This is the story of alot of my 40K armies. "This thing cool, me want." 6 months later: "Why do I have SO many Necrons?!?!?!??? I almost never play 40K!"
For me, i never understood the appeal of necrons. Theyre boring to paint, skeletons are always the most boring in any universe and their design just doesnt hit the mark as some other races does
My big silly idea was "Hey, I'm not a fan of space marines, but I do like orks. What if the orks were pretending to BE space marines?" And it just spiraled from there and now I'm halfway through an escalation league with pretty much every unit as a unique kitbash using bits from both Ork and Space Marine units, one unit per original legion, and Ghazkull as the freakin Emperor. It's absurd, silly, and I love it.
if you think a dreadnought being stealthy is weird just remember a normal space marine is a walking tank in party colors with a reactor on their back powerful enough to make you teeth clatter if you stand to close. and some of them are called stealth units and wear the same armor
True, true. But the raven guard upgrade their stuff spesifically for stealth. If I remember correctly, for example, their power packs don't make any noise.
Well...when everyone is occupied with the ten stories high Warlord Titan that just stomped an enemy tank flat as a pancake one tends to miss 7 feet tall walking tanks with glowing eyes as they become mere background noise.
I made a list called the "Oh No" list. It consists of five Bloodthirsters and Angron Its the new arks of Omen detachment, Skarbrand, Bloodthirster, Bloodthirster, Bloodthirster, An'ggrath the Unbound, and then secondary detachment of Angron. You do need to also run three units of some other Khorne daemon, to run it, but it comes up to 2175 without those units
Lmao im just imagining angron stuck in some tiny corridor within a space hulk and just 5 other greater deamons erupting from him, clogging the entire hallway with just mass of demon
@@Flamethrower1942 you can declare charge even without line of sight and engagement range goes 5" up so second floor isn't an issue either, and neither is that monsters can't go through walls because bloodthirsters fly and thus can just jump over them during charge. And if you just sit on third floor all game you lose on objectives. Still, a decent tournament list can just delete 90% of what is in that list in two turns of shooting, but it's not like they can't do anything in that setting if the opponent just goes up.
To be fair, I think there's lore for the Reaver squads that they have volume amplifiers built into their helmets so after they've snuck into position they can just run at the enemy screaming "OOGILY BOOGILY BOO" at even higher volumes so it's not too far fetched
A custom chapter I did a while back was "What if Imperial Fists took Dorn's whole 'fortify' thing *way* too literally" with Dreadnoughts being converted into walking keeps, every storm shield having a chunk of wall strapped to the front, etc. A really fun army to convert for, thinking of returning to it at some point now that the leviathan Dread has gone plastic😅.
Lmao this is beautiful. I had an idea for a raven guard successor chapter but I didn’t think making a chapter was very popular so I stopped. Now this got me fired up to relive my old ideas
That is an *incredible* mental image Also that Chapter Master and those Vanguard Veterans are going to look incredible… don’t you dare tempt me like this, I’ll fall down the hole too >:(
Ironically working on a chapter that is in the books but not really explained(also might have some lore ties to the emperor's children during the heresy) The Death Eagles, who I am using as the black and white version and very similar silly raven guard stuffs.
Oh yes, I have a list like this for AoS--absolutely love the theme but probably unplayable. I was incredibly inspired by Ungrol Four-Horn, a mutated ungor beastman with two heads (and of course, four horns) mentioned in the 7th edition WH Fantasy battle tome. Abused and despised by all, especially beastmen, for murdering the beastlord and the bray-shaman in their sleep and stealing their horns. A fugitive from beastman society, he now wanders the wilds while the two personalities in his separate heads vie for control, wearing the stolen horns. The story fades out with him attracting other down-trodden ungors, nightmarish creatures, and various undesirables who have suffered chaos mutations. I kit-bashed a model for Ungrol and wrote some house rules concerning what sorts of units would follow such a pariah. Essentially, it's huge blocks of ungors, mutant gors and other chaos-plagued humanoids with no command, chaos spawn, and bunch of indie minis of bizarre creatures that could reasonably use the warscrolls for things like bullgors, centaurs, and dragon ogres without actually being those things. Completely ridiculous.
