The problem is the get rich quick mentality of the average gambler. When going into betting, take it as a pass time. Start with a small amount, like under 1000. Dont bet your house or livelihood on it. Respect the fact that you can lose, so when you lose, you wont be pained. Its the same approach that has helped me in forex trading.

Upon our investigations, the guy was not only owing the lady but a lot of others including his co-workers. Apparently he used all those monies for sports betting, sold items in his room for sports betting and his mom is now trying to settle his debts.

@@davidafams2419of course, the more you lose, the more you try to recover your loss. or when you play a game and you probably win something small, the urge to persist will also descend on you. Either way, there's only one route out. STOP!!!!. it's hard tho, even if you delete the account or self-exclude yourself, you'd always find a way to open another one, you'd buy a new SIM or use someone else's number. Even if you block your bank accounts, you'd still find another way. That's how crazy addiction is.
So the first step towards relinquishing addiction is acceptance. Bro you're addicted!!!
secondly, forget about your losses. it's hard but, know for sure you'd make more money when you channel the same energy into doing other stuffs like business or via a skill.
Thirdly, forgive yourself for making such huge mistake.
If you can,, share it with your wife or friends who have a strong negative view about it, not friends who will tell you " you can win big one day".
I'd conclude by giving you some instances i came across when I was dealing with the same phenomenon. A British guy who happened to be a teacher, kept borrowing money from the parents of his students and stole money from school account after wasting all he has on virtals and other gambling ensemble.
Now his secret has been exposed, got arrested, now he has to pay through his nose for the rest of his life. He has over half a billion pounds in debt. I wonder how he will be able to pull off with that. I saw all the people who are struggling with the same thing on RUclips. so the earlier you stop the better, else you'd accrue more debt than you could ever imagine.
I almost committed suicide when I had my own issue. My customers kept threatening me and made the whole thing look so obvious that people stopped patronizing me, but thank God I stopped, I work everyday to pay off my debt and I'm almost done with that.
Lastly people who are winning have their own luck and their own Tactics, they've also lost a lot of money but luck is always there for them once in a while. but the same luck is always against many people. out of 100 people only two or three have that kind of luck. so is better you do a business with your money than gamble it off, because it's not even a 50/50 game. betting is designed to make you lose that's all, that's why you see people working in betting companies driving big cars, they're all scammers.

This is so true. One thing I also learnt about those people ask you to join their betting groups and post big wins.
I learnt they work with the betting companies, provide them with some monies in their bet account (very catchy amounts). They use that money to stake small odds, when they win they can’t withdraw the monies because it belongs to the betting company. That’s why you always see big monies in their bet accounts. If you truly won that money what is the money doing in your bet account and not your bank account.

Gambling thrives on Greed, Hope and Addiction. Once you are hooked up to the trend,it is very difficult to opt out. I have been betting since 2009,since the day of naijapredict, and nairabet some years later like 2011. What I noticed about betting is the addiction. You can't make it big time with sport betting. Just know that and know peace. I and my few friends have a basic strategy of milking the sport betting, but those betting companies have a crazy terms and conditions which are crazy and they can just delete your account with your funds. Betbonaza disabled my account of 460k in march, claiming I deposited with a third party account despite telling them and giving them all the required details. If you haven't start betting, just don't. If you're not addicted, pls stop. If you're addicted, ah! Only God can help you.

‘responsible gambling’ is a concept coined by the gambling industry through fraudulent academic research. It is solely seen as the responsibility of the ‘gamblers’, drawing attention away from other sites of responsibility, including that of the bookmakers, gambling operators, gambling product designers to provide less harmful products, promoters, as well as the governments to effectively regulate how gambling products are provided.

Thanks so much for raising this issue. I used to be addicted to online sports betting. Although I have never been scammed via the platform, the uncertainties surrounding the outcome of football matches made me lose so much money. Now I watch football for fun and I am trying my best to ensure that I don't get addicted to it either.

I have won most time ( and came close to hitting the big jackpot) but overall, I am extremely not addicted (done less than 10 bets the whole of 2023 as of writing this, I don't even feel the urge to).
Also know a friend who won a huge amount, and he wouldn't basically have to work again but has invested in big business.
I only partake when I have enough time to research matches and perform detailed analysis when choosing games.
There are some teams I never venture not matter what.
Also, I have a cap limit am willing to loose and have never gone beyond that.
Again to add, I don't chase lose.
I can go on and on but overall, as much as I have a lot of restrain I would never ever ask anyone to involve themselves in betting.

Futbol gambling on its own is not a scam.although naija sabi bring fraud into everything..futbol gambling is a game of win and lose..the odds are for one to lose more and win less. The best advice is abstinence or play wisely.. it is not a new thing. Same as pool of the olden days..It is just pool 2.0..

With all these report and expose' no one does anything. We have a regulatory board that does nothing. So pathetic. Betting needs strict regulation like it is in other countries.

If we advocate a ban on gambling now, people would call it a part of the so-called Islamisation agenda. A good Muslim wouldn't bet in the first place. Irrespective of what the society is engaged in, a Muslim would stay true to his faith that prohibits this act. Kudos to Jude for exposing this scandal anyway.
