- The 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars every produced and Porsche brings more performance with the GTS. On the outside you will find many black accents, 20/21in Turbo S wheels, massive 911 Turbo brakes and glass sunroof. On the inside you will be greeted by an optional red interior, GT3 steering wheel & 10in infotainment system. The 911 GTS has a 3.0L twin-turbo flat-6 that produces 473HP. Yeah, they are absolute marvels of driving' I have not driven the C8, but a Camaro ZL1 is absolutely planted on the road, if the C8 has that magic, it really comes down to one's preference. Chevrolet has a great racing pedigree, and over the last 20 years Corvette has dominance in GT endurance racing.
The prices are off the charts though for both Porsche and Corvette.

Where's this "dominance"? Certainly not here in Europe or Germany! The last big winners in 24 hours races at Spa or on the Nürburgring were BMW and Ferrari for example.... Love the GTS 992's. I did a 3 day Porsche Driving Track event this past December in Birmingham at Barber Motorsports Complex. 3 days filled with high speed track driving of 992 Turbo S 911's, and 992 GTS 911's. By far the GTS was the most fun. Turbo S was a sweetheart as well, but you could really feel that extra weight out back, and push.

What is the difference between the GTS and a Carerra S?
@@PimpSolja49Mainly a bunch of options that you could get on an S, and a slight bump in power over the S. If you option an S out to a GTS, the S will cost you more, and you won't get the power bump.
@@truthserum5310 it definitely NOT onyl somw options are missing when you spec a GTS.. the suspension components, the brakes and calibers, the wheels with center locks are thingns you cannot spec on carrera s 😅

8:52 That is where the air comes out that goes through the inter coolers. The air path starts in front of the wing when it opens up and discharges out the bottom and sides of the rear bumper. Super cool and functional design.

My uncle has a Targa4s in white, a GT3 in manual, and GT4 in manual as well. He's let me drive 2 out of the 3 (both GT's), and my GOD are the driving dynamics, handling, steering, and low stature incredible. I'm sure this GTS is no different. Porsche really is the king of amazing-to-drive-yet-luxurious car makers out there. The undisputed king.
I love both the Porsche and the Corvette both are mid engine and can fly like jets. Joe thanks for bringing us some German engineering and of course the thrill ride and Steven for his great camera work!

The 911 is better than any other car that has ever existed. It’s as close to perfect that you can get.

The new C8 Corvettes (especially the ZO6) are good cars. The Porsche 911 GTS is a great car. If you have the means, be sure to check one out, you will not be disappointed. As a Corvette and Porsche owner, the Vette is a price point car. The 911 is simply the best money can buy.
The Z06 has beaten the 992 GT3 in every track comparison, and the C8 Stingray beat the times of the 992 Carrera S and the GT4, lighter and on better tires (Cup 2’s vs PS4s on the C8). Wouldn’t that make them kinda great too?

I have a 911.. 991.2 GTS and I love her to bits. Best car I have ever owned.
I’m a manual guy myself , but PDK is next level. Actually, I’d feel like I was leaving performance on the table and not extracting the most of the car without it.

Yeah and when your C8 Is in the shop it will be worked on right next to a gigantic wheel drive Chevy truck - no specialists there. Don’t forget re-sale value too. I like C8’s too but the 911 always wins in every category.

As a multiple 911 owner and current owner of a 2018 GT2 RS, the thing you have to know about buying a GT Porsche (the GTS being the bottom entry point), is that it is not easy to get an allocation, whereas Chevy has decided they will build one more vette than people are willing to buy, so you can walk into any Chevy dealer in the country and probably walk out with a C8 the same day.

Wow, Joe that's a tough choice a Chevy Z06 or a iconic white Porsche, I will probably pick the Chevy Corvette Z06, because it is a American sports car at its finest, in my opinion.

The 911 GTS is just about as perfect as it gets for a daily driver to me. Love this color combo. Alas, the budget will not allow for perfection so I will have to stay with my Mazda 6 Signature…lol.
My family happens to own one of these cars and I can tell you that it is one amazing car. My favorite features are the infotainment system and the sport exhaust system. If you're looking for a good premium sports car, this is the one to go!

