This band is one of the more underrated bands to come out of the 80's. Their first album, Faster Pussycat, is every bit as raw and gritty is Gn'R's Appetite for Destruction. This is a great cover by a great band.
Haha! Their first album is great an still my favourite Faster Pussycat album but trying desperately to put it along side Appetite for Destruction and suggest they are equal is just way too funny.
So true, growing up in Southern California it was awesome have Hollywood Blvd & the Sunset Strip less then an hour away. Having great shows like Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, and so many other bands under other names playing the weekends. Those were the days!
deadringer22000, gives Carly Simon's signature song a rock and roll feel 2 it! I dedicate it 2 the Pussycat Dolls, Sunni Gummi from Gummi Bears, and a girl named Lisett Romero that works in Montclair, Calif.
Yes the 80's were great fun,we didn't need mobile phone's or computers. Most of the best music,in my opinion, comes from the 70's though not all. These guys and Mötley Crüe are the best examples 😊
Man, we were cool in the 80s! This brings back so many memories. Sweet painful nostalgia. Best cover ever of this song...... Just saw em live Friday June 28th 2019 at the Whisky A Go Go. They rocked balls.
Negative Comments on this version?? The Greatest Revenge Song of ALL-TIME !! By one of the greatest, sleaZy bands . What is negative!!! Thank's Taime & Co!
I had the HONOR of shooting these guys 3 yrs back at a small bar they played at near my hometown. It was a GREAT show! Taime is hilarious, he had a lit cigarette in his hand during the whole performance (in every photo I took of him!) If you ever get the chance to see them live, especially in a small venue, GO! They are all also a great bunch of guys to talk to, real down to earth! Ace the guitar player is awesome!
Kristine, I did see them here in London UK, in a small venue called The Underworld at Camden Town, Taime Downe is amazing, took some photos with him and I will keep them until the end of my life. Amazing band and singer.
Kisstine 16 which version of Faster Pussycat was it? Taime’s or Brent’s their music kinda veered different directions when they split about 10 years ago or so, but both good.
The Rubáiyát compilation was never intended to be commercial - each of the artists had to record another artists song in their own style. Most of the tracks became mere curios, something for fans only to appreciate. But this version was one of those times when things just clicked. FP produced a terrific reworking of this song, probably because going in there was no pressure to produce a winner. Ironically, for what was probably intended as a throwaway song, this became one of my fave FP songs.
Taime is one of those dudes ... that just never got the full credit he deserves. He's a friggin brilliant lyricist, and SUCH a unique, cool voice for not being a "true" singer.
+John Stots Yep, the first album(vinyl) of hers I bought. I saw it in a store and think I fell in love with the body and hair, plus I'd heard a couple of her songs on the radio.
Back in the day I never missed a faster pussycat show in San Antonio and even got to know the guys personally..great times partying on the bus after the show...they once did a cover of Hot legs by Rod Stewart and they fuckin killed it!...I still hope they record it someday....
I was all over this back end of the 80's, Cinderella, Poison, Tigertailz, GnR's etc etc. Good nights in Nottinham on JD and Thunderbird at Rock City well as much as I can remember anyway. Oh crimped and back combed hair with a smattering of bad dress sense of course when I look back. Man alive those were the days!
wow to be back in the 80's when music was music , not like all this crap that they try to pass off as music now a days. Please bring us back to the 80's when music had meaning and soul !!!
Peter Gallant You clearly just haven’t listened to music since the 80’s if you think bands like Heatmiser, Dinosaur Jr., Elliot Smith solo, Pavement, etc didn’t all have soul and meaning. You’re really missing out.
Best cover of this song done so far. When it first came out I thought it was about me. Me singing this about co workers at work, "You're so lame, I bet you think this job is about you"!
I absolutely love that they did this cover! Granted Carly Simon has the better vocal, however the rock up instrumentation is purely badass! I love it!🤘🏻🤟🏻
+Katie M Really? Forget about the video (which, OK, is a bit of fun), but what you're left with, musically...I don't see a whole lot of creativity going on that adds to the original. All I can say is, if this is the 'best cover ever of this song', it doesn't say much for the other covers - if there are any.
just before this came out, there was a band called VAIN that covered this song...it was a really good cover, better than this, but as far as i know it was their only hit...unfortunately this cover by a more popular band came out right after it & overshadowed them...kind of like when quiet riot covered mama we're all crazy right after the new band the mamas boys released their cover...i can't even find vains version of this on youtube...
"Matt's so Vain" (sung to the tune of "Your so Vain") Well I walked right into the Cathouse, As Ricky opened the door. He said would you like a beer, I said where's Taime. He said he's passed out on the floor. I said can I get a T shirt, Ricky said sorry I sold out in 94'. So I sat on the couches looked at all the pictures, did my rendition of Tattoo on tour, Ricky sang along till we couldn't sing no more..and that be my and that be my story , of my day at the Cathouse with Ricky Rockman and not a soul more. Circa 01' The Lord
I saw some live footage of Faster Pussycat from last year and Taime is almost unrecognizable. Surprisingly though they still sounded pretty good. But Taime, wow is all I can say. Still smoking and drinking after all of these years and unfortunately it shows. Still one of the more underrated bands from that era. Good stuff here.
He sits during "House of Pain", has always done that, even 20+ yrs. ago. His way of slowing things down and giving the audience a more intimate feel during that song, I guess.
Sad... I'm am so totally a child of the '80's (well, born in the early '70's, grew up on this type of music) and I NEVER heard of these guys until about a week ago.
Love this song and VIDEO by Faster Pussycat re Carly Simon's rendition of "You're So Vain" 🔥 🔥 🔥 --- this band was great 🤩 --- and should have been hugely successful in their heyday! P.S. And a BIG thank you to the *guitarist 🎸 / musician 🎶 / rocker who sent this to me before I even had my morning coffee ☕ *You know who you are Little Wing 🦋 ...😻
2024 and still singing this. I’m 55 now and love this still

