I got some 18’s I’m throwing on for my next track day... and I think you know why! 😉 And thanks again for watching my vids! I do have some things to run by you... I’ll be in touch soon!

    Dude so jealous right now. I cant get my wheels to chirp 2010 3.5L, 93 octane Diablo tune, intake and exhaust done. I just put in a JET 80mm TB but now I get the lightning bolt light. Any tips? BTW I'm out in Minneola so we are practically neighbors

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  4 года назад +2

      Well two things off the hop. 1. I know nothing about the 80mm TB from JET. But... I can guess that you air fuel mix is off. Way off by the sound of it. Depending on what tuner you use (i3, Trinity, etc.) you should be able to read the code in your unit. If not I love the VeePeek scanner on Amazon. Find out what’s goin on. Also 2. I really like the stock box with a K&N as opposed to a shorty CAI. If you were to go long pipe CAI, pulling air from behind the bumper, that WILL work. You can actually lose HP with a short CAI. And lastly, update your DiabloSport unit with the latest software. Plus you may be able to contact DiabloSport over in Sanford, FL. Let the know you are running a V6 with an 80mm TB, and see if they have a solution for the Air Fuel problem, which I’m almost 💯, exists. You can drop me an email, at biglockdaddy2016@gmail.com , lmk what you find out!

    Hey bud. Got me a Chrysler 300 3.5 so basically the same car just a lot…. Heavier I’d guess.
    Regardless
    Jacked up my pipes to be a straight pipe mod
    Doing the C-A-I and was considering a few non perverse mods to make me happy.
    This TB itself is gonna give you what… 10HP? Recommend for a guy like me? 214,000 miles and she’s still runnin strong as hell so I don’t wanna ruin a good thing ya know?

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  3 года назад +2

      Nice on the straight pipe! Did I take the cats out??? As far as the induction side goes. Unless the CAI ur installing is heat resistant, not metal tubing, you’re better off sticking with the air box already on it. There’s an air maze under the air box behind the bumper. I cut the inlet to the air box from the rest and opened up flow there.
      Now for the TB. As I’ve just added nitrous, using the stock air box setup (video coming soon) I want to test both TBs with that setup. But, without nitrous, yes 10 hp sounds right. The best mod was the DiabloSport i3 tuner. Or you can go with the Trinity2. With the tuner, tb and straight piped… the next mods I suggest are good iridium spark plugs. STAY AWAY FROM E3 plugs!!! NGK is where it’s at. I put in MSD coil packs for $200. Make sure you’re on 100% synthetic oil. I like Castrol. Also I use Lucas oil lubrication products. Stabilizer. If by chance you have the NAG1 trans… the sky’s the limit. Nitrous, supercharged, turbocharger whatever. Good luck Storm! Here if you need any more advice!

    man dude im jealous, my 3.5 is completely stock so would this throttle mess up my engine without a tune? and what tuner did u have?

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  2 года назад +1

      So here’s what I know. It does push more air. But… if you don’t tune for it, you’re running slightly lean. Under normal operation you only notice the horrible fuel economy. When you add nitrous and spray the qtr mile… you burn down your plugs. It’s honestly a wonder I have blown it up yet. The tuner I use is the i3, and it’s great for the price! If you have the $$ go for the T2. Having the display in-car, real time will be worth it. I wish I had it! Stay tuned, btw. All my new summer content is getting ready to drop!

      Lol, I love this idea! And as far as cams go, no. Any aftermarket cams will require tuning. Inertia Motorsports has, what I consider (sight unseen, of course), the best options for engine upgrades. Where you’re going to run into problems, is the PCU/TCU. I’ve got a couple different tuning platforms video coming up, so stay tuned for that!

    Hey I have a 3.5L 06 Charger. I’m experiencing limp mode. I replaced the throttle body from a junk yard. Should i update my pcm to the new throttle vin and mileage? Or should i just buy a new throttle body(same as yours) with harness

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  4 года назад +1

      This is interesting... if it’s a stock replacement from the same model/engine Charger from 06-10, there should be no tuning required. I replaced my stock throttle body with an MMX aftermarket TB (71mm), and it was plug-n-play. Also why do you need a new harness??? For the throttle body???

    • @QwertyQwerty-jq3cu
      @QwertyQwerty-jq3cu 2 года назад

      Theres a possibility that the new TB is bad. Put the old one on and see if the problem goes away. The throttle pedal and the TB have to be synced also. You do this by turning the key on but not starting the engine. Very slowly depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Then very slowly let it back up. Then turn the key off. Then start the car and drive it.
      There are 3 circuits in the throttle pedal/TB connection. They are for redundancy/safety. If any one of them is off just a little, it will kill throttle control. It's usually a bad throttle body but can be a bad pedal too.

    Are these legal to have on the streets of California??

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  4 года назад +2

      I would imagine the are legal. But im not sure. there is no tuning required, its just plug & play. By allowing more air in the allow the engine to be much more efficient... and powerful, depending on how you drive. From looking at it you could not tell if its a stock piece or aftermarket. So i'd say go for it, but do so at your own risk.

    When putting a different throttle body, does it need to be tuned or nah.

    • @BigLockDaddysGarage
      @BigLockDaddysGarage  3 года назад +1

      Depends on the actual change to the TB. The one I got from MMX is nah. It’s a 71mm opening... at the inlet. The hole the air goes through, at the tb door, is still the stock size... I believe. The ported-ness of the throttle body isn’t changing the size of the hole, just how much air comes in before, it allows more. However, if you were to go more than 10-11mm larger port, from a 60mm TB to a 80mm+ TB, there’s a good chance the the inner area has been machined & door changed. The manufacturers of these products, at least the ones in the US, will tell you right up front if you need a tune. Stay away from eBay and Amazon, CarID.com, etc. Stick with the people who make and sell these. JET, MMX or whoever makes them for your car. Most of the “porting” is different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Do your homework, and it will pay off! GL!

      This is the kit, but not the exact same I bought 2 yrs ago. It’s also gone up by $20 per kit, too. My personal feeling on the whole CAI... unless you’re going with the long tube system, keep the stock box w/ a K&N. And if you got to the track, take the filter out at the track and keep it in the car until you leave. *AGAIN, IF YOU TAKE THE AIR FILTER OUT AT THE TRACK, MAKE SURE YOU PUT IT BACK IN BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!!* And I’d also go with this kit here, because it has the heat shield. That heat shield is UBER important in these V6’s! Make sure whatever kit you get, it has the heat shield. The extra money spent, WILL be worth it! Here’s the other kit...
