Do fire trucks in LA carry portable pumps? In NSW Australia the Rural Fire service have portable pumps on their trucks. These can be carried from the truck by two firefighters to draw water from any source and operate two fire hoses. Frequently homes have been saved in a street by crews using a swimming pool as the water source. There must have a lot of home swimming pools in LA.
the la fire chiefs have been busy with racism for the last decade, too busy for details like pumps. She actually said that they are not able to move wayer uphill and that’s the problem. 😂😂😂😂😂
My little contribution towards the "women in firefighting" conversation. My Dad worked in the Scottish Fire Service for almost 30 years. In that time he worked with 2 women on the shift at different times. 1 of them was great and could pull her weight because she was literally a BODYBUILDER. The other one was just an average woman and could simply not meet the physical requirements, even compared to men who were getting on in years. He would happily have worked with the 1st woman again, but he said the 2nd woman was an embarrassment and could have endangered the lives of victims.

The discussion about the conference and social engineering with DEI/ESG made me think about many years ago I went to a Hypnotist show (Martin St James, who died in 2015) and it brought up the fact that a certain proportion of people are very easily hypnotised or respond to suggestion and a certain proportion you can't hypnotise at all. So, these DEI know they can convince the people on the Left easily, they can never convince the Right and they have to work on the middle. Social Engineering is basically hypnosis and brainwashing, and the people doing it are absolute experts at this stuff.
Three years ago he was the first to directly spill the beans about government coercion and the placement of commissars by your communist regime into his privately run company. He answered the questions put to him frankly, in public, on television, years ago in the full spotlight of a tyrannical regime watching him do it. The Communist regime won the mid-terms and there was no reason for him to do so. But he did. And how was it Trump and Vance got even a chance to contest this election properly? Oh, remember? On this very platform that he owns. That we are watching government critical views right now. One of only two that allow it - X and youtube. California is on the ocean front, The Navy uses salt water for firefighting, why is California wasting fresh water on firefighting? Afraid that a fire contaminated sight may have salt water contamination too?
I believe it's because: 1. Salt wears out equipment faster 2. Salt water ruins the ground for regrowth 3. Salt conducts electricity making it more dangerous for personnel But this stuff is easily googleable

Correction for clarification because it scared me when you said it Gary: Rory McCann (The Hound on GOT) is fine. However, he is replacing Ray Stevenson (prolific character actor but he played the third Punisher) who passed away in 2023. Coincidentally, Rory Stevens (a child actor from the 50s through 70s) also passed away in 2023 but he is unrelated to Star Wars.
9:50 VDH has this podcast episode I'm trying to find the name of, where he speaks contemporaneously about the water system built in California from the 30s to the 70s. Just off the top of his mind he goes over our water use, and how the drought is a made up lie, how they are trying to protect the Chinook Salmon (a fish), how they don't re-rout the melted snow from the Sierras, how they don't contain the water from the rainfall. That man is so brilliant. In a perfect world, he would be VP of Thomas Sowell. If we actually had serious v who were well informed, but that's not reality.
It doesn't help watching urban firefighters using tactics that are not reflective of urban rural fire fighting, e.g. the fire fighter getting clobbered by the helo dump. That firefighter that got hit by the helo dump should have been no where near that zone. Then you see fire fighters on nozzles with the street covered by water and every house in view is ablaze (great photo). I served in a urban rural interface area (now its fully urban) and we had to be skilled in scrub and grass fires as well as structures. When I was deployed to support another region, when the houses were ablaze you had to cut the water and move to provide protection to the next house. It was gut wrenching to have to move on; in wildfire events the needs of many outway the individual houseowner, ie its street/suburb protection vs individual house protection.
Can't use salt water? Sorry, I don't agree with you. Saltwater absolutely should have been used. All these "metal" pipes you talk about don't really apply to the runoff pipes which are mostly concrete and those waters would eventually end up in the ocean. YES they should be using saltwater, at least on the houses!
They claim, (not my words or views) that salt water harm's the soil and vegetation. So, city trees and lawns are more important and take precedent over homes.

So, what’s gonna happen if the fires reach those massive tent cities where some homeless people have micro drug labs set up in the deeper recesses? Chemical mixes go boom?? Bet that’ll “slow the spread” of all this. Then again I don’t live there, so for all I know we could still be far from seeing that happen. It's Bakersfield and some town no one has ever heard of. They will need more money. All of this cash, and we can't afford desalination? We can't afford reservoirs? We could have had reservoirs. We could have had power lines that are buried. We could have had aquifers, we could have had a system for collecting rain water. We could have had a forest management that focused on dry vegetation and fallen trees.

Not could have, she did.

We need to strongly consider, money from Congress is going to be used for all of the thousands who are homeless, and the rebuild efforts. That's money raised from all 50 states. So, officially their fire management is now going to be a federal issue. They can't be trusted to work on this. So their so called "drought", issue is now also a federal issue.
