She’s the only person who got me through high school when my ex was beating me up everyday and my family fell apart and me and my brother were split up and put in foster care with strangers. One of things that makes this video so enjoyable is that Carly is clearly having fun performing in it .... Everybody involved in making this recording in '72 did a great job: the session musicians, the backup singers (including Mick), the audio people who mixed the song, and Carly's lyrics. One of things that makes this video so enjoyable is that Carly is clearly having fun performing in it .... Everybody involved in making this recording in '72 did a great job: the session musicians, the backup singers (including Mick), the audio people who mixed the song, and Carly's lyrics. I still like listening to it 40 years later, because of the craftsmanship involved in making something of this quality. And analog sounds better, for some reason ....
I was 11 yrs old when this song came out. I’m sure I have it on my old cassette tapes.. those I’d spend hours putting together from songs on my little black transistor radio. It definitely reminds me of my middle school days.. and I think I love it more today than back then..