C8 long time GM vette owner.... just sold them all and purchased this and the 718 ...... having a blast! Percision is all I can say as a car guy. Also, if new GM is all about constraints, you can pay 100K but cant order what you want. Later is what I said.....best! BTW need to look for shade.....
Except you'd have to pay an ADM for a GTS also. GM is not about constraints, this is just a matter of the current car market, impacting all sought after cars, including vettes and most porsches. Your comment is misleading.

I don't know why everyone hates the shift lever. I have a 992 myself, and love it! It looks great, feels good, the texturing matches other toggle switches in the car and it's not bulky like some shifters.

The shifter seem to bother most people, yet that is a part that noone notices. On the other hand, yo can easily modify it in any way you want. (One fix to it is to get a manual:)! LOVE IT. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

Great video keep up the good work but I think you're wrong about the shifter it gives the 9/11 style so many of these car companies are putting the shifters on the wheel and I think they are suited best on the floor and I think they did a good job with the design it's small it's not obnoxiously large or all that it's stylish..

I sold my 2023 Z06 last August after driving it for 3K miles. I just got my 2024 Targa 4S and I’m absolutely in love. Completely different drive and I would take a Porsche over a Vette any day.

The vertical strakes on the rear hatch 9/2/9 are for the current generation 992. But 911 kinda works too!
A better Zo6 comparison would be the GT3. I have a 992 S as a daily driver, it’s surprisingly practical.

@@G0ddEityawesome the look is iconic and although the sound doesn’t compare to some of these high revving V8’s and V12’s, it sounds better than a Tesla and videos do it no justice. A GT3 with a 9,000 RPM redline is a difference story. With that said, I just like driving it, so I’m glad it has some practicality.
Sold my 23 c8 z51 for a 22 GTS. I can tell you right now, the C8 was an amazing car and the z06 no doubt is even better. However, Chevy's build quality was no where near the Porsche. Lots of plastic bits inside the Chevy and stress sounds especially with the targa top. Also ingress and egress into the C8 was much more difficult. I didn't like the low visibility in the back even with the camera. Driving the 22 GTS (Manual) it was as if I entered a new driving experience. AMAZING car and wish everyone has a chance to drive one.

Up until a few years ago, I wasn't a fan of the black wheels, however... over time, I've really become accustomed to the look and the options with the various brake caliper colors and this beautiful 911 is no exception to that appeal. The edge that best illustrates the advantage of this 911 over the 2023 Chevy C8 Corvette Z06 is simply the overall reliability of the Porsche brand over the Corvette, as much as I also really like the C8 Corvette.
I agree that all 911 should come with 3rd center radiator from the factory. Unfortunately, you will have to pay extra to have it installed unless you are from hot-climate area (come standard if ordered from the middle east).
As a Chalk 992 GTS owner I'm probably biased but I'd take my car over the Z06. In the mountains its freaking amazing. Coming from a GT500 CFTP its been a good step up for me. I have the carbon buckets, PDK, rear wheel steer, Burmester system, and race-tex all over the interior. You need to press the button in the mode selector switch and do a launch. Or a 30mph roll launch. Car is very quick

I'd take the C8's over the 911 GTS and no PDK for me. Chevy's for less and more storage too Save $$$$ for options like fitted luggage when you order and drive off lot.
I can confirm the Z06 prices are insane and that's probably the worst part about the Corvette. This GTS offers alot for the money and the starting price is very reasonable.

This is true, The thing is, though, Corvette can justify the prices. That V8 is a marvel of engineering, and GM knows V8's like no one else.
I never thought Corvette would ever rise to this level, but given their GT endurance racing dominance over the last two decades, they have earned it.
But you must remember you won’t be able to find an allocation for 911 gts I had to pay 25k over for my allocations last year
The Z06 starts at 108,000. Dealer mark ups are disappearing, the Porsche has no performance advantages over the Corvette

I guess the whole safety thing is so if you hit somebody on a bike or a pedestrian, their leg doesn't get caught in the grill but let's just be honest if you hit somebody with that car as low as it is to the floor they're probably ending up on the windsheild.
