Sukhothai (สุโขทัย), is the Ancient capital city of Siam, a city that’s packed with history. I was excited to visit, and this was my first trip to Sukhothai. We arrived in the late afternoon from Bangkok after about a 5 hour drive. We checked into Sriwilai Hotel (tour coming up soon), really amazing hotel, highly recommended. Had a quick swim and then headed out for dinner. #Thailand #Sukhothai
There was a restaurant we were trying to go to eat at in the center of Sukhothai new city, but they were closed, so we headed back to the old city and went to a restaurant called Sureerat Restaurant (ร้านอาหารสุรีรัตน์โภชนา). Turned out to be a great restaurant, in an old wooden house, situated right across the street from the market, and within the old city of Sukhothai.
Here are the dishes we tried:
Jungle curry beef (แกงป่าเนื้อ)
Mixed vegetables (ผัดผักรวม)
Fried egg salad (ยำไข่ดาว)
Fried fish (ปลาทับทิมทอด)
Total price - 450 THB ($14.54)

I loved my first impression of Sukhothai, laid back and charming. In later videos, you’ll get a full hotel tour, and a main street food and Sukhothai attractions tour on my main channel.

I really really appreciate this video because it shows how a family can enjoy a destination together! Micah gets to play in the pool. Ying gets to order the food. Mark gets to video the experience for his job. We get to see where we can take our own families! Perfect!!!

I went there in 2010 December. A wonderful trip. Took the bus from Bangkok Mo chit. Easy 6 hour day drive. Stopped for lunch. Pretty views out the window

I stayed in a simple little hotel near the night market. 200 baht a night! It had all I needed, comfy bed, bath. Quiet and peaceful. The ruins were a marvel to walk around. Might rent a bike next time

Yeah, that's tourist area, so you payed tourist price for the food. Down town in new Sukhothai you would probably pay about 10-30% less... but in Pattaya the price would probably be close to +50-100% instead.
You should try to go to Sukhothai Historical Park (UNESCO World Heritage) for the Loy Kratong festival. There are lot's of people but having the ruins light up, fireworks and so on at night makes it a really nice experience (Sukhothai is said to be the birthplace of the Loy Kratong Festival).

Dude, I think you could dip a dry schnitzel into that sauce and it would taste delicious. You add the fact that these people would be out of business for serving bad meals, so it has to be good. All it takes to understand and respect this, for that you are the ambassador. :)