I started 8th edition with a grey knights army that had a fully loaded Stormraven, dreadnought and all. There was a unit of servitors in it to cushion the impact if (when) it got shot down. It was just so funny imagining a dreadnought somersaulting on servitors in a crash landing. The rest in it was Castellan Crowe, a unit of Purifiers with incinerators and an Ancient with the banner of refining flame so it was mostly about bringing psychic fire on the enemy. For that reason I painted a flame icon on the side of the Stormraven. It was always either shot down before it could move or surrounded before being shot down, killing half my army for free.
I also started a World Eaters army as a joke when I found 30 painted berserkers for 30 euros while I was thinking about how ridiculous the Lord of Skulls is. I got the old kharn model for cheap and I prefer it to the new one as he's just angrily shaking his chainaxe in the air. I converted a large chainaxe for an exalted champion to be the Angron's old axe Gorefather, while Kharn has the other one named Gorechild. 3 rhinos, 10 terminators, 2 spawn, a corpse grinder gang from necromunda as cultists, a forgefiend (triple plasma "cerberus" looks dope) and 1,5 years later I was a happy owner of a painted 2k points World Eaters army. I called them "Angron's Axes".
Jokes and Memes aside, the idea for your Screaming Ravens actually sounds interesting! Something I've genuinely never seen before! Love to see your progress :D
I'm still masticating my ideas about how to make a Raven guard army. The moment that I saw how unpopular they are, I knew that I had to do it. Honestly, the temptation is to make a successor chapter that acts just like them, but is insanely brightly colored. Or perhaps they could be grey, but all of the recessed areas glow in blue or red. The TRON guard. Crap, now I must build them.
Lol, this reminds me of something that happened to me recently. A friend got me a box of Infiltrators/Incursors for Christmas and was like "here, now you can have some stealth guys for your army." I didn't have the heart to explain to him that my Space Marines are White Consuls, and that their color scheme is basically the exact polar opposite of the concept of stealth.
Thought about, and still thinking about a “chunky-manders” list, it’s all centurions, aggressors, dreadsnaughts, invictor suits, and the big land raider scale vehicles to transport them
I love this and feel like it has a lot of similarities with my project :) I am starting up my "Raven Guard" army right now, but really it is an Alpha Legion army being played as loyalist marines. The plan is, paint up a loyalist marine army in AL colors, apply a layer of chipping medium, then paint the RG scheme over the top, finally chipping away at the black/white/red to reveal the Alpha Legion beneath. I just loved everything about AL except for what they have in their codex hahaha. Felt like RG played more like what they *should* be.
As a person who plays a RG successor called the Genesis Vultures, I can confirm that the stratagem you mentioned combined with melee centurions is a deadly combination and win me a few games. It was the same reason I decided to buy a box of them as well.
I just watched all your video in one go. I love you video editing style. Short fun vidéo that go straight to the point. Realy fun idea for a space marine chapter .
When learning about the siege of vraks I got inspired to create an imperial cult army by converting genestealer cultists and having elites and hq filled by sisters of battle units
Shock and Awe ramped up to 11! Or thunder run, just break through with all the armor around. That brutalist way has been around for a while and makes sense. Not really sure how to include the stealth aspects, sounds more like deep strike from teleportation, drop pods or thunderhawk or whatever else you have as flyer. Fun idea for sure tho!
Thank you for reminding me why I want to play/make Raven Guard. I love their lore too. I made up a hombrew successor chapter ", Burrowing Owls" they do all the stealthy stuff by appearing from underground with desert like camo! Fun fact I think in Raven Guard and Deathwatch you can teleport a Dreadnought via a stratagem or Phobos librarian with Raven Guard spells XD
I've got a homebrew chapter who's chapter master is one of my rogue trader characters. A drug addicted catachan jungle fighter that stole a space marine's armor and encouraged his fellow jungle warriors to do the same
So I did the list on battle scribe and got 2005 points with chapter master with jump pack, 3 invictor war suits, 3 centurion assault squads, 3 centurion devastator squads, and 3 suppressor squads. And I need a new army now!!!
I used to be the proud owner of Hive Fleet Bumble 2000 points all painted in black and yellow with Wasp/Hornet type markings all over their bodies. I didn't have a single shooting weapon in the army, it was all claws, teeth and stabby things to represent the stingers 😂😅
One of my current ideas is "Bretonnic-IV" a forge world that was actually during the thrall of a feudal world back during the age of strife. They admire CQC, every Skitarii is a Serberys Raider, all painted in the scheme of the coat of cogs of the manufactorum house of their patron, checkered in white and either blue, red or yellow. The center piece of the army would be an Imperial Knight, better known as the Green Knight, and one of the warlord would actually be a kitbashed Eldar model.
