    I'm really glad you posted this. I come from a long history of karting and enjoy pointy cars. I only purchased the Cadillac, and got 2nd in my last race but was absolutely smacked by another driver in other cars, and barely held off someone in an Acura. I noticed in like 5 races there were very few Cadillacs, and thought maybe I made the wrong decision. All while, absolutely loving the handling of the Cadillac. But after this review, you made it clear I dont have to waste my money and test the others. It sounds like the Caddy perfectly fits my pointy preference. Which again, makes sense, I love the way it handled. I was just getting curious by the rest of the line up.

    I personally feel like for the BMW (and probably the Acura once we start to have proper setups for it), you can use the brakes, especially on entry, to fight the understeer and if you can do it properly, it’s a really fun car to drive. I used the Caddy more and was a bit faster in it last season, but I definitely had the most fun in the BMW

    • @JCRacing57
      @JCRacing57  Год назад +1

      I haven’t really gotten the BMW to work with how I drive, but I can definitely believe it’s a fun car for alot of people. Still enjoyed it before we got the caddy!

  • @himeros8826

    Nice vid! Another thing I noticed about the Acura was that, with the baseline setup, it locks a bit the front tires after some laps. I dont know if this is something about tire usage or not having brake migration but I was doing it after 10-12 laps of full push. I dont know if someone also did the same! The test was in the old Zandvort, doing low 24s if it gives more info! Btw Im loving the Acura more than the Caddy and the Porsche, I dont have the BMW but I agree that this cars are different and you should pick them by your driving style, the Acura fits it perfectly for me!

    • @JCRacing57
      @JCRacing57  Год назад +1

      From what I did, it didn’t really lock up unless I pushed it too hard into a corner, but spa and especially old zandvoort are very different surfaces so I’m sure that it’s a bit more prone with all the bumps! Also like I said if your coming from another GTP, it’s braking zone is a tad longer, something to keep in mind! :D

    I've come from future, after Petit Le Mans, to say that if you want to drive the championship winning car, pick the VSeries R and use the 31 livery. Could've been the Porsche #6 but that guy in the 20 LMP2 had other ideas, not the first time that car has had a big incident this season, driver line up could use a reshuffle

    I like the Cadillac out of the four. The Porsche and BMW are similar to each other. But I couldn't get to speed in the Acura. I did my test in the evening at Daytona with the fixed Daytona setup. Except for the Acura the other three I did a 1:32.7.

    • @JCRacing57
      @JCRacing57  Год назад

      The Acura definitely is the more unique one of the bunch, I think it’s one that you kinda like or hate, i thought it was pretty easy to drive compared to say the BMW, but I will admit it was harder to shave those Tenths off when I got into the 2:02’s

  • @RasiSan1
    @RasiSan1 Год назад +3

    I drove the BMW,Caddy and Acura, couldn't get the Porsche. Acura felt really light when turning, the car just points to any direction you want, really liked the brakes in it and the feeling when trail braking but I couldn't notice differences from the Caddy, tho I noticed I couldn't brake as late. Caddy is an absolute beast, brakes really late, turn-in is good and since it doesn't have a turbo the power is pretty linear in comparison with the turbo lag Acura(when that turbo kicks in tho it hits like a train). I won't say I hate the BMW(I do), it's an ok car but doesn't fit my style, you need to brake half a car length before and almost never brake 100% when going, which is possible in the other 2 on the same condition that you were fast, it's really understeery sometimes, tho all this I'm really great for the time driving the BMW, drove it way before the Caddy was announced and really prepared me to drive these fast cars
    after all this, I'm in love with the Acura

    Have both the BMW and Caddy. LOVE LOVE LOVE the caddy. The noise, the way it drives, it just suits me very well. I can't get on terms with the BMW at all. It feels very dimwitted to me especailly in the low speed corners. I can't manipulate it to do what I want.

    ended up buying all of them over time. first was the porsche which is a good middle ground in my opinion but snaps quickly when the wrong move is made, next was the cadillac which is tons of fun to slide around is somwhat tame powerwise and fast within its limits but gets unruly when pushed too hard in the corners. next was the acura which is super darty and precise but a nice mid corner pushyness that isnt overbearing along with its v6 engine being tamer off the bottom due to turbo lag. the bmw was the last one and it rewards a lazy driving style like mine as its a somewhat lazy handling car but hangs with the rest just fine. all personal preference as far as which one works best

    How the heck do you keep from locking the brakes in these cars.? I bought the porsche based on this review and can't get into the first turn because literally as soon as I touch the brakes, the thing locks up and slides for half a freaking mile. Very frustrating

    • @JCRacing57
      @JCRacing57  Год назад +1

    • @MichaelEgan66
      @MichaelEgan66 Год назад

      @JCRacing57 Thank you for responding. I have done all of those suggestions and more. I found that the fanalab brake force setting being set to minimum was 99% of the culprit and then iracing tech support just informed me to check the braking assistance button and now all is well with the world. My weak, disabled legs can't handle a brake force setting of 80% so I'm just going to have to submit to my disability and use the braking assistance. It's made the car much easier to drive. Thank you again and I hope 2024 brings you all of the prosperity and happiness that it can. Happy New year! 🙏🖖

    The Acura feels odd to me. It doesn’t feel as attached to the road as the rest of the cars, yet rotates a lot more. Also, it’s rather strange at slow speed, really understeery mid corner, but oversteery in and out. Definitely my least favourite car to drive. My rankings for favourite to least favourite to drive:

    BMW
    Cadillac
    Acura

    @owencaryl Год назад

    Problem with the Acura, is that the tyre wear is terrible. It's very Rear Limited in the weight distribution, similar to the Caddy, however, its lighter. So it's super flary on the rear.
    Different to Porsche, which is more mid-rear weighted, so more understeer initially, but using the throttle to bring it round.
    The Caddy is more front-weighted, but is a heavier car all-round, different to the Acura, so in the slow / mid speed, it's phenomenal, but in high-speed, terrible.
    The BMW is the best of the all-rounders. Weighted pretty much centrally, it handles every corner-type with ease. The front turns in naturally, and you can bring the rear round while using the throttle.
    BMW Would be the best for a beginner to GTP, for this reason. It's also way better on tyres than the Acura, so you won't lose performance

    • @JCRacing57
      @JCRacing57  Год назад

      See for me I could never really get the BMW to rotate with the throttle, it could most explainably be the TC setting was high for this test, but even in the Daytona 24 and Sebring 12 I did have trouble with its Lazy understeer especially late into a stint. But I can definitely concur that the Caddy can be a lug through the high speed kinks on circuits
