This was actually recommended to me from comments on the storage build. I decided to take the comments onboard and give the people what they want! I’m very happy with how it turned out and I hope others feel the same! Thank you for your comment!
Great build, as always, PHINQS! One solution to the darkwood cross 2nd beam not snapping is to put a wood beam 1 meter from the 45 degree cross behind, going out, and snap it to that.
I just came across using the little headlamp thing you can buy from the dealer for indoor lighting. If you use it on a vertical itemstand/holder that faces a wall relatively high up, you can hide the bright flare of the lamp, creating a nice blue/greenish light underneath. Didnt see it in any video yet so maybe you could make use of it in a future video of yours. Cheers to your amazing builds!
Oh yes! I actually saw that once before and completely forgot about it so thank you for reminding me! I will keep it in mind for my next build video and see if I can incorporate it somehow. I am really glad you enjoy my videos. It is great to hear that people find value out of the time I put into this channel. Thanks for your comment and here's to many more videos!
You are not alone in wanting this. I keep meaning to include a materials list. However, I always forget when it actually comes to recording. I will try to include it in future videos! Thanks for your constructive feedback!
These are dope, it’s awesome that you use materials that can be easily substituted as well. I haven’t made it to the most lands. So I’ve been using stone walls instead of marble. The torches themselves are plenty of light as well. And I can use the dark wood dividers as a cool alternative to the metal walls in front of the hearth. I’ve been wanting to make a permanent base. So I’ve wanted to go all out. These videos are perfect for it. Thanks…
I like to minimise the use of black marble as much as possible. For example, I will normally stick to a stone floor rather than a black marble floor. I would be interested to see what this looks like when built with only stone and wood as I have never built it in that variation.
@@phinqsI’m going to try it with stone and wood this coming week. Wish me luck! I don’t think of myself as a “builder”, so your videos have been incredibly helpful- thanks!
@@merindahthornton5080 Good luck! The first builds which I created on Valheim were nothing like the videos you see on my channel. I am sure that your skills will develop as you expose yourself to more and more content like this video.
A tip for the floor not glitching through the carpet; you can either use a 1x1 wooden floor and place the carpet on top and leave it like that, or use a 2x2 wooden floor and place the carpet overlapping the wooden floor, you can delete the wooden floor after the carpet is in place and it will stay there. Bonus tip for placing decorations on stone walls with this same problem, you can use the same method as i mentioned above, only instead of wooden floors you can use a wooden sign or flip over an item stand with the back facing towards you. If you use the sign for example to place a scone on a stone wall, you can demolish the sign after you placed the scone.
Thank you for these great tips. I actually encountered this problem again with the carpet in my most recent video and so, decided to use the black marble floor instead. I'll definitely remember this for the future though. I knew about this for wall-hanging decorations but didn't think of it for carpets/rugs. Thanks again!
I'm planning on creating a new Home-base and was going to already copy your build for that crafting area that's in this video as well. Now this build looks quite interesting to add onto that like you have done. All I need now is an area for Blacksmithing and Woodworking Plus, a nice roomy cooking area.
I am very happy to hear it. I do also have a cookhouse build that has a similar style to this build - it may help with inspiration, at least! I would be really interested to see what you come up with when it is done. I do have a Discord server that you can share your builds in, as well as talk about other features in the game. Feel free to join if you would like.
Perfect, just what I was looking for. I want to have the room far from everything, on an island, connected with portals. So I only have to have a maximum comfort room for the different bases or workshops.
Loving the combination of this with the storage room and portal hub. Looking forward to the smelting area. My old base was a disaster, so I have been working to rebuilt it from the ground up before fighting Moder.
Woah - thanks for your support across all of my videos! The smelting area will most likely be my next upload and from what I have built so far it looks like it will bring together the aesthetic of the comfort room and storage house with the portal hub! What's the farthest these things need to be from you to get the bonus from them? the room i have all my stuff is 2 floors with just a staircase no walls or doors on the upper floor so does it spread all the way up there?
Good question. I could be wrong here but I believe that each item has its own comfort radius. For example, the campfire can range around eight metres, whilst the hearth will reach to around 12 metres. I have found that it is best to spread all the comfort items around the edges of a room to ensure the middle of the room can provide the maximum available comfort. Hope this helps!

After that, I will design a small garden area which focusses on the maypole as a main feature. I find it hard to incorporate natural maypoles into the inside of structures.
The developers have changed the maximum comfort level since release. The comfort effect of rugs used to stack on top of each other. Therefore, it is likely that you were watching an older video. Otherwise, it is probably a mod.
Thanks for the comment. However, maximum level comfort is actually 18, not 17, haha! I know what you mean though. I consider maximum comfort to be 16 as you cannot build a maypole and yule trees are seasonal, and have now been removed from the game until next holiday season!

It used to be. However, since the most recent update the absolute maximum is 18 (with a maypole and yule tree) which I talk about in the video. However, yule trees are seasonal and maypoles are not buildable items. Therefore, I have not included them in my video, other than to mention that they exist. Thanks for your comment!

The absolute maximum is 18, you are correct. However, in the video, I explain that a comfort level of 16 is the maximum you can achieve "without the use of a Maypole, or the seasonal Yule Tree". Both the Maypole and the seasonal Yule Tree provide an additional one comfort level each.
The current max without building next to a maypole and using the seasonal Yule tree is 16. Also, money stacks do not currently provide any comfort, as of the Mistlands update! You may be playing with a mods or on an old patch if you have a comfort greater than 18. Thanks for the comment!
@@phinqs Well you just could test it yourself. the little money stack gives you +1. the effekting area is low so you might have to build more than one stack, but isn't like you need the money for something else... It's up to you but if you didn't know it so far, you might are wrong with 16 for beeing max. I saw a video with 21 max. but with yule tree and may pole as setting.
