1:23:56 Funny if this is how Netflix makes things. I've been rewatching "Better Call Saul" via Netflix and it's got occasionally really long stretches of no dialogue. There are scenes that go on for several minutes where Mike Ehrmentraut is just doing something without any explanation. You as the viewer have to watch and let the visuals gradually tell you what he's trying to accomplish when he's poking around his car, or wandering around inside of the Madrigal warehouse. I like shows that reward you for paying attention to them, as opposed to stuff like Rings of Power that punishes you for paying attention.
Because that would be a good decision to make and "the wrong people" would praise them for it. I mean, just look at what was unironically said _by the directors_ about Joker 2. You're talking about people who genuinely believe that if a movie is enjoyed by "racists" (people who love it when PoC beat the shit out of actually evil people without lecturing normal people about their "crimes") then that movie is doing something wrong
Ironically, Ellie is played by Abby Normal... Also ironic that they insisted Abby had a realistic body type, yet they couldn't find anyone with that body type to play her.
Nobody ever mentions Timothy Dalton when talking about Bond, the North Wales born actor always seems to get the short straw just because he only did two Bond movies. It's not his fault that there was a legal battle with MGM/UA and Eon at the time, which halted production on Licence To Kill and scuppered the third Dalton movie, that later became Goldeneye. He deserves some respect at least, he was one of the better Bonds.
Thanks for continuing the year by year history by going back to the 1920s! I was hoping that would be the plan, because there's a lot of great movies and history worth a mention from 1925 to the 1980s.
Disney has officially hit the point where they can release a new Star Wars project, and nobody will even notice. So much damage has been done to this franchise to the point where people won't even keep up/tune in for 1 episodes. And the part that is really going to hurt them is that all of their future projects are going to hurt them more.
Well, then it still asks the question then.... "Why HAVEN'T they just hoovered up pools and dumped em' on the fires?"...Seems a little better of an idea then running with a "water sack" held in the hand...
@LoneWolf-gz9mr haven't looked into it but haven't they mentioned high winds, this could be an issue for helicopters. Also the size of the fires. They probably are using these helicopters/planes but its like trying to put out a house fire by spitting on it.
The bank of England, I'm assuming other countries central banks as well, will take old notes but they will only repay you the old face value, so if you had a £5 note from 1960, you will still only get £5. while inflation would have made that £5 more like £1000, if it had been kept in a bank.

I’m curious to hear Drinker’s thoughts on the Sonic 3 film from the perspective of a non-Sonic fan given that it’s wiping the floor with Mufasa in reviews and box office
As far as I’m concerned, coming from the original film, everyone *does* have access to The Force and can become a Jedi. Not necessarily to the same levels but the original film led me to believe it can be done as a matter of training, education and discipline. With a simple line, “I want to learn the ways of The Force and become a Jedi like my father,” I was told everything I needed to be. No midichlorians, no family lines, just a young man looking to follow in his father’s footsteps and a teacher who encourages it through learning.
A lot of people think the casting for Abby is amazing, and whilst I think Kaitlyn Dever is a great actress who looks much more like her character than Bella Ramsay does facially I don't understand how she can match up against the men in the show in a physical fight. I mean she is 5'2" and 100 pounds, whereas Abby is 5'8" and 170 pounds of muscle. It's worse in Bella Ramsay's case since she has the build of a 12 year old but this is just ridiculous. Judging from the trailers we have I don't see Kaitlyn getting big enough to where her facing off against men is believable at all - either Abby avoids fighting with anyone other than Ellie or Dina or it'll just be a shitshow
Where would they find an actress to portray the 5'8 170 pounds lean Abby? The CrossFit games? The female mma fighter cris cyborg (whose juiced up beating forced Gina Carano to retire) was only 5'8 165 pounds lean and besides from Gabby Garcia that's as big as a top female fighter has gotten (and Garcia is hardly a top fighter). Most 5'8 males are going to struggle to be 170 pounds lean (at 5'10 165 pounds lean I benched 336 pounds for a single and 225 for 27, for example), women just don't get that big without elite genetics and bucket loads of gear. At which point they're more masculine than trans men in pretty much every way.
Regarding stunts. I still think the coolest stuntman is Buster Keaton, he broke his neck during the filming of Sherlock Jr and didn't even know. He just rested for a while and kept on with the movie, It wasn't 'till years later his doctor asked him when he had broken his neck and Buster said I've never broken my neck and the doctor said yes you have.

