Daddy was my home. Now my body is my home, and my daddy's love lives inside. My home is the new encounters I'll have throughout my life. I'll accept them as I go along, but my father will always be the foundation. I welcome you all.
I’m 74. Played the guitar and harmonized with friends, and i’m so glad i found you kids. You’re all amazingly talented…music is in you. It heartens me.
So nice to see the two of you perform together again. Reina: You always have a gift for lyrics, that shows up nicely in this song. Josh: You always seem to have a real sense for what a song needs, and that shows up nicely in this song. You two make great music together, those of us out in RUclips land are blessed to observe and enjoy. Coffee cheers.
I had the same thought- I thought did I miss a bob dylan , or Gordon lightfoot or guy clark song somewhere along the way?. This song and performance imho are Granmy winning level stuff
That this circle of young musicians appear with one another is a treasure. We truly are blessed to listen to them, watch them right here on RUclips. I've been a fan of Josh's for many years and meeting his friends has been a delight. I subscribe to my favorites and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks Reina and Josh for this gift of music.
You are right on the mark. The music that Reina, Josh, and all their friends and associates make the best stuff I've heard in a long, long time, and (bonus) they all seem like nice people too.
I agree, what a nice setting for this song too, a park. If you notice, the shadows in the background are different colors including purple. This song is addictive too, can't get it out of my head all day after hearing it. That's good, yes that's good.
Hey. I went on a summer hiatus....on the road of some deep soul search...I did leave many things behind me knapsacks, fave t-shirts....and the useless shadows....fasted lost a pound or 10.....I am here now...with a touch of hindsight, and a clearer lens I am looking through....when I listened to this beauty of a duet, lyrics and all....I smiled .....
I’ve listened to a lot of her covers with various musicians, and a fair amount of her originals, but I’m always drawn back to the simplicity of this song. Any musician knows exactly the feelings this song so eloquently spells out. Performing demands sacrifice, but we’re driven to continue, and indeed each show extracts a bit of our soul. So nicely written.
I guess I'm getting old but these two young folks just seem to have talent way beyond their years. They must have picked up a guitar before their first birthday. Truly outstanding artists.
Clever lyrics that remind me of a long expired Eurail pass, a lovely chord progression, and the two of you who fit like the fingers of holding hands. Clicking on play-all, the kids can eat later...
Reina is at her best when singing her songs. She is an excellent wordsmith. Like she said, Josh makes everything he touches musically a little better. His vocal on this is outstanding. With these lyrics, this song will be sung by every performer around the world.
I shared some Reina Del Cid songs with my slightly older sister (50) the other night, saying how good she was; she agreed... saying "that was absolutely brilliant" to the Strange Magic E.LO. cover... Then, within 10 minutes she'd shared with me the Baby Driver cover off Josh's channel and stating that "Josh Turner is really good, I love this"... and while I understood that she loved his musical prowess, the other truth is, she finds him cute 😉, well, to be fair, who here doesn't find these two both inspiring and adorable at the same time? 🤷
Such a well crafted song. Josh is perfect (vocals, guitar, style) as the duet partner for this. I always miss Toni though when she's not involved. She also adds something special every time too.
Great layered arrangement. Single guitar, then joined by second guitar, alternating vocals, then harmonies, into the bridge, etc. That’s how you turn such a simple song into something so rich that people want to listen to over and over
Anyone else noticed the ring on Josh's left hand? Wishing you all the best Josh! And both: you made my day - awesome song, great performance! Thank you so much!
Wow every time I think Toni couldn't do a more perfect performance, she does. Beautiful vocals and guitar on this one. Like it better than the original.
Very strong essayist's lyric in the way that every phrase reinforces the theme. A thinking listener's song. Much as I miss Toni when she's not there, this instance of your creativity on top of the synergy of your pairing with Josh makes this also a sensual listener's song.
Musical genius. Yes indeed. If you youngsters were around in the late 60’s when I was listening you’d be bigger than most. Beautiful you guys just incredible.
As most road musicians know, relationships are tough to maintain when traveling the country entertaining. Great song. These young folks show there is much promise to keep the great music flowing. Burlington Bill here, busking from the road and home. (also on you-tube, and married for 52 years to beautiful Rosalie)
Mmmn, mmmn... This is one of your very best, Reina. My favorite line: "I lost a pound in every town..." YES! It says so much, makes the listener infer just a bit, which always makes for extra gut-punch. Mmmph! /// Also, superb melody, and superb Josh.
Beautiful number. I love old Irish folk song. Both Josh and the girl sing beautifully. I listened to Josh sing a number of times. He has a beautiful tenor singing voice. Every note is perfect.
Another winner ballad from Reina...my favorite since Morse Code. The charge we get out of listening to you (Reina, Toni, Josh, Carson, and your extended musical family) derives not only from the sweet sounds you send us, but from the love of music and one another that you clearly put into them.
Thank you for the insight into a more somber aspect of your being a travelling musician. Yearning for a lover, loneliness, regret... these are relatable, universal emotions that are being evoked. Once again, you've shown us the incredible depth of your songwriting; not with lofty concepts, but by simply speaking from your heart. Awesome!
You know it‘s a good Song if you listen to it 4 times in a row, decide to learn it, play it a few times and then finally listen to it 10 times again.
Still doing this 👍
Daddy was my home. Now my body is my home, and my daddy's love lives inside. My home is the new encounters I'll have throughout my life. I'll accept them as I go along, but my father will always be the foundation. I welcome you all.
Reina's songs and Josh's guitar, these are a few of my favorite things.
Admiring his effortless fingerpicking too.
This comment might actually have enough syllables to fit the melody of ‘My favorite things’
Great job guys
I’m 74. Played the guitar and harmonized with friends, and i’m so glad i found you kids. You’re all amazingly talented…music is in you.