I can never decide whether I like Raven Guard or Ultra Marines best, so I was thinking if I ever did a space marine army I'd do like a "blue jay" themed chapter since, you know they're corvids or whatever.
The Gravis Captain was there because I bought the model and it looked cool, but yeah I don't think it fits. Probably replace him and get more LOUD things
I have had a bunch of dumb army ideas that I never executed on, which is probably a good thing. FOR EXAMPLE!~ I had the idea to make 'Punk Rock Necrons'. Basically just an excuse to paint a bunch of necrons in cyberpunk and write a bunch of graffiti on a monolith. The story would be ages ago someone trapped a necron strike force in the Webway. Centuries later, some Drukhari Raiders found it, and being punks they tagged everything and left. Years later, after they'd grown up from being teens, they came back to that spot in the webway, and figured out how to *unleash* this army on the world. Another example that I am in the process of making happen. My ork army has been and always will be Speed Freeks, I love the vibe of a bunch of orks who are only there to drive fast vehicles at truly reckless speeds and shoot guns while they're at it. Someone at my local store told me "Hey if you paint all your orks red they'll go faster". At the time, I only had one squad of Red Boyz. Maybe they'd gotten invovled in some demon stuff noone knows but after he said that, I had to paint the whole army red. Fast Forward a few years and, I'm close to having a whole army of Red Boyz. Only I still need to get some more guys to make it truly come together. Last crazy idea, was Looted Tyranids. Ok my plan for this one was back when I had more Ork bitz. Basically, the concept started as "Termigaunts with Shootas". I really never liked the bio-weapon aspect of tyranids and then I saw a Looted Carnifex and I was thinking "That looks really cool, what if I did that, but in reverse, what if the tyranids had eaten so many orks they became more ork-like?" Apparently in cannon this is where Squigs come from. But yes, the Tyranids were all gonna be "Hive Fleet Goff" complete with checkerboard carapaces (I'm not as intimidated by checks as I probably should be though, they are very time intensive.) And yeah that's my dumb ideas. There's others like the idea to convert a Thunderbolt Fighterjet out of other kits, or the Landing Ship trukk which was fun to convert but donno if its worth doing again. And there's my "lord discordant" which I still need to paint which is just a Magma Titan Eternal Spell with a chaos lord riding him.
I run 18 Warbikers in one army. Unload everything first turn because they have amazing anti-infantry, and when that's done, charge them in with melee and spend a bunch of CP to kill whatever is left. Usually works if terrain doesn't fuck up your charges (it usually does). Then there's a battlewagon filled with burna boyz to be a center objective nuisance, and three scrapjets for good measure
I headed down the adeptus mechanicus spiral of purely collecting whatever i thought looked wicked, even going with my own customer forgeworld colour scheme of blue purple and bronze. my current list (about 1500 points of stupid) is two squads of skitarii rangers, four kastellan robots with power fists, two datasmiths, a squad of kataphron destroyers, a squad of sicarian infiltrators, an imperial knight, all lead by a skitarii marshal. a jumble of melee mixed with cqc bullshit. if that's not crazy enough I don't what is.
Did you know with the warlord trait "Master of ambush" you can pregame move a brick of aggressors 9in away, stick that on a captain in Gravis so he can deploy with them.
Two Ork ideas: 1. An Ork list of almost entirely mechanized units (Meganobz, Deff Dreads, Killa Kan, etc.) But all converted into crabby guys. 2. An Ork Speed Waaagh! but every single vehicle is based off a famous pop culture one, like Mad Max, Knight Rider, The Transformers, Ghost busters, and so on and so forth.
Being attracted to Eldar and the mechanicus, the only space marines I'd like are the Raven Guard. I'm very tempted to scratch build a Corvus returning from the Warp after locating lorgar.
I based my custom chapter on my parrots....blue and yellow first born to represent my parakeets, grey and white, with yellow helmets and orange cheek bits on the primaris to represent my cockatiel, all of them covered in feather decorations! specialize in fast attack/assault....made sense to me to make them White Scar successors. Terror Birds!
