Just asking does your Pokémon stop killing when it’s shiny or does it just kill
A useful tip, disguised pokemon are always the max size for the pokemon they disguise themselves as. So just target down the biggest ones.
I was also going to say this. Glad I checked first haha!
And normally disguised as mons that never appear alone
that strategy works very well for bigger pokemon or ones usually in groups like honchcrow. but pokemon like impidimp. it doesn't work that well

Just found my shiny Maschiff around that area last night. Oddly enough, I forgot where exactly I was supposed to go and was roaming around here for about 15min before i left and came across the shiny as I was starting to exit the area. Plus I didnt make the sandwich early enough, so I was dealing with alot of Murkrow in my path. Started crying after I evolved for a shiny Mabosstiff because it reminded me so much of my dog who passed away 3 years ago. Named Mabosstiff after him to honor his memory.

Here's a nice tip. If you specifically want to hunt zorua and don't want many interference, I reccomend going to the area by the ruins right next to the other hill he showed. A lot less groups spawn.

Ive come across alot of youtubers who make videos about pokemon S/V. But no one has been so usefull like youve been, yet here you are with 12k subscribers. When you reload where you saved It removes the disguise of the Zorua, but also removes your sandwich buff.

Thanks so much for this, i did 5 reloads yesterday in that forest area with the painted trees (can’t remember the name at the moment) and got nothing, but once i followed this i got my shiny on my first sandwich of the day! Zorua number 269!

Caught my Shiny Zorua in 4 minutes into my sandwich, at night, disguised as a Murkrow, lol.
I also got a shiny Murkrow as soon as I activated my sandwich.

Might try going for raids for the Mystica, this hunt takes forever without it. Since Zorua can disguise as about any Pokemon that exists in the area, I don't see why I shouldn't go after everything I see (it both tests for shiny and maybe opens up for another spawn too). Meanwhile, here are Pokemon I found you can guarantee are disguised Zorua:
Mabostiff (unless surrounded by Mastiff)
Greedent
Pineco
Applin
Sawsbuck (I believe, unless surrounded by Deerling)
I have 12 shinys, this is by far the hardest hunt yet. not easy at all I tried with 7 sandwich attempts and I cant get a shiny zorura to many mastobiffs spawn some walk away as you go kill others the ones furthest away will despawn meaning u cant actually check them all consistently you have a likely chance of despawning the shiny because some spawn so far away.
I caught it the same day I wrote this comment, guys just kill as many as you can as quick as you can don’t worry about anything but killing as many before the sandwich time runs out
man, this feels like a fever dream because Im altready trying to get it for 5 hours straight without any effect....
A cheeper sandwich is just smoked fillet and sweet and salty mystical herba. Worded for me

Pineco, appilin and other tree spawn will always be zorua if found on the ground.

So I didn't actually know about the ZL thing to see what a pokemon was so hadn't found a Zorua until now so just tried it and found one, first one I got was a shiny I'm still in disbelief :') you blessed me with luck I swear bruh

I get Zorua outbreaks all the time, but the game never gives me a notification saying I'm at the outbreak? Then I hunt the ones in disguise which takes FOREVER because there's always like none of them around.
disguised pokemon outbreaks are broken, ditto outbreaks are broken too. no clue how gamefreak messed up this bad

I just found this trick out, not sure if it's just my game or not, but if there is a zorua on screen in disguise and you save then soft reset your game it's not disguised when it reloads

got two here at this location. did notice that about 90 percent of the zorua's was mostly hiding as mabs
I’m convinced that Zorua in my save file of Pokémon Scarlet is shiny locked. I tried to catch this Pokémon for over a month with this method and still nothing. Nothing wrong with your method btw. That’s great. I’m just unlucky.

Maybe a Stupid Question but what happens if Zorua has a mass outbreak? Does it still appear Disguised or does it spawn as Zorua then?
they're broken, and don't spawn because gamefreak's lazy ass won't fix it
So i have a shiny zoroark, hisuian zorua, and hisuian zoroark, if i get a shiny zorua i will have both lines living shinies ill definetily hunt fo this one at some point
Thank you. After I got one I kept hunting till my sandwich had 3mins left then stood where I could see the most zorua (dogs) saved the game turned it off &on looked around an got a second one in the crowd. Lol
I have a mass outbreak of zoroark and I used a sandwich to encounter more but I’ve only seen like 3 spawn and doing the picnic reset, any tips??
The zorua and ditto outbreaks dont work sadly. You just have to get lucky or use sandwiches, shiny charm, or all of the above

Using these tips I found one in just one sandwich in about 15-20 mins! Caught it in a moon ball too. Had to forfeit the rest of the sandwich though cause it popped out of the moon ball on the first encounter lol. But totally worth it

You can also save the game and reload and Zorua and Ditto show up in their true form
Would letting your Pokemon auto battle defeat any shiny Pokemon your after or do your Pokemon not attack shiny Pokemon?
I was also able to use two salt to get encounter rate too
tried getting a shiny from a zorua outbreak. waste of time i couldn't even bring the outbreak numbers down because they wouldn't spawn near it. So I went to your spot and got a shiny in like 3 encounters

Btw. Just finished my sandwich hunting Zorua but got zero. Haha Murkrows and Honckrows at night can be Zorua just look for those who are alone, same rules apply with Mabosstiff
I battled over 70 zorua and no shiny and instead got two different shinys I didn’t want. Yay. Great video though

How did u know that mamostiff was actually a shiny zora without fighting it? Im scared of knoking out a shiny by accident
you can't knock out a shiny, even if it doesn't appear shiny in the overworld. Auto battle is how you know its shiny

In violet, the spawm don't boost with sandwich and i have 3 zorua outbreak, i hunt zorua not at night and they are not many zorua with dark sandwich .. i think my game is broken u_u

Can anyone explain why the Gallade auto battled the other mons, but when it came across the shiny, it didn't, and Zoura ran away? Does it always do that for a shiny? I'm trying not to accidentally k.o the shiny.
Autobattle ALWAYS ignores shiny Pokémon, best way to make sure Imo, I once almost missed a shiny Garganacl in area zero because of the lighting until my Pokémon refused to fight it
When im trying to hunt for this stupid thing it doesnt make a difference that i have encounter power dark in daylight. Im not getting dark types because its datlight