Me too.

Smartly said
@Comptefurtif HA watch out guys don't comment how nice someones video made you feel, you might be seen as "selfish"
Very well said!
somebody is still writing good music!
This is simply one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Grown man crying 😢
The more I listen to this it becomes more and more obvious that I can never listen to this enough.
Two years later and still a gem!
What a drop dead beautiful song. Simple, heartfelt, melodic...John Prine is looking down from Guitar Heaven & saying, "I wish I wrote that!"
I'm spreading this.
What are you doing here? lol
Love youur channel
wuut! legend kkk
Yeah...you brought me here! Love your channel
Thanks for this. Awesome song.
Thanks for the recommendation!
She writes good songs. He makes them better.
I was wondering which legend you were covering here, then realized it's an original. Absolutely beautiful, cheers
That´s exactly what i thought! This song is great!!!
I had the same thought- I thought did I miss a bob dylan , or Gordon lightfoot or guy clark song somewhere along the way?. This song and performance imho are Granmy winning level stuff
I always admire Joshn playing.

We’ll said.

I couldn't find any better words. These young musicians are more than a joy to listen to, they are a consolidation in this world of today.
This song is so close to Morse Code in terms of emotional impact! So powerful!
Gorgeous vocals. Delivery, warmth, depth, meaning. That hit me.
Very nice balade and duet... I'm76' and it's one of my new favorite sons... From France
Excuse... SONGS!!
😊
I like when you 2 sing a play together and the others also
What. A. Song.
What. A. Performance.
Magnificent on every level.

Jesus..what a great f**king song...
Amazing. Brilliant. Thanks.
A beautiful and wonderful song.
I hope Reina, Josh, Toni and Carson tour again, and I hope they come to Indiana.
Very clever lyrics Reina
Two from a circle of Talent. Who needs radio?
I can't stop watching this video. It's fantastic.
Always one of my favorite.
When i think I almost lost my phone in Somerville! 😁
I don't know whether to cry sad tears for the song, or happy tears hearing you two play together again.
This makes the world a better place…
I was grateful to see Reina del Cid perform this genuine work of art in Denver 08/11/22. I wish you peace, Rachel.
Reina dominates. When she write a Halloween song, she writes _the_ Halloween song. Here she wrote _the_ road song.
her voice is so pleasant,my ears feel blessed

Another amazing performed song... as you always do 😘😘🎶 all the best for you... thanks for enjoying me!
Extremely beautiful woman and a great voice !!!!!!!!! Hello from Huntington Beach California
What a nice ending of the weekend. 🤩 Thanks Reina and Josh
I guess I'm getting old but these two young folks just seem to have talent way beyond their years. They must have picked up a guitar before their first birthday. Truly outstanding artists.
Great reaction to the Dublin line at the Dublin show this week. Every performance a jewel
Music at its best.!😘
You kids have no idea how your music has been saving me .
Always love these two together
Josh's singing has gotten better. Not that there were any faults before. More mature and sensitive. I hope Toni enjoyed a weekend off.
Love it.
@3:50 that explains why Reina has 'guitar bump syndrome'. Wonderful song!!
Finally, another Reina and Josh duet! Oh, Happiness, thou hast found me.
That's just plain good.
Great. Gotta say I miss Toni. However, Josh is an excellent standin. Have a good week.
Clever lyrics that remind me of a long expired Eurail pass, a lovely chord progression, and the two of you who fit like the fingers of holding hands. Clicking on play-all, the kids can eat later...

