Great dude..this really gives the confidence in doing my car. BTW how long did you wait in between each coats ? will it take more time or can we immediately apply the next coat over the dip?
Hey usually about 15-30 minutes depending on the temperature but you can see with your eyes when its completely dry then its ready for another coat, just make sure its not wet still in certain areas before you apply the next coat
Same process really, just put a bag behind the rim to cover all brake parts, clean wheels very well (i clean each wheel twice, once with soap and water and then with rubbing alcohol) , apply tire shine to side wall of tire and start spraying your coats, starting off with light coats and then solid wet coats near the last finishing coats which i do 10 coats. After your last coat let it dry and then peel the side wall of the tire and take the bag out from behind the wheel carefully
Everything in this video was awesome but I am a little unclear with one thing. If i wanted to get the satin look, do I have to use the matt plasti dip first, and then the semi gloss. Just wanna know if i have to work all the way through stages of the plasti dip or can I just start and only use the satin?
Ben Fanelli hey! The satinizer is a top coat only that goes on top of any colour to achieve the satin finish. You start with your base colour first and then finish it off with the satinizer (2-3 coats of it)
Big shout out to #EhabHalat. Finally got my wheels done with your help. Took your advise 8 coats of Black Plastidip followed by 2 coats of 2k clear. They look amazing. Thanks for all your help.
Hey! If you are looking to do a flat black, just use black plasti dip and clear coat them after with plasti dip clear or if you want a more semi permanent finish use 2k clear coat by spraymax
Yeah, i'd recommend plasti-dip if you just want flat black, especially on new rims. Just make sure you use plenty of coats and that, apart from the first 1 or 2, they are laid on thick. It sounds counter-intuitive but plasti-dip is easiest to remove when it was laid on thick, as it tends to peel off in larger pieces. The cool thing about plast-dip is that it will actually protect the original finish of your new wheels so, if you ever decide to sell them, you can return them to original condition really easy.
lee yu well the DYC website does say “so easy ALMOST anyone can do it” lol.... I guess you’re the exception xD along with many others on the interballs

Zane Lee III hey! Yeah you can see a big difference in person. It gives it a light sheen and a little bit easier to clean with the satin finish rather than the matte finish. Always use a clear for a matte finish for extra protection and smoother finish.
jec112203 the Dip Shield is better in my opinion! It is recommended to keep the wheels looking fresh and make cleaning easier especially for the matte finishes. The Dip Shield is $15 USD and $19.57 CAD right now and it will last you a very long time.
