This sounds almost identical to the Chandler Halderson case. He lied about going to school and basically his entire life and right as the parents had come to the conclusion that he’s been lying and they attempt to confront him, he killed them.

  • @ameswho9548

The "crying" is because she's hearing how utterly ridiculous & stupid her actions & lies were. It's NOT because she murdered her mom in such a horrendous way. I swear every now & then, she's holding back a smile or grin. This entire crime is beyond sickening. Not everybody dealing with "temporary" mental illness kills their own mother. Kids lie. Everybody has lied. Parents may be upset, disappointed but it's NOT the end of the world. How did she think this would fix anything???? Sydney & Chandler might become pen pals.

This case is a little too close to home for me I’m afraid. May this mother rest in peace. Accountability among the young generation is far beyond lacking.
This is the problem. Reality is not a part of their lives. It is time for this the end.
Games, videos, phones, no connection to the real world. No morals, empathy, or compassion is felt anymore.
She needs full maximum penalty for murder. Nothing will change without justice.

You're absolutely correct. I'm 41 and have a 15 and 13 yr old. Even tho at times it hurts to follow through with consequences I remind myself it is for their own good. There is no yelling, no cussing and no hitting at home. But trust me if I had to I would. But I think the fact that I follow through and they have consequences I haven't had. I pray I raise good moral God fearing children.

I’m with you, myself and my husband have 3 sons now aged 52, 47 and 45 we were far too nosey to have this situation happen! All 3 of our sons are happy productive members of society, our eldest has just retired after 30 years as a Police Officer, second son works in the City and our youngest son served as a Royal Marine from 2000 to 2013, served in Afghanistan, two tours in Iraq where he was shot and luckily survived. My point is they were taught that no means no for valid reasons! Unfortunately that appears to be not the World we live in today, the World is too politically correct. I do apologise for my tirade but I’m getting sick of these stories! 😘

She was treated like a child all the way through. Even all the panels that came on Court TV to discuss this still talked about her as if she was just a child. The jury ultimately saw through it all and made the perfect decision. GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS. Unfortunately, Ohio will allow her to seemingly get off easy on this.

I lied to my parents about still being in college after I’d dropped out. As soon as I got busted - I fessed up and they made sure I had consequences but also a new plan. Her parents definitely were disappointed BUT not to the point of the poor mother needing to be murdered. They would’ve moved past it. This girl didn’t want that tho. She thought she could just eliminate her own mom and problem solved. SICK!

How long do we have to look at a murderer with a dry kleenex, pretending she's crying?!?! She certainly knew right from wrong when she quickly made up a story about intruders! Her dad and family are in denial thinking "my child could have never done this unless she's mental. "She reminds me of Chandler that killed both his parents because he wasn't ènrolled in college and his parents thinking he was ready to graduate! She is a liar, unable to face the fact that she couldn't do college academic work. Although she still wanted to attend parties and such.