Thing is, I’ve made meme lists that I like vs a competitive player’s thought out Army and half the time they’re not expecting 5 tanks with 2+ Save and T7/T8 with 14 movement and decent weapons. Yes, I’m a fool that plays the Sicarans and Kratos spam. Having 17 Heavy Bolters shooting in Devastator doctrine and whatever heavy guns on the turrets at Guard players and Votann or Space Marines really just how much they relied on AoC to mitigate AP. I know the Votann still have it, but the extra AP in Devastator doctrine does really help chew through their squads and the turrets are left to deal with vehicles and such.
At least you have a clear vision, even if unusual. For years I wanted an Imperial Guard army and so I got one about 3 years ago. Got a bunch of tanks which I painted first. Standard green cadian colours. But then I wanted to go for martian red style planet bases and green camo looked a bit too weird against a martian planet. I looked at changing my colour scheme several times but couldn't bring myself to repaint the tanks. I never did settle on a colour scheme, because I then wanted to make a penal colony army. Started a bunch of conversions using cadian, catachan, necromunda and third party kits to make a rag tag bunch of sparsely equipped bad boys. Then I thought what if my penal legion included POWs forced to die or join the penal legions. Lore accurate? I dunno. But I wanted to try it anyway. So I bought some Tau and Eldar bits to try and make conversions for what I guess you'd call traitor Eldar and Tau. But before I finished that army (which my plan was to add to my existing cadians with a 2 tire class system of loyal guardsmen and a suicide squad of criminals) I then changed my mind again. I saw 2 things. Some rules for Rough Riders which were taken out of the codex but we're still payable. And some videos of a mix Vostroyan and Ventrilian Nobel conversions with 3rd party pieces. So I start making some Prussian themed Storm Troopers and some Hussar Style Rough Riders. But ultimately in the confusion of having an army that's part standard Cadian, part Prussian themed elite units, part Suicide Squad style POW penal legion army, I got burnt out on my army and moved on to do Eldar instead lol. I will go back to my mess of a Guard army, but I need to get some sort of structure to it because if you thought your Screaming Ravens army was lore breaking and confusingly odd, my guard army is literally a pile of shit ideas 😂
You should play it. Deep striking with the dreads and centurions while laying down covering fire from intercessors should work. Melee being what it is for space marines in 9th.
Back in 8th, I noticed that the way the rules were worded, the best Biker Marines were Ultramarines, not White Scars....but I loved me some White Scars. So I investigated some more, and noticed that Jump Pack White Scars were *really really* good. So I made a list of nothing but jump pack White Scars and some Tacticals in Metal Bawks. I was once again SPEED, but now with flight!
I had an idea for a space marine army the other day, where it’s essentially just dreadnaughts, centurions, just like the very big and chonky bipedal models. Or, having a Grey Knights army that’s just entirely Nemesis Dreadknights. Just because.
I'm trying to create a massive poxwalker zombie horde but I gotta follow the rule of the limit that's on them. Where I can have a certain amount of poxwalkers per astartes unit
Since I've just gotten into the hobby, going to say my 1997 point army of ravenwing dark angels by individual models. Captain on a bike, Interigator chaplain on a bike, ravenwing ancient on a bike, ravenwing darkshroud, 2 ravenwing landspeeders of vengeance, and 36 ravenwing black knights. Almost everyone on bikes have hammers. Don't know if it's effective but bunch of dudes on motorcycles firing grenades and bonking people with hammers seems funny.
Terrified Guard, "Those Noise Marines are soooo loud! They hurt my brain!" Brian the Blessed, Captain of the Screaming Ravens, " *LOUD!? YOU THINK THAT IS LOOOOOOUD!!!!!* " Terrified Guard, "Where the heck did you spring from!?"
I'm thinking of the same thing for Admech Cartogrammatist WT lets you deepstrike any infantry unit Solar Flare relic lets you teleport a character and any infantry unit across the board Legio Teleportarium lets you deepstrike 2 infantry units Sicarian Inflitrators have forward deploy Pteraxii have in-built deepstrike Chickens can have a 16" move
Someday I want an army of all Grots. If there aren't enough Grot-centric units, I can glue a bunch of the little creeps onto buggies, trukks, wagons, and even style a Warboss in Power Armor to look like the gretchin on top is the boss. Actually, I want to do that last bit with the boss in my Combat Patrol, but I can't find any parts to make them look more like Master Blaster...
