I could see some of the crew of the Norway singing this in a bar while on shore leave, and as they finish, the shot pans back to a darker corner of the bar where Capt. Mallory is standing. She gives a very faint smile, before turning and leaving without her crew noticing she was there.
I know Im asking randomly but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Ishaan Curtis i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
“Out of Print - Company defunct” - that’s so sad ☹ I hope that I someday manage to get a hold of a Firestorm tape. Our history is dying a bit with every song which can’t be shared anymore.
@Leslie Fish That is awesome to hear! I found your music a few years back, and discovered the Filk genre. Now I have two genres I love, Metal, and Filk.

Reminds me of the episode where the doctor was in a museum and the crew of Voyager was remembered wrongly. Much like signy Mallory, the story's are blown out of proportion by the enemy.
We need a version of this for Captain Kathryn Janeway (put a little half-syllable in the middle to keep the meter). It would really fit, particularly with stills from the episode "Night".
Me too. I saw a bunch of comments talking about the original version of the song, so I came looking for it. I do like this version, but yeah, I like Heather Alexander's better.
If people are right then nowhere, these are fan uploads from old cassettes. On the other hand knowing the politics of the artist they wouldn't mind if you made a copy or even better performed yourself if you have the skill.
I wish copyright laws had a provision so that, if something is completely out of official reproduction and distribution, and thus there is no more revenue from it for the artist, it should be fully legal to copy and distribute. At that point, it isn't piracy anymore, it's salvage.

Likely be a bit of a bar fight there too lol.

I was even worse, it is almost imposible to get a hand on legal copy, even used one, here in Bohemia.
finding lost songs/movies is a specialty of mine, whats the name?
Holy shit! Another Czech listening to this music!
@Leslie Fish That is awesome to hear! I found your music a few years back, and discovered the Filk genre. Now I have two genres I love, Metal, and Filk.
@@RagarUlfson same here! Quite underrated music if I do say so myself
From the first time to the most recent time of me listening to this song, I still would fight demons out of hell for Captain Mallory!!
Just found sci fi folk songs and I am so sad I haven't sooner
There really needs to be a movement to bring them into the light, being a nerd is cool these days, a cover band could do so much
Welcome to filk boiii ^w^
You found "pushing the speed of light" by Julia Ecklar and Anna Prather yet?
@@theirishviking9278 oh big time, really remarkable, love all of Julia Ecklars work
This song made me read down below station so many years ago. Wonderful to find it again.
It is. I found a hardback copy for a couple of dollars at used book store.
who was this by?
CJ Cherryh wrote it back in the '80s, I think
@@paxnerdvana8287 whats the book about?
It's difficult to give a short summary, but the wikipedia article is pretty good.

And Stationer or Merchanter,

Know from Mallory or Norway
Would fight demons out of hell.
"Know from Mallory or Norway" should be "Know... for Mallory ole' Norway"
Thank you for the lyrics ^^
@@Sixfools Stationer or Merchanter... know: For Mallory (all hands on deck of the spaceship, i.e.) all Norway Would fight demons out of hell.
Yeah but the internet gives a refuge for books and songs like this
I rather imagine the Norway like the Defiant, or the Rocinante. Mallory herself kind of reminds me of Janeway from her description
I imagine malory in a more 40K way, with a literal iron hand and a terrifying red lazor eye
Reminds me of the episode where the doctor was in a museum and the crew of Voyager was remembered wrongly. Much like signy Mallory, the story's are blown out of proportion by the enemy.
I also thought of "evil" Janeway
Having now watched the expanse, signy Mallory is literally captain Drummer
We need a version of this for Captain Kathryn Janeway (put a little half-syllable in the middle to keep the meter). It would really fit, particularly with stills from the episode "Night".
I want to serve on Captain Mallory's ship too!
Thanks for publishing this. I love this song.
Read the book, everyone! It's great!
Whats the title of the book?
@@Jo-ys3qx Downbelow Station i think

Same, except for me liking this song better. Guess I'll have a new addiction after Valdemar :P
This really reminds me of renegade female Shepherd in the Mass Effect games
Same with me, except I heard the Heather Alexander version originally. I prefer that one.

Easiest way would be to download the audio from the video to your PC, and burn it onto a CD.
any advice a good program to do that with?

Cap'n Mallory to you, you dock rats . Raise 'em, Cap'n MALLORY!
Is there some story behind the song? :)
