How the hell are you able to pay attention to each instrument, the rhythm, AND the lyrics at the same time?! My mind can not multitask like that! Craziness!
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
Yes the cast are snapping their fingers, and later on they do a lot of the beats by banging on tables or straight up beatboxing on stage :) It's an absolutely amazing (and massive) production, you need to see the disney+ version. The choreo and use of props and lighting adds so much to the actual words of this masterpiece!
Thank you for checking out Hamilton! First, two quick corrections: -In the live play, the actors are doing the snaps. I don't know if more people in the pit are snapping, but does seem to be just the actors. -The "Me, I loved him" is actually three people singing, rather than a layered vocal. Would love to see you react to the rest of Hamilton! Although it's possible to get the story through just the soundtrack since it's all music, I'd highly suggest a visual element. It would definitely help in keeping track of each character's voices and the story as a whole. Since you're listening to the studio recording, you might want to check out animatics instead of the Disney+ version. Although, if you're actually listening to the entire first act in one sitting like you implied (meaning you may have already recorded reactions to the soundtrack), then go ahead and watch the Disney+ version on your own! They give time between the acts, so if you're not planning on watching act 2 straight away you won't spoil yourself. Thank you again for checking Hamilton out!
In addition, seeing it helps in showing how ridiculously talented the cast who play multiple characters are. Seeing Daveed Diggs go from Lafayette to Jefferson is amazing.
I'm not 100% positive, but I believe they started the rapping slow so that members of the audience who aren't used to listening to rap could be slowly introduced to following along.
great reaction, I don't know anything about music itself and its technical terms but I love watching people talk about it specially when it comes to Hamilton lol ps: to answer your question, all the instruments were played live every show, the only part that they used a sample was in the "rewind" section in satisfied, you'll get there.
It's live instrumentals. There's a video floating around on here somewhere where they went backstage and they spent a decent amount of time talking to the musical director for the show breaking stuff down. The band is under the stage. From what I remember, It's like a percussionist, two or three people on strings, and the musical director on a keyboard. And If I remember correctly they used a drum pad I guess you'd call it for the snaps but the actors are snapping along on stage too.

The music is played live by the orchestra except for a couple sounds here and there (like 3 - 5 total) throughout the musical. Certain sounds are also made by actors banging or snapping.
You did an amazing job reacting to this. I’m obsessed with Hamilton and I over analyze the lyrics, the characters, and the story. It was thought provoking to watch someone analyze the music in this way.
From what Alex said in the videos and the documentary, they perform(ed) every note every night. What you're not seeing is the sound/electronics engineer in the pit instantly changing the color of the keyboards (and sometimes the drums, but never the string quartet) on a dime. That person is as much a part of the orchestra as anyone who actually has hands on a musical instrument. And before anyone asks, the guitarist does switch to banjo for those numbers.
I would LOVE to have a hamilton playlist from you!! I cannot wait to see more of this from you, I listened to the soundtrack before seeing the show which helped me a LOT because it's SOO wordy and I kept missing parts! Thank you for choosing Hamilton to react to, it doesnt get any attention from any of my favs.
FYI - in the live musical, everything is played live. They have some samples that they trigger in real time, and there's a cool real-time audio delay that they implement in "Wait For It," but all the instruments, samples, percussion, and on-stage sounds are live. It's incredibly impressive.
Diana Ankudinova is a young performer who shocks us with her pleasant voice and takes us into the abyss of events!!! Diana Ankudinova is unique and inimitable, goosebumps from her voice!=)))) Diana sings as if she lives in the song! The soul freezes or opens with Diana's voice.=))))))) I am a musician who has been with music for years, and believe me, I have not heard such a tone in all these past years. 1000000%!!!🔥🔥🔥🎤🎤🎤🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶......Amazing Amazing Amazing---Beauty in every minute!!!
Something I haven’t seen mentioned at all that I find interesting - they actually cut the piano riff on the pickup into “my name is Alexander Hamilton” from the live show pretty quickly because Hamilton started getting so much entrance applause that it became easier to just come back in on the next downbeat Also - regarding samples - everything is played live but the two drummers have sample pads and computers running Ableton, which triggers sound effects as well as a click track for automation/lighting sync on certain songs. The two keyboards are heavily programmed and the bass player also has a synth bass.
The actors on stage are fake snapping (but it looks real! 🙂). The snaps the audience hears are fed through a track. Main reason being that there's a lot of movement on stage so it's hard to pick up snaps through mics without introducing a lot of noise. Having the snaps on a track helps the soundboard operator focus on keeping the actors' vocals + musicians balanced. Also helps establish a clean first-impression for the audience.
Please do a reaction to hamildrop "First Burn". It is a song told from the point of view of Eliza Schuyler, Alexander Hamilton’s wife, as a reaction to the recount of his affair in the Reynolds Pamphlet, in lieu of “Burn” from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hamilton. First Burn" is the fifth song in Hamildrops and was released in April, 2018. This was the first draft of the song Burn sung by Eliza in Act 2. It was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, produced by Alex Lacamoire and Mike Elizondo and performed by Lexi Lawson, Arianna Afsar, Shoba Narayan, Rachelle Ann Go, and Julia Harriman, who have each played Eliza in the show in various Hamilton companies.
Please make a reaction to a young, very popular singer in world. Videos from this singer collect hundreds of millions of views. Diana Ankudinova is now only 17 years old. She has a very unique, very deep, clear voice. Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach) said about the performance of this girl: Really really exceptional! Even if you ignore her age, even is she was 10, 20, 30 years older, this is still a really exceptional performer here that we're seeing. But at her age, unbelievable. Really really exceptional! Absolutely gorgeous! And again, not just because of her voice, because her performing, watching how nuanced and engaging her performance is. Ah, it's just so stunning. It's absolutely amazing.
Coming back to this eagerly awaiting new videos, thank you for posting so often :) And since you talk about the lyrics a lot in this song you should listen to Lin Manuel Miranda singing this song at the White House for President Obama in 2009 years before the musical debuted! You can hear where he’s changed lyrics and ideas and he also gives a little overview of the musical which is amusingly given a few skeptical chuckles haha
It would be awesome if you reacted to the whole musical ( or the first act to start with) so you can see what is going on while the song is playing :)))
You may be interested in this video that shows the orchestra pit from the theater where Hamilton was performed. It has the musical director from Hamilton talking about the music. I don't think the snaps were recorded. I think they were just performed by the cast. Well, they snapped while on stage at least. But, I'm not sure. ruclips.net/video/jHs0NVvTxHY/видео.html
Hello! Thank you for the video! Please react to Into the sky songs, Wicked Game, Take On Me🌞🌞🌞DIANA ANKUDINOVA is a talented young singer. I would like to know your opinion. I think you will be surprised. Diana has a very unusual voice and artistic presentation for her age.🌹🌹🌹 Thanks in advance!

Questlove and Black Thought of the Roots were executive producers on the album. Questlove’s influence as a drummer comes thru as a producer.