This is silly in the best way. My Iron Hands (successors usually but I have Feirros now so who knows) are kind of silly because Suppressors are inherently silly.. but when I get my full complement of 6 dreads, they won't be so silly anymore.
Your list is pretty close to the most common 8e/early 9e Raven Guard tournament lists. They ran like 2 6-bricks of Centurions, a few 6-bricks of flamer Aggressors (back when they could double-shoot) and 30 Vanguard Veterans (Claw+Shield or Claw/Chainsword, because paying the equivalent of more than half a plasma pistol for +1AP and reroll wounds on a *single attack* is not great, despite how cool double claw looks) and a bunch of Aggressors in Born Heroes + Whirlwind of Rage successors to just alpha-strike at the enemy as hard as possible. Deep strike one of the Centurion squads, redeploy the other with a Smash captain (Thunder hammer + Stormshield), run straight at your opponent's face on turn 1 and turn 2 while servitors or scouts meander up for objectives and screening your opponent's deep strikes. Centurions have since taken a few really bad nerfs since then (CORE exists now and Centurions didn't get them, meaning they can't use a Chaplain's +2 to charge buff or a captain's rerolls, and Master of Ambush doesn't let you redeploy Centurions anymore), but they still hit decently hard if you can get them in.
Let's see some conversations or kit bashes making these centurions into Primaris Terminators. I'm subbing solely because you did a video on Centurions 🤣 love those fvckers. How much more 40k can you get than them. A super soldier inside of power armor inside a suit of even bigger power armor.
i did also once tried to dive more into SM and ravenguard seemed untapped potential , my idea was to make a chapter that supposedly followed Corvax wherever the fuck he went and at some point they split off in the warp, i named them Midnight Talons and they were gonna have black shiny armor with grey and purple details and i thouhg id try and do the starry night effect where you stroke the brush to make little white drops that look like stars , and i was thinking of making them look abit demonic but more so how corvax was using bits from the corvax cabal warband and have them be focused heavily on jet packs and lightning claws , neat idea but doubt it will ever be materialized :p
Same spirit as your army, my take on the sneaky Ork Bloodaxes. First of: Goff Klan Kulture, cause they won't see it coming. Second: 2-3 Kommandos, bread and butter of an sneaky Ork list. Third: A Trukk, 6 Meganobs with Trukkboys upgrade. Here is how it goes: Set up Kommandos first during deployment with their special rule 9" away from the nearest enemy (that prevents any units from the enemy to set up too close). Teliport with the Command the Trukk filled with 6 Meganobs 9" towards the enemy, let the Trukk eat the concentrated fire if you go second. If you fo first, let your Meganobs out and rampage in a sneaky way.
Soft Plug from Tactical Tortoise for mentioning what started my current list. I run a mastodon with 20 wulfen inside with thunder hammers. Add a techmarine following it and my chapter master with a jump pack wearing the armor of russ and you have a hilarious space wolf successor. Giant tank is not what you think with Space Wolves but as I run it up the board I'm dropping off wulfen each turn. They charge in while the chapter master stays close by, if anything charges the fleabags he HI's pops Armor or Russ to force fight last on them and they reintroduce targets to their thunder hammers. The best part is all my melee units save the chapter master are considered in Assault doctrine making Alpha and Beta strikes nasty. And if it gets blown up either way it's hilarious especially the one time it exploded and killed over 1k points via explosion.
2000pts of Nurgle daemons: 2 (Exalted) Great Unclean Ones, Rotigus, Scabeiathrax, Mamon Transfigured, and 3 Soul Grinders. It all fits in an Arks of Omen detachment. You're basically playing knights at this point, except all your knights are T9 with a 4+ daemon save and WS2+.
I.....might abduct this into the head-canon of the rogue trader game i've been running for a bit, thanks for adding to the ever growing insanity of that head-canon!
Sounds less like the Raven Guard and more like the Night Lords. They’ve specifically used a kind of EMP scream that disorientates their enemies and mess with machinery to compliment their stealth terror tactics.