excellent call!

Sleeziest band ever
Dave Sumner I 100% agree with you they are one of the most underrated bands of the 80s and still underrated to date
Whos listening and enjoying this while stuck at home during covid in 2020?!
and getting PO that the they had to cancel the tour!!
I love this shit
Me.
Right here chief. 6 months later.
I was and still am lol and will be until I'm gone from this world
File this under the correct way to cover a song. Maybe the most under-rated bands ever and one of their best songs.
So true, growing up in Southern California it was awesome have Hollywood Blvd & the Sunset Strip less then an hour away. Having great shows like Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, and so many other bands under other names playing the weekends. Those were the days!
agreed!
you lucky barstard

Man, we were cool in the 80s! This
brings back so many memories. Sweet painful nostalgia.
Best cover ever of this song......
Just saw em live Friday June 28th 2019 at the Whisky A Go Go. They rocked balls.
Stay out of my yard though!!!
One of my favorite songs.. did such an amazing job with this cover ..
For some of us, it hardly got better than growing up in SoCal during the 80's and loving the L.A./Hollywood metal scene!
And listening to Faster Pussycat on 105.5 KNAC!!!!!!
@@rokbrigade That was my channel too. I miss it
Being a Los Angeles native growing up in the 80s was the shit
Negative Comments on this version?? The Greatest Revenge Song of ALL-TIME !! By one of the greatest, sleaZy bands . What is negative!!! Thank's Taime & Co!
After all these years....this songs STILL ROCKS🤘
Amazing cover..listen to this all the time
Thanks for the thumb 👍 .

You shot Taime and his band of hired hands. This lineup has not existed for ages.
Saw them at the Lone Star in KC Mizzou back in 1993.
Blackboard Jungle was the opener. Small venue, intimate show.
Great show!
Kisstine 16 which version of Faster Pussycat was it? Taime’s or Brent’s their music kinda veered different directions when they split about 10 years ago or so, but both good.
I have no idea why, but seems they like Texas. Especially SA.
They come here @ least once a year. Sometimes more!
🐈❤️❤️❤️❤️🤟🤟🔮🔮

Dont think anybody else could have pulled of remaking this song. Yall are very underrated
Neither could they!!
Just saw em live Friday June 28th 2019 at the Whisky A Go Go. They rocked balls.
I envy you, in the verb of the word tense.
I saw them somewhere in the 90's L.A. area. I just don't remember where.
The cover is perfect! The video is so avant-garde! still makes me quiver!
Oh Tina you make me quiver...😍

Great!!!. Amazing albums. Nothing compares to the 80's bands!!!
I absolutely love that they did this cover! Granted Carly Simon has the better vocal, however the rock up instrumentation is purely badass! I love it!🤘🏻🤟🏻
THIS is how you cover a great song from the 70s and update it 80s style.
All these years later and Brent Muscat's smile still makes me weak. :)
amen..
Love this. Nothing like the 80's & 90's. God those were good times.
Damn that guitar player has some beautiful hair! I miss the days when guys had long hair!!
There’s still some guys out there rockin the look😎🤘🏼
I wish I had my long black hair but my body said your bald
Disregarding my first name, I'm a long haired rocker guy
Still rocking mine!!

Such a great cover of this song... one of my favorite songs..,
there is nothing like a good cover of a song...and this is nothing like a good cover of a song.
This was such the perfect song for Faster to cover. Lyrics fit the band's style, and to think Carly Simon wrote the original hit. So awesome. lol

He does look like shit now. The video I saw has him sitting while he sings. I guess his fatass can't stand and sing at the same time.
He sits during "House of Pain", has always done that, even 20+ yrs. ago. His way of slowing things down and giving the audience a more intimate feel during that song, I guess.
Cannabis would be a healthier choice for him.

Try hopping your ass up there at over 50 and playing nightly in these shitty clubs.
The friggin guy cant stay as thin as he was in his 20s.
Girth Brooks explain to me how Mick Jagger can do it at 80 and looks damn good?
Hah, never realized Judd Nelson sang for Faster Pussycat. :-)
i think you and I are the only ones that see that lol
First thing I noticed :)
That cracked me up
Dammit, I can't unsee it!!
