Im a nurse working on a medical ward, we had a patient that had come in by ambulance thanks to the apple watch! It detected that she had fallen and didnt respond for a period of time, and turns out she had an undiagnosed heart condition. So i recommend the apple watch 🙆🏻‍♀️

It's so bloody unfair that someone especially so young has to go through so much shit. Again I know that you will shed a lot of tears in private as well as sharing some of the real hardships with us. I know I've said it before but I have the start of arthritis, but I'm old so it's almost accepted, but since finding your Chanel I don't bitch about it and I think many people find seeing you getting through it all helps them to keep things either in perspective or know that they too are not alone in their medical struggles. Keep strong and I bet you just take the bad as well as you enjoy the good things that happen.

I just wanna say, no matter how shitty your health is someone is gonna have it worse but that doesn't mean you should shut up about it. It may make you feel guilty because of someone being worse that you've came across, but still don't feel bad talking about it! Physical health changes can really fuck your mental health up. I have chronic conditions and pain myself and I tried to not talk about it because of a couple people I knew being worse and it made my depression and anxiety horrible! You stay strong yourself and please don't be feeling like you can't complain and open up about your health!

@@stephanieann6622 What kind words, thank you. I will say that since writing this comment I've started using CBD oil and it has such a positive effect on me physically that I'm now in such a better place mentally than I was even. Think about trying it for yourself as even I wasn't convinced at it's use as I had tried a brand from a high street health shop which was rubbish! This stuff I'm using has such excellent reviews and for me personally, it's reduced the aches and pains by 80%. "Blessed cbd" is the brand name. Sadly not cheap but worth every penny in mycase.

@@suz7196 you're welcome! And I have tried it including actually weed/edibles sadly they don't help. And if I get the wrong strain it makes my severe RLS worse. I have an ‘old lady type’ of falls bracelet.
I wouldn’t consider myself old though (...ie. going sailing on Wednesday!).
I would definitely go for the Apple Watch too, at least it’s something normal for someone to wear and it works anywhere, whereas mine only works when it’s linked to the safety alarm/on call system at home.
Please don’t worry about your weight, if anything should happen (like this time last year when things started to get really, really scary), your body will have more muscle to keep you stable for longer.
You look a million times more healthy than this time last year, next year your birthday will be in your own home 🔑🏡😁🎉

Amy, I've only recently started watching your vlogs. If no one has told you, you are an amazing young lady! You go through this journey that life has thrown you with grace and humor. I have had gastrointestinal issues since childhood. I have a redundant colon with severe angulation, and scar tissue from hernia surgeries and an infection of the lymph nodes covering my abdominal organs when I was two. So I've had some struggles with all things gastro but it is NOTHING compared to what you cope with. I just wanted to tell you how amazing I think you are. Hang in there kiddo!!

I have issues with seizures and other balance issues myself the Apple watch seems to work pretty well. I was able to get a doctor's note for it so it did not cost me as much and I could write it off in taxes I'm not sure if you can do that where you're living but it's worth checking into

@@lexytaylor6262 I'm from the states. Granted I did have to jump through hoops. I had to get a note from my disability coordinator oh, then I had to give that note to my insurance coordinator, who in turn after 3 weeks okay to me to buy it and they reimbursed me. Then I was able to claim it as medical necessity on taxes. As I said it was not an easy process but it does help.

I have the new Apple Watch specifically for the fall detection feature. It calls whatever number you program it to call if needed. It does it after you fall and don’t move for 10min. Also like that it tells me if my HR goes tachy.
The skin prep you have should not be used on your Hickman site bc the bottle like that is not sterile. If you ever do need it for you line site you need the individual packets.

I'm really relieved you're ok and feeling better (even if it's just a little) as well as have such an amazing medical team giving you the best management plans.
I'm currently studying nursing (in Perth 😁) and we've recently gone in-depth on seizures, on top of that one of my childhood best friends used to have severe epilepsy. I can honestly say that when I'm in a clinical setting they are going to be the most challenging for me to assist with because I know how terrible they can potentially be and that even though people may experience them regularly (or at least fairly frequently) they can still reach a level that's worse than normal. My friend had a really bad one when I was at their house years ago when his mum wasn't home and I've never been more terrified and felt as helpless as I did then.
I've only recently found your channel and I watched about 20 videos in the first sitting 😅 but I'm grateful I did and I hope you had a fantastic birthday celebration even if it wasn't your desired plans!

Amy! You are the strongest most beautiful lady ever. Tbh you are my most favorite youtuber not only because you are amazing, funny, and awesome but also because I relate to you so so much I have so much chronic illness myself. I have congenital hypothyroidism with a synthroid resistant thyroid that ended up almost ending my life and had to be removed to save my life, but SADLY the surgeon who took my thyroid out BOTCHED my surgery and cut and paralyzed my vocal chords leaving me unable to breathe or speak on my own and had to get a trache in my neck. I've now had almost 13 surgeries in order to get the trache out and rewire my vocal chords. I have a surgery every 5 years or less now to cut all the scar tissue out that grows in my airway leaving me on oxygen, cpap and on bed rest most of the time. I swear the older you get the worst your body scars and slows down healing so much. Chronic illness is my life and always will be and I dont have anyone to relate to anymore since I lost my best friend to cystic fibrosis. You honestly make me feel like I'm not so alone. Sorry for the long rambling storytelling I just wanted to say you inspire me and help me not feel so alone. You're my hero ♡♡♡♡ love always and also I hope Lilly's doing better!

