to social media is 11.7 minutes and the R5 overheats after recording 20 minutes at 8K.
    If you're recording videos longer than the average you should be using a dedicated camcorder such as the Vixia HF G40 TO G70 or more professional video cameras from the big three.
    Though not stated in Canon's website they look to social media which is where the majority of recorded videos are posted.
    The real problem is uninformed amateur photographers or how I prefer to call them are people with cameras.

      @@rettabillyphotography6485 Someone is agree and knows exactly what I said is the Truth. :) Back in 2013 I had a friend who also a Photographer and he owned Canon 1Dx Mark 2 and I had a chance to test his 1Dx MK2. It was more heavy than my Canon 5DMK2 due to integrated battery grip But it felt really good in my hands. The Canon 1DxMK2 had Great Quality Build as my 5DMK2 which was Alloy Magnesium. Nowadays Canon gives New Technology, tries hard to compete with Sony and Nikon (who was LATE in the Game But now wake up to compete) but they CUT the Damn Build Quality Down. That's why I still keep my 5D2 for 15 years and own 2 Mirrorlesses cameras but they are NOT Canon, both had excellent Build Quality Better than Canon R5 and R6. Believe me, I tested Canon R6 and R5 and Disliked their build quality I CAN"T STAND them. I won't never invest my money on them, I never was into Canon R Mirrorless cameras Since their 5D series Legendary Iconic ERA.

      @@rettabillyphotography6485 I just wanted to say the Truth that most people seem to Ignore nowadays. When it comes to buy a New camera, they only care about the Specs. LOL! Back in 2013, I had a friend who was also a Photographer and he owned Canon 1DxMK1, it was heavier than my 5DMK2 but felt good in hands and the Build Quality was EXCELLENT build like a Tank. If you dropped it, it won't break apart. Believe me, I have tested Canon R5 and R6, R6MKII in my Hands Nowadays, they all have same Crappy cheapo Build Plastic Quality which I can't Stand it. I own Two Mirrorless Cameras but they are NOT Canon, have excellent Build Quality. I never was into Canon R Mirrorless cameras ever since their 5DMK1, 2, 3 and 4 Legendary and Iconic ERA. The Truth is: It looks like Canon decided to give new tech, tries to compete hard with Sony and Nikon (who was Late in the game, now Back!) but they CUT DOWN build quality as low as possible to save money... :)

    this is stupid. Canon knows heating the camera to 50 C will shorten electronic life down the road. Sure you get what you want now, but a few years latter you find out your need a new motherboard. Why not just spend the $400 and get the custom coper heat sink from KOlari Vision modificaiton so your camera actually cools down???
