Wow!! So much more complex than the old 352/390 and 383/440 and Pontiac 400s I’ve worked on. Oh and my 59AB flathead. It needs a crankshaft because the keyway is damaged? You can’t replace the crankshaft key and the damaged gear? You’re amazing! I enjoy your videos, thanks.
I wouldn't trust a crank that had steel added to fix the keyway with all the torque and HP my car has. New is the only way to go. I have the new crank, billet gear, billet trigger wheel, and a billet crank pulley for the rebuild. I am ready to take the part to the machine shop to double-key everything. I appreciate you for watching, commenting, and enjoying my videos.
I got a little behind but the engine removal from the top is almost ready to post. Then I will put together the disassembly. That will be fun to share.

Incredible job Doc! You were right on the money. I admire your persistence. Looking forward to your next update.
The tear-down was eye-opening.
Wow, Doc! You nearly disassembled the whole front end, just for the front cover. Great work, working through it, though.
Thanks Mr. Arnold.
I hope your rebuild project is going well and that the internals of the engine outside the key on the crank are in good shape.

I find it easy taking things apart. It’s the putting it back together…
Stay tuned because I will be attempting that magical activity.
