@Greaseland HELL YA PLEASE DO..I WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO TO THE GJUNKYARD AND TEST AN ENGINE BUT I DONT KNOW HOW THE WIRING IS RAN SO I COULD START IT FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
A battery. + cable to starter - cable to block.Wire from + battery to distributor.Touch big + lug on starter to small stud on starter to crank engine.Or search on You Tube
I'm trying to do this at home I bought a stand and put the flex plate on but the stand rubs the flex plate ? It's a th350 flex plate idk it. Could be the stand I bought was crap it just won't fit right
great idea, but the headers make it near impossible to tune while running. What did you accomplish with this setup? Just seeing if it runs well? That makes sense, but I wouldn't trust some chinese stand on wheels!
Dude that's awesome and simple.... Mounting the uprights to front and back of block is brilliance and universal
Just found this. Great Job! Shade tree hot roddin' at it's finest! Thank You!
Exactly the video i was looking for. Thanks, man!
I like this idea thanks for sharing 🙂
Love the headers!
you gave me a great idea, i will soon post a video of my test stand.

I think that was an optical illusion.Maybe it was flexing. When the converter is connected to it ,it stiffens the whole thing up
great video...No need to throw money away on an overpriced run-in stand
@dekeyser11 fuses would be a good idea, just in case... well other then the main starter cable of course
283 is a small block chevy.Same as the 350 in the video.
not all heros wear capes
that's at least $975 in your pocket...smart!
I plan on doing this.
I'm going to have to make a how to video.
did you create a how to build on this video yet
My stand is one just like what's in the video exzatly like it
The starter mounts to the block. Don't try this with a torque converter.
cool
Dirt modified headers I got at a swap meet to put on my hot rod that I never built.
if something goes wrong it's alot easyer to fix with the engine out of the car.
Bad Ass!
where and how many cubic inches?
what camshaft are you running ?
how did you start the engine?
Yea how did u mount the starter?
Small block Chevy the starter bolts into the block.....
45 at harbor freight
As asked by another person, how do you wire the engine to run stand alone?
A battery. + cable to starter - cable to block.Wire from + battery to distributor.Touch big + lug on starter to small stud on starter to crank engine.Or search on You Tube
Thanks.
Can you make one for me?

I think I used a 153 tooth flex plate.The other is 168 tooth which is bigger.if It's a chevy
Cheesey but does the job.

Your distributor is a tooth off.
