This is my second day in Chiang Mai.
No joke, when I got on the plane to leave, I was already imagining the next time I could get on a plane to come back and get this roast chicken. I know it is hard to believe that roast chicken could be so yummy, but sometimes there is beauty in simplicity.
Chiang Mai was a great experience as I also enjoyed the rest of my day, diving into flavors and dishes which I have never had the opportunity to try before. It was a great opportunity and I ready to keep going and keep learning.

NOT true.Thai Roast chicken is still very yummy . Food taste the same or even better and much more varieties than decade ago.
It's depend which vendor you choose to eat .It's quite prejudice and narraw mind set to generalized.
Food preference is subjective.Let's say YOU didn't like Thai Roast chicken from YOUR last taste 10 years ago would be more correct.
And please don't use the word EVERY THINGS I'm sure you've never tasted ALL Thai food up till now .
And fyi ,European and American tourist can't influence us ,Thailand the country, enough to change our food flavor to cater to them.Our BIG customers are local Thais.

I don't think so . It's seem you had limited expirences .You should try new vendors. I live in Thailand and still can't eat all vendors over the country , so many options and varieties to offer so I don't dare generalized all Thai food when I only ate a fraction .
Because I'm still have not taste all of Thai roast chicken vendors to generally judge them all.
And I'm still find new menus to enjoy.
Be fair. Just you ,your preferance and the vendors you ate that count.
But if you just want to be right I can understand. Just enjoy your fake win.

Great video! Love Chiang Mai. I was "stuck" there for 13 months during COVID. I can't wait to go back. Love her Khao Moo and also the Khao Soi you tried across the street from her. Hey, Mark Wiens can't steer us wrong. On the food side, I think your caramalized onions are pig skin and I think the egg with the Khao Moo is salted. I'm a novice travel vlogger too (Don't Squander Wander) so I appreciate your content. Keep em comin.

when you eat the fish i was half expecting you to choke on the fish bones but thankfully that wasn't the case. Oftentimes westerners are hesitant eating a fish like that but you did it with no problems. Colour me impressed.

The chicken grillhouse is just right next to where i used to live. And i say it is the best chicken ever. There is something in the taste u cant find anywhere else.

Based on my knowledge the northern Thai food shares the common heritage with the Shan, not Burmese.
On Nimman area, that grilled chicken eatery is good but surprisingly unpopular among locals, but because tourists love it so it's quite famous. Actually that small take-away shops on the footpath that you shot after leaving that eatery is quite popular among the locals.

That chicken looks amazing. I had some good island chicken in Koh Chang once. Thailand does chicken and pork right. I would say beef is lacking the tenderness.
