The art style reminds me of the chat heads in oldschool RuneScape and I love it!!! It's like that low polygon kinda vibe that probably works really well with embroidery since you can use more straight lines. That and having less frames per second makes it less time consuming and gives a nice style so it's a win win!
As someone who do animation (not professionally but I have extensive know-how on all sorts of animation), you have the right idea of finishing everything then doing the photo in one bunch. You could also pick up a lot of ideas from watching stop-motion videos since this is the closest to traditional animation (meaning without a lot of digital magics) I think your animation is quite close to stop motion so getting more ideas in that concept can really up the quality. I hate being like a know-it all but for 4:18, for the mouth, I think it would also be better if you put red/reddish color in the mouth instead of just black and then leave it. Reason is at first look, I thought it was a mustache given the cowboy hat so if it's a mouth, it's not that expressed. If it's a mustache, then perfect. Really good work btw for doing this for only 3 weeks. Hope to see your stuff getting more attentions since this is new and really interesting.
Thank you! I agree, I think stop motion is the way to go when it comes to more research and practice since I am basically doing that with embroidery. The bit at 4.18 is actually meant to be a moustache! So I am glad that translated! You dont see it in this video so some context may be lost, but in the full animation the next screen has Ross offering CDawg a moustache and cowboy whip! That being said, I do kinda agree anyway, more detail on eye and mouth drawing might be good in the future, since so much emotion is conveyed through those. I know its a little old school, but I grew up watching Ray Harryhausen stop motion, it would be a dream to one day be able to do animation like that, and include IRL stop motion with embroidery stop motion. I want to get better so I can get to that kinda level (although maybe baby steps for now!) Again thanks for the suggestions, I am starting from no knowledge so it all really helps!!
god damn when i saw this on the ironmouse stream i had to take a tripple take, as a craftsman myself that jumps into the deep end like you did , thats well fucking impressive , absolutly congratulations on that
I like that you're putting thought into the production side of things. That mindset, I think, can really help make your process easier and safer while still putting out high quality creative stuff!
That’s 3 weeks well spent; brilliant idea wonderfully executed. I am curious if you could find a green dye to leave your cloth in to create a natural green screen to add backdrops. I’m not sure how that’d work practically but it was something that popped into my head.
I have to say that you making your passion into something so creative and new was an amazing thing. Not many, if any, people would even think to try this! I hope to see more!
Well deserved win! For a first time you did amazingly!
Jelly casually: "Its my first time making animation". then make a masterpiece.
I think I said that before, but you absolutely killed with this animation. I still can't believe how incredibly creative you are.
Thank you so much Lenny ;-;

leaning into an art style with shifting lines is such a clever way to turn a weakness into a strength!

i still cant believe you made all of this in 3 weeks!!!! you did amazing jelly!!! cant wait for the next animation project!!!!
This is awesome! I am so inspired to try my hand at embroidering now! ❤❤❤
Your skill rocks. I wish I could do something this creative

I don’t know how it might impact the tracing.
ooooooh thats an idea! I have spare green fabric lying around, so it would be worth a test :D Thanks, I will look into that more!
Bro, this was great
Keep the errors it keeps the soul of your work intact

This is really awesome! Makes me want to try to learn embroidery and do bad apple
When I saw this, I knew it would be a winner.
Absolutely fantastic job!!
Amazing. I've done a little embroidery (looking at you snow leopard wall hanging) , This was a massive task.
What a trooper, and especially animating with embroideries.
Make that 396 subs, keep up the great work!
It turned out amazing. If you want more practice with animation with embroidery, maybe make more looping animations, like the hula hooping one.
You smashed that. Congrats :)
Amazing!
impressive
It's so amazing!
This was really very awesome to see
Damn this is impressive so much time put in😮
Congratulations