Centurions are the coolest of ridiculous models! Too bad noise marines are chaos. Their whole sound so loud it hurts vibe would fit into the Screaming Ravens’ cacophony as they flash bang their way to victory! A definite quack-bang vs ooda-loop moment (search yt for quackbang you won’t be disappointed)
I do like the idea of Noise Marines, but I don't need yet another army. To be fair I like all 4 of the Chaos God specific factions (TSons, Death Guard, new World Eaters look fun).
The funny thing is Raven Guard Centurions used to be pretty broken in competitive play when the Raven Guard supplement first came out in 8th edition (i don't remember how they nerfed them tho), so your idea actually makes a lot of sense lol
I mean I've given a similar thing with charadons a go and it was fun to drop big things outta deepstrike. Woth +1 to charge and the strat that gives rerolls when charging a selected unit you get into combat fairly consistently. Top that up with exploding 6's and the 1 to hit and wound characters and you get some scary deepstrike turn 2
my goofy list is all dreadnoughts SW, right now I run bjorn, ven dread with axe, wulfen dread with claws, contemptor, redemptor, leviathan, and soon to be the brutatlis dreadnought with murderfang.
My favorite list I've written up was Ultramarines Vanguard detachment filled only with Sergeant Telion, 10 man scout units, scout bikers, and land speeder storms. Would it be competitive? Almost certainly not but it's amusing to imagine how it would play out on the tabletop
Yeah, I remember being 12 , too. Unfortunately, calling yourselves the Screaming Ravens doesn't inspire fear so much as hilarity, especially if you're losing. One of the most important factors in coming up with cool names is considering the degree to which they could be reasonable lambasted by trash talk, and an emo army called the Screaming Ravens already sounds like an angsty tween garage band. This is a serious problem, because even if you're winning, the only reasonable insult would be that your opponent was defeated by whatever ridiculous entity seriously decided to name itself "The Screaming Ravens." Oh, jebus help us, what's their battle cry? Caw-CAW?
*Needs just a little bit of heresy.* Hear me out. Get yourself all chaosy and grab some noise marines for them sweet Doom sirens, sonic blasters and blastmasters. _Nobody who matters needs to know._
Ya gotta love the meme builds! Kinda reminds me why I hate the Arbites kill team, so serious, so built-to-win, nah gimme something gimmicky that will probably make me lose but I don't care cause it's so cool B)
I Just imagine the Brutalis wearing a big trench coat and hat as a disguise
Now to learn how to make small hats and coats for my Invictors!
@@PaulIsBadAtStuff 3d printer can make that happen.
Don't forget the sunglasses!
Oh God-Emperor, I can't un-see that mental image! 🤣
A brutalis on top of a brutalis
This is the story of alot of my 40K armies.
"This thing cool, me want."
6 months later: "Why do I have SO many Necrons?!?!?!??? I almost never play 40K!"
The Imperium Magazine was really bad for me because I also now have so many necrons!
Holy shit i didn't even realize it until now, WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY NECRONS AND LIKE 5 SPACE MARINES????
You are waking up the tomb world... The Necrons are simply appearing within your collection
I need to see this
That's some peak Heresy right there. An inquisitor is going to drop over from a stroke just imagining it.
Orcarines, WAAGH! for the EMPRA' !!!
Peak Ork player energy right there!
Ah okay, you're playing as "Da Emprah's Boiz", I get ya
If Kannonwagons were still around you could run them with Leman Russes as proxies
if you think a dreadnought being stealthy is weird just remember a normal space marine is a walking tank in party colors with a reactor on their back powerful enough to make you teeth clatter if you stand to close. and some of them are called stealth units and wear the same armor
The trick to stealthing as an invictor suit is walking in the shadows of the warlord titan. Anyone looking closely enough is already dead
Everyone in the 40k universe is really hard of hearing from all the bolter shots and explosions and stuff.
I made a list called the "Oh No" list. It consists of five Bloodthirsters and Angron
Its the new arks of Omen detachment, Skarbrand, Bloodthirster, Bloodthirster, Bloodthirster, An'ggrath the Unbound, and then secondary detachment of Angron. You do need to also run three units of some other Khorne daemon, to run it, but it comes up to 2175 without those units
If I saw that from the other side of the table I would just go "I'm in danger"
Dude is playing adeptus titanicus with demons💀
Lmao im just imagining angron stuck in some tiny corridor within a space hulk and just 5 other greater deamons erupting from him, clogging the entire hallway with just mass of demon
Cool list but if your opponent hides units in buildings in tournament setting, your big monsters can't assault them.
