I'm a local, the snow was literal concrete last year. unless you drop off of it and break your legs at the bottom then idk what else you could even do on this.
Corbett's Couloir is only ski run I refused to go down. Well because I never took any extreme skiing lessons at time. This was way back in March 1973 when we were there. All I have is memories now of out there and by own in the USAF going skiing in Colorado. When were at Jackson Hole Ski Resort, the all area ski lift ticket was just $10.00.
I saw a video of an 8 or 10 year old girl hit literally the same drop in on RUclips today. She made a great drop in and carved hard right out of frame. it was cool. Except she was on freshly packed powder, not a white sheet of ice and frozen snow... 😯 Glad you made it out safely. I hit an alpine chute in Whistler in the same conditions. Definitely my scariest run ever!
Just a question, why do people hit it in that spot where they have to make a sharp cut intead of dropping straight into the couloir and zoom straight down it
He was fuckin terrified for a good 2 seconds there lmao. Then it’s all just fun when you realize you’re Chillen. It’s a crazy intimidating drop in because snow is all white so you can’t really tell that it mellows out after like 15 feet. That first little bit if you fall like this guy could definitely give you a good scare for a second
@@JohnathanBuckhouse just kidding lol it reminded me of the scene where gollum falls down the cliff in return of the king haha cool vids mate keep it up
That’s a cool adaptive ski, we have lots of disabled guys ride those out here too. Maybe one day he will be able to really ski with real skis and beat his disability once and for all
@@JohnathanBuckhouse LOL yeah, we're all armchair quarterbacks!! I've always felt like dropping in there would be a lot easier on skis. You almost just have to bomb it on a board

That's not falling. That's a frontside 90 drop slide. Steezy
Best comment
It was backside actually, even steezier
Its ain't easy going Steezy
Sick send... where can I buy your pro goggles from? Amazon? I'll add it to my Dope/Montec gear.
I like your enthusiasm...your spirit... your vision
“Yeah i did corbets”
He wasn't ready. The fear got him. That was a deliberate sit down
Anytime you stay head up in Corbets is a win in my book!
Yeah, his skills hopping on the board told me he was not ready for that line! But courage to still go is top notch!

Same here 😅... We're all pro 🤟😜

Well at least he did it A lot of people that stare down that cliff and say fuck that shit
Yeah that’s what I usually do lmao
For a fall in it was pretty damn controlled 😂
Thanks! 😂
He was not ready…
But he will be. Keep training, young one.
If you went backwards,my anxiety would go over the roof
Better than I’d do for sure!
🤣😂
When the snow sounds like Styrofoam, that's how you know it's icy.
No it isn’t . It’s the sound of cold dense pack.
On the east coast we call that powder
actually that the sound of perfect edgeable snow
Well that’s one way to approach it
You can say you went down it :D
I say I fell into it 😂
wow, so elegant and majestic

Some days, I wouldn’t even head over there.
On good, first box type of days - right away.
✨ Falling with style ✨
The fact that Corbets ate you up like this should be fair warning to anyone else who thinks they’re ready.
Literally 😂

Smart safe bail! that's how you can keep snowboarding. Stay healthy
Why do you look like this. And mute it for Christ sake
luckily the tram wasn’t there
The angry snowboarder has this on replay hahahahahaa
As he should! Motivation to finally snowboard on his channel.
So smooth.
Looked well-prepared, surprised it turned out that way
All the preparation for all that grace.
Yes 🤣😂
The cameras never do justice. That’s sick tho!
For some reason you just made corbets coulior less scary than any other video ive seen of people dropping in there.
Must be the camera angle lol
That’s steep!

J bucky lookin like a fool😂😂😂😂
He went half-send. You never go half-send.
Just a question, why do people hit it in that spot where they have to make a sharp cut intead of dropping straight into the couloir and zoom straight down it
It happens when you drop. You make a quick turn to stop the velocity of your fall, then turn into the run after you drop
there's often a "goat path" that lets you enter with no air if you are not prepared for the speed of launching straight in
It is the only spot you can ride down without airing.
That’s okay. You didn’t need that extra 40mph anyways.
True 🤣😂
Imagine if this was the normal ice feast. Anytime I see the front bumpers on a snowboard. The epic fail is guaranteed
the good thing is the slope of the snow automatically funnels you away from the wall so you would have to really f up to hit it

You need to do that again , but props for showing it
Man you are living the life! So awesome!
Good shit. I would say wait for your buddy to get out of the way in case you get a good launch tho 😂
I remember watching the comp there when someone wallrode that rock
Yeah, the backside 360 to wallride, gnarliest thing ever done there for sure. Did you see the bottom of his board afterward? Chewed to shit!!
Ey, little one may have failed now, but the experience will stay. And nothing is a better teacher than failure

Nah that's just a sick drop in. We call that an ass blast in the business
That’s 50/50 ass grind

Bet they got fresher tracks than most in the comments section
😂
Still takes alot of balls lmao
I respect the send. But I feel like dropping from the other side would have worked so much better 😂
This was only one way in on this day.
@@JohnathanBuckhouse that's definitely not true

I backed out last season. Lol maybe when there’s freshies I’ll go for it.

I ski all the time and this noise bruh I can’t it gives me chills…. Fuck
Right 😂
Not the worst conditions to drop into this, but certainly not conditions worth trying.
Nice view
Should have used a parachute for this one.
That is so steep
This is why we love snowboarders, always scraping the snow off runs ❤👌👍
I think skiers made it icy first 😂
10-20 vertical feet of gnar then a gentle glade?
Flawless!
I've seen comments from skiers that apart from the initial drop, it's overrated.
Drop in bruh it’s like skating very. Love and light from the infinite creator.
Pants over high backs, check
