    Metal detectors don 't actually transmit a signal into the ground and wait for a response reflected from a metal target. That's how radar works, and metal detectors are not like radar. The search coil on a metal detector radiates or 'emits' an electromagnetic field all around itself. When a metal object enters that electromagnetic field it creates an anomaly in the field, and the detectors processor senses that anomaly. Similar to the technology that is used to detect submarines by anti-submarine aircraft flying overhead. Theirs is called MAD gear.....Magnetic Anomaly Detector.

      They do transmit a signal as well as receive signal 🤡

    Hi! The electromagnetic field is more like an invisible globe around the coil, rather than one, down directional wave. If a metallic object is swung above the coil it will pick it up as well. I found that this is something that metal detecting beginners are failing to understand and this video does not help with that due to the way the electromagnetic field is graphically represented [e.g. 1:49].

    • @aasairavi4956

      How to break the magnetic field?? Can you please give a idea

    • @MagusDetectorismo
      @MagusDetectorismo 2 месяца назад

      It is not a globe because as the item passes through the sides the field is non-existent. The graphic in the video is correct, but it repeats itself above the coil as well as below... It's more like an hourglass shape.

      This was a very poor - and fundamentally inaccurate - representation of how a metal detector works. Do you like to listen to "story", fairy tales,.. or is it important to be reliable?

    This has to be the greatest invention known to man. Someone really made a handheld electromagnetic field.

    • @jackhamerordewey9552
      @jackhamerordewey9552 Год назад +2

      Well, ironically, the invention of fire was the best invention, and if you make a torch with this fire, you literally have a handheld electromagnetic field! All light, visible and invisible, are really manifested by electromagnetic waves, which is literally just oscillating electromagnetic fields.

    So this works on any and all metals or just metals with iron in them? Magnetic is in the phrasing there so I assume magnetism has something to do with it and only metal with iron are magnetic.

    • @baneverything5580

      A disturbance in the field causes the beep. Metal & EMI both cause this.

    You should consider editing your videos before posting them. It's not necessary to including stuff like the typo in the opening card, sniffing, misreads, etc - are you aware of recording in multiple takes?