Now that boy can play G! I thought he even made it sound like a piano.
My God, this is a beautiful song. Thank you.

Loved both voices in this song. I don’t think anyone could do it better.
This will become another Reina and Josh-classic👍😎🎼
OMW. What a rush.!
Superb music for country souls all over.!
Can never get enough of Reina and Josh! So pure and perfect!
That's just as good a road song as has ever been written.
Excellent Reina and Josh!
Hay una excelente química entre ambos. Musical.
the voice of the two by the way
Just came home from a 4 day 4 show tour, played this one every night. Great song, really feeling it right now
Great layered arrangement. Single guitar, then joined by second guitar, alternating vocals, then harmonies, into the bridge, etc. That’s how you turn such a simple song into something so rich that people want to listen to over and over
I agree. Good description of a solidly-written song.
Thanks for your mind from germany!
Anyone else noticed the ring on Josh's left hand? Wishing you all the best Josh!
And both: you made my day - awesome song, great performance! Thank you so much!
I noticed the ring. Great tune 👌
He and Kelly married a while back.
Thanks Josh and Reina.
Absolutely stunning. I love your duos.
I wish you'd come retrieve your comb some day :)
Wow every time I think Toni couldn't do a more perfect performance, she does. Beautiful vocals and guitar on this one. Like it better than the original.

Genius. A really beautiful and well-crafted song
So natural. Just so incredibly natural!
This is SUCH a good song up there with Lodi, Postcard, and Faithfully.
I instantly thought of their duet on Postcard when I heard this. They always make good music but this is just superb.
Just 2 acoustic guitars with 2 great voices …. put them togehter and you get such an magnificient Song!
What a beautiful song. Can't wait till november in Amsterdam.
Me neither. Let's give Reina back her coat she left in Amsterdam.
And another year passed by. The world is not the same anymore. I hope next monday in Amsterdam will be like coming home.
This song is the reason I never chased my music completely. I never wanted to lose myself.
Reina’s writing has always been so consistently solid, insightful, and beautiful. such a talent. and Josh Turner’s voice just gets better and better!

Sweet, sweet, sweet…with a hint of tear drops. Beautiful! ✌️❤️☕️
She gives Josh the best verse, and then we can all enjoy his irrespressible smile when he helps sing the heartwrenching payoff line.
Beautiful! Nice to hear this song just before the day ends here in The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Fantastic u fullas dunno how many times ive watched suspect wont never get tired of this
Another great performance
By two great artists
This song bring me feelings that I don't know where they come from... I'm crying and I don't know why😢😭
Mmmn, mmmn... This is one of your very best, Reina. My favorite line: "I lost a pound in every town..." YES! It says so much, makes the listener infer just a bit, which always makes for extra gut-punch. Mmmph! /// Also, superb melody, and superb Josh.
they are young and have life to vibe & share their beautiful melodic soul
thank you you are wonderful
Beautiful original song! Reminds me of something Jackson Browne might have written back in the day.
Beautiful number. I love old Irish folk song. Both Josh and the girl sing beautifully. I listened to Josh sing a number of times. He has a beautiful tenor singing voice. Every note is perfect.
Great song. Exquisite vocals. Thank you.
Sounds like a helluva tour. Sign me up.

BRAVI !!! GREAT !!!!
Beautiful harmony ! Very pleasant ! Hello from France !
I love this song. That's some Simon&Garfunkel level stuff.
Beautiful song Reina!!! You and Josh just nailed it!!! Love both of your voices!!!
Man, that's a great song...the guitars are perfect! More please.
Thank you for the insight into a more somber aspect of your being a travelling musician.
Yearning for a lover, loneliness, regret... these are relatable, universal emotions that are being evoked.

I find myself humming this tune all the time.