They will both be on their tablets, mostly ignore the tv, or even walk out of the room entirely for 15+ minutes then sit down and continue to consume the slop, pause never engaged, 1-3 the episode never seen, next episode just running along or selected from main house no series link except for 2-3 specific shows.
Drinker please do a review of Sorcerer (1977) one of the greatest movies of all time. It's by Friedkin who did the Exorcist. Thank me later. It is without a doubt one of the greastest ever.
Congratulations Reaper and Drinker!!Yayyyy. You just revealed how your brain functions to the world. Now we all have a better understanding as to the reason why some Tigers eat their young.
Hey Drinker. If you're in the mood for a palate cleanser from the toxic sludge trough of modern entertainment, I'd like to reccomend a hidden gem of an anime called "7th Time Loop." The premise, while not exactly original, is more than made up for by extremely well written characters and a plot that is constantly subverting and exceeding expectations. The female lead is proof that a "strong female" character can actually elevate a show to greatness, when properly written, and she makes this show a delight to watch from start to finish. Anyway, I'm fairly new to Open Bar and am still catching up on previous episodes. Thanks for making long work hours go down smooth. Cheers!

44:00 I have seen it repeatedly that as a loyal fan base grows, group think increases. Some people get comfortable and complacent, both the audience and the provider for many reasons; trust, admiration, respect, fear of ostracization, stubbornness to admit a difference of opinion, hero worship, brand loyalty. It can happen and I've seen it happen in every medium from art and books to movies video games and even critics.
When marvel did "what if" it capitalized on the multiversity and that every character is the hero in some universe. When Star wars did "What if" it was a sad desperate attempt at getting attention while the conversation isn't about you.
Re: A break from cannon - Glenn in The Walking Dead series. I think a lot of people were hoping for a break from cannon with how they handled this character. I'd also argue that it was bad to follow cannon and the show lost a lot of viewers because of this. Killing Joel will do the same... also, Bella Rhamsey doesn't have the chops to run the show...
Regarding if you can have different actors playing the same roll. There have been many attempts to do Inspector Clouseau, but the only one that is any good is Peter Sellers. And not cause he was first but cause he is the best.
Oh man I’d love to come in and explain basic currency to you guys :D 35:08 So if you stole a dollar in 1925 and found the same bill Today. That bill would still only buy you 1 dollar worth of goods. This is why you want money in a bank. To at least get interest. However if the bill is in relatively good shape, collectors could buy the dollar for like $100. The currency value is the same, but the perceptive value is way higher.
Wait I’ve never played last of us can someone explain the Joel decision and why it was right or wrong because from what I heard Joel basically killed scientists who were gonna use Ellie to make a cure but she’d die from it
I miss the days when martial arts and Asian cinema were just labelled as “kung fu” movies. I could walk up, grab literally anything off that shelf and have a good time at a usually reasonable runtime and the pure talent and energy in display remains unmatched. Multiple competing human pyramids to claim prizes, wire work and practical choreography where a lot of the blows and FX are basically lots of physical/gymnastic/martial/danve training backed up with chalk dust and fake blood in mouths. Hell the cast numbers and sense of fun alone had me bostalgic but finding them now is horrible as it’s all been lumped in as “world cinema” so it’s next to Bollywood, Russian, Japanese, Korean and even Eastern European works.
So shortsided game developers don't realize the RUclips critiques work both ways - I never would have bought space marine 2 without them. Not a rubix cube- just make good games, folks!

You have to set your notifications to tell you when it comes on live on thursday...that's the only way I've caught it live. It is annoying he takes days to post it.
I really don't understand your guys' hate for daniel craig bond. Yes it went downhill around spectre, and no time to die wasn't good. But i feel like he was the most book accurate bond since sean connery. Pierce Brosnan Bond wasn't great and was the most ridiculous other than roger moore. but for some reason you guys think brosnan was great simply because you grew up with him. I grew up with him too, but no one can argue that tomorrow never dies and die another day were AWFUL. goldeneye and the world is not enough were mid at best. And most of Brosnan's adventures were downright dry.
No bring back the gadgets! That's where Craig's Bond fell apart. Because they went realistic. Best recent Bond? The Kingsmans. I think a old school Bond, maybe even Brosnan as an old Bond. Stop trying to reinvent Bond, just give us another Connery/Moore/Brosnan. Main requirement? He needs to be British.
If it ever came to them trying to copy Sony by making a movie about without the hero main character, Bond's villains are at least interesting (the old ones, Blofeld, Goldfinger, Scaramanga, Dr. No). But hopefully nobody tries to copy that godawful business model

The target Netflix audience is my parents.
Unfortunately it came out when a little independent movie called Star Wars came out. I won't say what it's about but it has nothing to do with sorcery or fantasy unlike the title suggests. Watch it. Thank me later. It is without a doubt one of the greastest ever.
Congratulations Reaper and Drinker!!Yayyyy. You just revealed how your brain functions to the world. Now we all have a better understanding as to the reason why some Tigers eat their young.
I know how many seasons Last Of Us will have....fore!😂 Sorry, I'll go away now
Hey Drinker. Cheers!
Anime is not the answer.

