I can't seem to find the thatched roof png image you used in the video in the link you attached
I used this one www.textures.com/download/thatched-0018/8950 , it's no longer free but you can find here polyhaven.com/textures/roofing
mapping the textures in real time is not onlmy lazy, it loads the GPU for something that could be fixed with a descent UV mapping

hello, why do we use solid shapes? 3:45 for exemple
i used a plane and add solidify modifier, for me it's easier that way, if i cut, i only have to do it in one face, later i just apply solidify.

so what, your guide is strange, at 0:13 my square does not bend, but is simply distorted, into a vaguely resembling a triangle
I scaled the face on the X-axis, press S then X
whats the name of the texture? at 7:10
This human object for scale is somewere in Blender?
You can create a character with make human or daz and import.
