Oh bless you, sounds like such a tough surgery.. you are a warrior.. I know how severe post surgery pain can be like, I had colostomy surgery when my bowel perforated, and before that, I didn’t think humans could survive that much pain. .. wishing you a good recovery x

Happy birthday Amy! I'm glad your surgery went ok , your amazing lady all you have been through and you still smiling . I have had AIDS since 1989 and I have end stage COPD with only a third of my lung capacity left , I'm on continues oxygen and I feel so poor it's hard for me to smile , I wish I had your strength . I pretty much have to be a hermit no immune system and I can't breath , but I've been following you for a couple of years and you amaze me , your so strong . The fact you can vlog right after major surgery is amazing. Your so strong. After my total hip replacement I was in so much pain. Worst pain I’ve ever experienced and I really just wished I would die. I would never have been able to vlog. I think it’s amazing you share your experiences with everyone as it shows that us young people do have to go through so much pain and horrible things. So thank you for sharing this xx

I have had multiple hip surgeries, the worst being a revision of a replacement, and there is no pain worse. Including child birth. I was in the hospital 9 days and honestly wanted to die. The fact you are able to vlog in the hospital is amazing. Hope you are healing quickly!!❤️❤️

I have also had multiple hip surgeries since I was a child I’m now 32 my last hip replacement was in 2014 I was 26. I had to have my just replaced hip replaced 2 weeks later because of infection. I will say my rotator cuff repair was more painful by they had to reshape my shoulder joint and remove bone Spurs. It sucked but I’ve gained a super high pain tolerance!
I hope your pain is in control. I was in the ER with a kidney stone and it hurt so bad. It’s terrifying knowing your in the one place that can help you the most but you still feel so terrible. It makes it feel a bit hopeless.

hi had this same surgery back in july, i feel your pain its horrible, we had the same surgeon and hospital, i hope your recovery is going well.
In 2017 I was in the hospital on and off for vomiting, nobody could ever figure out the reason why I kept getting the pain in the stomach and had to vomit. in 2018, same thing happened on and off.. Then in 2019 it finally came to a hault, and I have no clue what I did for it to change, But in the process I found your videos, I watched them over and over just to see what you were going through compared to what I was dealing with.. You videos are awesome and I hope you never stop posting!

If you had surgery here in uk you wouldn’t have been allowed visitors . It’s Visitors that keep us sane whilst an inpatient 🥺
Right! I'm in America (which is embarrassing to even admit right now, so ashamed of our country) and we can't obviously have visitors either. I have EDS as well and have to see my orthopedic surgeon next week to discuss having my shoulder repaired. His office is in the main hospital and I have to use my wheelchair which has to bee hauled out of my trunk and put together. It's really heavy because I have Twion wheel assist and a solid frame. I have a service dog that I have to bring with me if I go anywhere by myself. They are so strict here (which is a good thing) that I can't have anyone help me once I get to the hospital doors. Managing all of that alone is really hard as it is, but with a completely torn shoulder that keeps dislocating, wheeling my own wheelchair even with the wheel assist is just super painful and frustrating to have to keep stopping to relocate my humerus. It pops out and then sticks so my elbow is behind me when I reach back to grab the wheel and I'm always in someone's way because it's me and my dog who is perfectly trained but likes o sniff people when they walk by. So annoying. So not only do our visitors and family or friends help by keeping our spirits up, this damned pandemic is making things extremely difficult for people like me. There is probably an exception but my mom is typically the one who helps me and I'm 45, she's 75 so I don't want her anywhere near a hospital. This pandemic is so upsetting and I wish things had been handled appropriately here so we could put it behind us. All the complaints about wearing a stupid mask that I have had to wear everywhere I go for the past 5 or 6 years now, it's absurd and selfish.
Amy you have been doing great at handling all of this. I am really happy you have Tom who loves you so much. You give me a little bit of hope because I have always felt that I am way too much to handle for anyone in regards to a relationship. I have given up on that altogether. It would be a sexless relationship and I am either in bed or at a doctor's appointment these days. I don't see how that would be appealing to anybody. Meh.
I live in Australia and WA have their borders closed and no covid infections. I'm in Victoria Australia and we have been in lockdown and I couldn't have visitors at all. Depends on the state you are living in.
I hope your recovery is getting better now. Thank you for recording Eventhough you were in alot of pain.
Amy you’re doing great, you’ve done what not many do, you’ve gotten on with it. You’ve dealt with what’s came your way. You’re one of the most resilient people I have had the pleasure of watching. I myself am going through my journey of gastroparesis, joint instability and random reactions to products. Your updates help me a lot. I am not asking for more regular updates, but what you’re doing is good! Hope you find a better life as I hope my and others do!

Oh honey! My prayers are with you. I am kind of in the same boat as you but with my knee. I found out during my meniscus removal I have a defect in my Cartilage and looking at a whole complex and extensive surgery. Pretty much the doctor has given me till November 5th with PT to at least lower my pain or I will be sent to a joint specialist. Take care of yourself, hon. ❤
I only just found out about her passing; I just thought she was taking a long break due to health issues. I feel so sad and broken. I'm glad she's no longer suffering... but oh, what a wonderful light this world has lost. 😥 We miss you, Amy. Bless your family and rest in peace, sweet girl. ❤️❤️

Amy good to see you. Sorry you had to have so much pain after surgery. I had a total hip replacement on my right hip n was discharged next day. That's when my pain was the worse. I'm glad you had your family n Tom with you. I think that helps to lift your spirits. When I got home after my surgery I only had my kitty. Did you have any hallucinations while on pain meds? It was insane for me. Take care n I hope you're up n walking now. ❤

Wow.. I got surgery 3 months ago because of my EDS, I got two ostomy's, one ileostomy and a urostomy. The pain was NOT under control... I screamed all day, all week.
And honestly, watching this makes me really re-live that, and for some reason it hits me hard😳 I didn't think it would.

Ohhh Amy I’m so sorry. I had my GJ placed today and I’m in so much pain. And I’m on pain meds. Didn’t know it was this painful.
Honestly getting my GJ surgery was the second most painful thing that I’ve ever experienced besides my hip of course, that was just agony and the most pain I’ve ever been in! It was so bad that I wanted to die. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone!😭😭😭

I can relate to u bout pain Amy, I suffer from chronic migraines I've had them for 36 years been through three neuroligists and I got told I'm gonna have them the rest of my life, u know u are in pain when ur asking ur go to give u a labotomy so u don't feel the pain anymore

I live in Illinois USA and because of the Covid Virus all restaurants are closed and patients cannot have any visitors, including family and spouses. I know someone who had a Kidney Transplant in Chicago and family was told to come back for her in 14 days. No visits! So sad. Hope you recover quickly!!

Hi Amy! So sorry to hear that you had a lot tougher hip surgery than last years hip surgery. That's a really cool 101 Dalmatians pillow and pajamas. I'm so glad you were able to get some fresh air and a little bit better sleep. Tom is as sweet, funny, and supportive as always, your toes look great by the way. I'm glad you got to see your whole family, joking around with them and eating ice cream. It was shocking how much gravy you got with not so much mashed potatoes, lol the gravy looked so dark too. I'm so glad that they were able to adjust your pain meds better so you aren't screaming and crying all day. I wish you the best of luck with your recovery, and hope you get better rest in your own bed and home. Sending you lots of love and prayers.
She helped me so much I have a jtube with a g-tube to drain as she did..a port for daily ivs ..pacemaker..colostomy bag..definitely will be missed RIP ..😇😭
