I realize siege towers need to have some use so the devs might be reluctant to address this, especially since it's not even a common strategy. I also realize there are plenty of other silly things in the game. But siege towers as fast-moving armoured vehicles is too much
Is it too much? They would die very fast to Onagers or Bombard Cannons. And if the enemy's micro is too good for those to hit, the Tower is still outran by Knights and has negative melee armor. Ironically the best counter to drive-by towers might be walls :') edit: Actually, researching Sappers gives villagers bonus damage against Rams (which Siege Towers count as somehow). It's not relevant in this game since Koreans don't get Sappers, but it could be something to keep in mind if there's Tower harassment.

while i'm surprised to see a Starcraft 2 strat being used in AoE2 (units going inside a transport, then leaving to fire at the enemy and then going back into the transport), what surprises me the most is how no one thought abt trying this be4 in AoE2 when the siege tower got added.

Played 3 games (LEL here) and started using these Siege Towers. 3 from 3. It's like a transport ship for my infantry and also yeets them over the walls which is handy
Makes me think that a carriage type unit would be a cool. A transport for land that has the same melee weakness and buff against arrows that rams and towers have but you can put almost any type of infantry in like Kings and Petards. I think it would be cool to see Kings being transported around in carriages. It is accurate after all. In what world would you see Kings going places on foot? Wheeling petards around with them might be a bit OP but I guess we wouldn't know if that's the case unless someone makes the unit possible.... :P
Substituting out rams for siege towers is OP when fighting archer civs- instead of rams against britons, have siege towers flying around and they will pull their hair out. Of course the downside is you would then need trebs for taking out buildings
Red won because blue was tricked into believing he was behind, red had 32 eco, blue two times that, he just needed to buy some time and make like 10 light cav, snipe the monks, snipe the siege and red was dead
Red had a major advantage with that spawn. Basically got 2|3 of the map Vs Blue with 1|3. (If water is not involved) I could see some low Elo as red trying to wall the land mass VS blue, and it could actually work.
Hey T90, a nice feature if possible would be to see if the players got their unique techs or not. since some are more hidden than others, but can be big game changers.
Well the term pro comes from professional and that definition means you need to make money as apposed to something being a hobby, like someone who paints models for fun is a hobbyist, some one who paints them to sell them is a professional, so yes you need to be earning money to at least be called semi-pro
in aoe2 at least i feel underdogs have the advantage, for example if t90 was 1v1 against viper he'd probably sit there casually ecoing while playing candy crush
Could Capture Age re-import the THUMP-THUMP sound for Tarkins? If capture age can identify units, could it then change the default sounds for us the views and yourself, even if it's not "correct" in game.
Frenkie either plays or watches starcraft brood wars/ starcraft 2. what he's doing with the tower is terran dropship+marines strategy or protoss shuttle+reaver. he basically destroyed a meta player with "this one simple thing". makes you wonder how much aoe2 scene is behind in skill level vs SC.
Blue made critical mistakes. Should have gone for an early castle to push red. Later on when red lost his castle and only went monks, he made new TCs that were getting trebbed down instead of investing into stables and light cav. Light cav or even skirms would have made it. Critical mistakes for high elo players.

Would love to see capture age make it so a group of selected units (all the same unit obviously) shows the unit stats, rather than stats only showing when a single unit is selected.

check out any game by Snow in SC:BW. what he does with shuttle and reaver is the exact same strategy, only they've been doing it for 20 years now.

Definitely something for teutons or monks to consider.
Honestly it makes no sense, both thematically and balance wise, as to why the siege tower outruns infantry.

The gbeto weapon is called KPINGA.
Not sure if it's still the case, but siege tower with Mongolian drills used to be the fastest unit in the game actually. Zoom zoom!

Dude never went for aggression either, even though there was just palisade walls. A raiding party of light cav wins this game for blue