@@Flamethrower1942 you can declare charge even without line of sight and engagement range goes 5" up so second floor isn't an issue either, and neither is that monsters can't go through walls because bloodthirsters fly and thus can just jump over them during charge.
See, 40k should lean MORE into things like this
40k is just very silly overall, which is why it's fun!
Would you like to be introduced to our bosses and saviors: Gork and Mork, the silliest gods in 40k?
@@Sir_Bucket there are 2 types of people in this world! Gork Enthusiasts and Mork Enthusiasts!
So you made a Raven Guard posing as Night Lords posing as Raven Guard list... I love it
You better bring this list to Tabletop Tactics when it's done! I wanna see it get played lol
One day, if I get invited on, I'd love to give this list a whirl, maybe make it even sillier for the fun factor!
Can't wait to see the army fully painted. Should do some kind of challenge or something
Lmao this is beautiful. I had an idea for a raven guard successor chapter but I didn’t think making a chapter was very popular so I stopped. Now this got me fired up to relive my old ideas
Mate, homebrew is the heart and soul of the hobby! Go for it, making your guys™ is what was always intended.
That is an *incredible* mental image
Also that Chapter Master and those Vanguard Veterans are going to look incredible… don’t you dare tempt me like this, I’ll fall down the hole too >:(
Ironically working on a chapter that is in the books but not really explained(also might have some lore ties to the emperor's children during the heresy) The Death Eagles, who I am using as the black and white version and very similar silly raven guard stuffs.
Love it. I own a small force (~1200 points) of Dark Angels, simply because I wanted one of their airplanes.
Best part about the lore is that if it doesn’t fit you can just say that they’re a successor chapter
That's awesome! I really like seeing the thoughts that went into your idea, even if it might not be playable it still sounds cool
Found your channel yesterday and have since watched everything man. Top quality stuff look forward to seeing more of your DE painted!
Slay them grey! Can't wait to see what this army is gonna look like
I started 8th edition with a grey knights army that had a fully loaded Stormraven, dreadnought and all.
After 84 years. He has achieved the impossible.
Thought about, and still thinking about a “chunky-manders” list, it’s all centurions, aggressors, dreadsnaughts, invictor suits, and the big land raider scale vehicles to transport them
OMG I NEED IT
ive been sitting here going "dark angels... mechanicus... they are cool, but i want something out there" and this fits perfectly
I love this and feel like it has a lot of similarities with my project :)
I am starting up my "Raven Guard" army right now, but really it is an Alpha Legion army being played as loyalist marines.
I approve of these tactics, its still stealth if no one lives to talk about it.
If a tree falls in the woods, and no-one is left alive to see it, does it even matter if it makes a sound? Same logic!
"Was your stealth mission a success?"
"The exterminatus was a success, yes."
"Excellent, mission accomplished!"
Your comment has made me realise "Shock and CAWWW" is a good alternative name for this list
I mean, you could paint your chonky bois purple. That way, orkz would never find them
Thank you for reminding me why I want to play/make Raven Guard.
You know...i just get this idea of modelling a tiptoeing sneaking dreadnought...
The desolation marines definitely fit the theme. Death raining from above from anywhere. Probably add some whirlwinds....
Gravis captain seems a bit odd choice. Full phobos army with deep striking centurions however, now that sounds hilarious - go for it!
But yes, the Tyranids were all gonna be "Hive Fleet Goff" complete with checkerboard carapaces (I'm not as intimidated by checks as I probably should be though, they are very time intensive.)
And yeah that's my dumb ideas.
Two Ork ideas:
This has to be the biggest selling point I've seen for desolators. They look ridiculous - ah a perfect fit!
Ah yes, the ork aproach to stealth.
Love it! Sounds really cool
“I didn’t want to collect ultramarines”
Me *cries Macragg Blue Tears*
You made loyalist noise marines.
That is amazing.
Melee being what it is for space marines in 9th.
can't wait for their rival chapter the SCREAMING EAGLES who are red white and blue
I for one greatly love this concept
The Centurions desperately need more attention
They’re so cute
I had an idea for a space marine army the other day, where it’s essentially just dreadnaughts, centurions, just like the very big and chonky bipedal models. Or, having a Grey Knights army that’s just entirely Nemesis Dreadknights. Just because.