@@Brian_BoruAre you sure? Granted, most of it is crap, but writers being much less constrained by cancel culture and far less studio oversight pushing "THE MESSAGE" means they can still tell good stories with the medium.
@@Brian_Boru Most of it sucks, but there's tons of amazing projects out there.
Always throw out 'Redline' for skeptics. 100% hand drawn insanity, Fast and the Furious meets a mob film and gets injected with LSD lmao. It's fantastic.
Fast cars, beautiful women, a 10/10 soundtrack and an absolutely ridiculously fun story. Grab a beer and a doobie and prepare for a crazy experience
Regarding Bond in the cold war era. I still want him to have some cool tech, that's part of Bond, just like the old Mission Impossible TV-series, they also had some cool tech stuff here and there. It's part of the genre.
Recent films make me long for the silent film era
Secret Level is great!
Bella Ramsey looks like she could play Abby
She could play a foot. She has the charisma and looks of one
@ 😂
44:00 I have seen it repeatedly that as a loyal fan base grows, group think increases.
Some people get comfortable and complacent, both the audience and the provider for many reasons; trust, admiration, respect, fear of ostracization, stubbornness to admit a difference of opinion, hero worship, brand loyalty.
It can happen and I've seen it happen in every medium from art and books to movies video games and even critics.
Now then, now then! 😂 Reaper par excellence!
Every time Metal speaks, I'm reminded how great things could have been.. Imagine 0 woke in the world..
Favorite B/W movie: Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolfe.
Wait I’ve never played last of us can someone explain the Joel decision and why it was right or wrong because from what I heard Joel basically killed scientists who were gonna use Ellie to make a cure but she’d die from it
WOW comments are being deleted left and right.
I’m at the bar at 6 A.M. Oh yeah!!
13:24 “oh no … not again”
Star Wars only exists to be mocked now.
I know who they're going to cast as the new Bond - N'cuti Gatwa! Surprise!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Sales on Star Wars Lego has dropped as well. They cannot get rid of the stuff. Star Wars is a poison chalice now 😢
When Reaper said "Berlin Wall" I thought he said "Bellend Wall." I imagined a wall of dickheads you have to get past to make an original movie.
lol Star Tussle
love me some Reaper! 👌😎
So shortsided game developers don't realize the RUclips critiques work both ways - I never would have bought space marine 2 without them. Not a rubix cube- just make good games, folks!
I'd rather watch Goonies in space. 🎉
Hey Drinker and Reaper, I Triple Dog Dare you to tell Roberta Coletti and her husband how ugly muscles are on a woman in person. Yeah, that's what I thought.
My fave B&W movie is Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Why is there a 3 or 4 day delay unless you watch it live? I've never seen the actual explanation. It sucks!
You are gay that’s why
You have to set your notifications to tell you when it comes on live on thursday...that's the only way I've caught it live. It is annoying he takes days to post it.
Just watch the replay on his other channel like everyone else does who misses the live show
Explanation: He does that to break up the show into parts that people can watch quickly.
Most long hours show do that after a livestream.
Well, Drinker has other things to do… like chugging Toilet Duck!
Is their some lore reason why a Scottish dude drinking as American whiskey?
Where's that meme forehead song for Bella Ramsey?
It's OK though guys.Cowards are people too.
I thought ‘Tactical Fire Bag’ was another name for a female fire-fighter.
Bad joke
No bring back the gadgets! That's where Craig's Bond fell apart. Because they went realistic.
Best recent Bond? The Kingsmans. I think a old school Bond, maybe even Brosnan as an old Bond. Stop trying to reinvent Bond, just give us another Connery/Moore/Brosnan. Main requirement? He needs to be British.
And sorry, but Goldfinger is the best ever Bond.
If it ever came to them trying to copy Sony by making a movie about without the hero main character, Bond's villains are at least interesting (the old ones, Blofeld, Goldfinger, Scaramanga, Dr. No). But hopefully nobody tries to copy that godawful business model
