      Camelina germination viability drops significantly after a year. One of my grad students has a project on winter oil seeds, and camelina is one of the crops used in her project. We noticed that the germination is poor with older seeds.

      I have used 1:15 for years. I give the seeds a 30 minute soak, then plant them and dribble a little of the peroxide solution right into the planting hole. H2O2 turns to H2O rather quickly, so there is no concern about continual soaking in H2O2.

    So once seeds root, place them into a rooting media?

      Yes, when you see the radicle coming out of seed, transfer them to culture media for their organ development.

    Try putting the seeds near a South Pole magnetic field 😉 What also seems to work well is putting the seeds in to structured water.

    So to summarize what you did: You soaked the seeds directly in a 0.3% hydrogen peroxide solution until you see the radicle?

    • @PlantCellTechnology
      @PlantCellTechnology  2 года назад

      Yes. And then transferred it to tissue culture cups containing TC media.

    • @golfshoe9321
      @golfshoe9321 2 года назад

      @@PlantCellTechnology Actually, I grow hydroponically, specifically kratky. The media remains to be just fertilizer and water. Once I have a root, I'm good. I have this test running now actually with three variables: 0.3% peroxide alone and with scarification, and just water all on a 83F heating mat in open light.

    You say 1 part peroxide to 9 parts water, but in your newer video you said 1 part peroxide to 19 parts water.
    ruclips.net/video/ErMyL8ag6go/видео.htmlsi=lbCZHVFGZ6yQhB5V&t=44 9 vs 19 is a very large discrepancy.

      Its physical properties are very similar to those of water, except that it is denser. No one is forcing you to use H2O2, keep using water if you want. Some of us though like to try new things and discover new ways of germinating seeds.

      We didn't give it a try on Blueberry seeds. But, maybe you can work with a few of them to see how it goes. It only requires H2O2, water, and sugar.