Technically if you run Space Wolves you can HQ Bjorn the fell handed, Murderfang, and 6 Wulfen dreadnaughts you'll have a solid 1015 pt list.
This, this I like. I am also painting a camouflage Necron army (at this point just to paint it, really), so I heartily approve of this no matter what.
Man this makes me want to write a story about these guys’ origins and a battle they participated in.
I'm trying to create a massive poxwalker zombie horde but I gotta follow the rule of the limit that's on them. Where I can have a certain amount of poxwalkers per astartes unit
You could also go black templar. Black armour, they have beakies, they have gorgeous HQ's, they can take flyers and theyre silly
They hurt my brain!"
Brian the Blessed, Captain of the Screaming Ravens, " *LOUD!? YOU THINK THAT IS LOOOOOOUD!!!!!* "
Terrified Guard, "Where the heck did you spring from!?"
I think i saw this on the grimdank subreddit, its an entire army made exclusively of gretchen, 3000 gretchen... Just flood the table
Congrats on this video blowing up so much!
"Is this a competitive list?"
No, it's a Raven Guard successor.
Depends on the competition?
Warhammer 40k? No
Being cool dudes? Yes
Centurions are the only reason I've chosen to play space marines. I love my little chunky boyz so much, but they're such a pain to paint 😅
I'm thinking of the same thing for Admech
Cartogrammatist WT lets you deepstrike any infantry unit
Solar Flare relic lets you teleport a character and any infantry unit across the board
Legio Teleportarium lets you deepstrike 2 infantry units
Sicarian Inflitrators have forward deploy
Pteraxii have in-built deepstrike
Chickens can have a 16" move
You build your crazy, everyone else will build their version of crazy too.
Me, I'm building Blood Pact with the Astra Militarum book.
As many Dreadnoughts as possible for my Space Wolfs. Before Arks of Omen, 13 dreads. After Arks, only 8 of them. :(
Let's see some conversations or kit bashes making these centurions into Primaris Terminators.
I'm subbing solely because you did a video on Centurions 🤣 love those fvckers. How much more 40k can you get than them. A super soldier inside of power armor inside a suit of even bigger power armor.
RUclips recommends me this now...
after Paul has already won games with his Screaming Ravens.
Also do love the Nightlords captain. He'll make a fine trophy
i did also once tried to dive more into SM and ravenguard seemed untapped potential , my idea was to make a chapter that supposedly followed Corvax wherever the fuck he went and at some point they split off in the warp, i named them Midnight Talons and they were gonna have black shiny armor with grey and purple details and i thouhg id try and do the starry night effect where you stroke the brush to make little white drops that look like stars , and i was thinking of making them look abit demonic but more so how corvax was using bits from the corvax cabal warband and have them be focused heavily on jet packs and lightning claws , neat idea but doubt it will ever be materialized :p
Here is how it goes:
Set up Kommandos first during deployment with their special rule 9" away from the nearest enemy (that prevents any units from the enemy to set up too close).
This has similar vibes to me making a world eaters list all there will be is screaming and chainsaw noises
Arks of omen detachment- 6 slots
Fill all 6 slots with 3packs of Chaos knight Wardogs
2000pts of Nurgle daemons: 2 (Exalted) Great Unclean Ones, Rotigus, Scabeiathrax, Mamon Transfigured, and 3 Soul Grinders. It all fits in an Arks of Omen detachment. You're basically playing knights at this point, except all your knights are T9 with a 4+ daemon save and WS2+.
It's the ecm rush kind of stealth from payday, you aren't actually stealthy, they just can't do anything about you barging in and taking what you want
I.....might abduct this into the head-canon of the rogue trader game i've been running for a bit, thanks for adding to the ever growing insanity of that head-canon!
Look up the boots of questionable stealth, that is the main footwear of this army
Loyalist noise marine? Loyalist noise marines! Sounds like a great project
Screaming raven sounds awesome.
Caw-CAW?
Caw-CAW!! ruclips.net/video/RnZ1MN16Yvw/видео.html
*Needs just a little bit of heresy.*
Hear me out.
This man just invented loyalist noisemarines
I almost bought the cusodes christmas box just to put them on table and say custodees nuts. Im so glad i have self-control.
Raven Guard successor player approves.
Speed, Violence, Surprise.