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry that happened to you. That must have been very scary for you and your family. I'm glad your feeling a little better now. Happy Birthday 🥳🥳🥳🥳! When my girls ( like your mom, I also have 2 girls) lived at home I always made them a birthday dinner. It was whatever they wanted. Thank God it wasnt breakfast because I cant cook breakfast food to save my life. I once tried pancakes for them and the house filled up with so much smoke we had to open all the windows. I think a special meal on a special day is a nice tradition. Enjoy your birthday. Having a few friends over to watch a movie is just what the doctor ordered after going through what you did. Then when your feeling much better you get a second bigger party. There has to be a perk for you after all you've been through.

A brand new Apple Watch series 5 came out today!! I find mine helpful. It has alerted my emergency contacts for me and even emergency services though once by accident (which I was able to cancel quickly). You can alter the heart rate notifications so that it only notifies above or below whatever number you choose which is handy with POTS. Definitely vote the Apple Watch. In Aus it doesn’t have the capabity of the ECG tracing it has been allowed in other countries but it definitely does the job.
Nice to see you back again!!!

It's also connected to my CGM which shows my blood sugar. If any of my numbers are off it will alert my 3 main contacts by text and phone call...and it will also show my location. Amazing device. Definitely worth the purchase for me.

Having a chronic illness is a rough road. If you don't show it on the outside people can be so hurtful.
I hope your doctors are able to make life better for you. There is the possibility that you can get so cynical and fed up. Been there done that.... I get angry at my body for not performing like it used to. lol There are days I just want to trash the house, break some dishes just to get all my frustration out. Thank you for educating all of us that takes a lot of courage.

Depends on the pendant. My dad has one round his neck, my friend has one for his wrist. The wrist one works well though I'm not sure my dad's had much luck with the necklace style one, my mum's been home every time he's collapsed or had a seizure.
I'm rarely alone, like i can count on one hand how many times I've been left on my own in the past few years.

Oh my gosh you had me so scared! I’m so glad your doing a little better. I hope your belated birthday celebrations will be fun! Please give us all an update on the Apple Watch when you can. I’ve been contemplating getting one too. I’ve had issues since I was born with extremely how potassium and have had odd spells of what I could explain as a seizure episode and my muscles with hurt a lot, but never given that diagnosis. That’s so interesting too me. I’m going to research. I use the exact same brand of skin prep, but I use the wipe version and love it! I keep some in my pocket book and ask the hospital to use it. Please rest and don’t over due it you have a house to construct!!!! ❤️

How can anyone even press on the thumbs down 👎🏻🤬this makes me so mad, keyboard warriors nothing else better to do with their lives. Amy is a truly inspirational young woman who endures so many health issues which she shares with us all. I’m so proud of you Amy, love you lots, keep smiling 🤗so pleased you got to the hospital and got treatment, like you say it could have ended very differently, this is what gets me mad about the ignorance of some people in the world who actually have no idea what it’s like to live with a severe debilitating condition, and just press thumbs down without knowing the facts.
Anyway my lovely take good care love from the UK 🇬🇧🤗🤗💜🖤💜🖤

I’m glad that you’re doing better, at least you are at home. I totally understand what you’re saying about your health has tendency to mess up your plans . My husband and I are on our anniversary trip right now and I really really wanted to be able to get out at least some , and I really really wanted to go to the mountains where we had our honeymoon !! But no my body/health had to totally ruin that plan !!
On other things, my husband got me an Apple Watch for Mother’s Day probably like 3 years ago and he got the series 3 for my birthday last year and I didn’t know that it could be useful for medical help but it really has saved my life several times and I’m not kidding. I hope that you will find it helpful ! I really want the newest one but I don’t know if I have much longer to be here . Thank you so much for all you do .

Unless you get a pendant with a fall alarm, which aren't very common, a pendant would be pointless. You need to press the button for the company to know that you need help, if you are seizing then you're not going to be able to press the button.

Love the polaroid and you do NOT look like Snape!! I love that you are keeping it in your car to have it with you when you are out and about. Also, your steering wheel looks like it could use a wipe down again with a makeup remover wipe. I'm so sorry you have to deal with health issues daily but then have these horrible surprises such as seizures randomly. Do you get an aura before they happen to have some warning or is it completely out of the blue? I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your hip isn't messed up too bad. Love you girl!!!

You are such an inspiration! 2 years ago my life started to change for the worse and only 8 months ago it completely flip upside down, I found out that I have EDS and now waiting to see if I have POT syndrome and other various things. I can honestly say, just watching your videos in the last few weeks has shown me how to take control of my conditions and not allow them to have control of me! I cannot thank you enough for simply just having the confidence to show others how to live to the fullest even with a list of medical conditions. I hope your seizures improve, I use an old fitbit for my bpm's and its not bad. The apple watch sounds like it would do the job xx

We bought a livelifealarms pendant for my grandparents. It uses the Telstra network and you can set it up to either call 000, and/or a cycle of 5 different numbers that you nominate if a fall is detected or you press the alarm button. It sends a GPS location and stays connected until the person you called hangs up. If they don't answer it keeps going through the list until someone answers. Really helpful!
