    There's a theory that Jamie is a descendant of Jack's sister.

      True! The crazy part is I remember when it came out, the only thing I heard about it was a combo of "animated", "Santa Clause", and "Easter", so I thought it was going to be some cutesy cheesy movie made for a young-young audience, so I didn't want to go. But I was out-voted so we went and saw it in theaters, and I have *_never_* been so happy to have been so wrong!! Absolutely up there with the favorites 💕

    • @mak_inthebox4817
      @mak_inthebox4817 9 месяцев назад +3

      I think it was released right around Easter time, and was in theaters at the same time as like, Hop or something else that came out, so it felt like it was pitched as a "holiday" type movie, and I feel like it would have done better at a different time in the year and pitched more like a year-round superhero movie instead.

    If im not mistaken Sandman is actually the strongest guardian out of them all which is why pitch wanted to take him out first more importantly he's like the source of kids having dreams without Sandman its just straight nightmares thats what jack meant when he said " Pitch tipped the balanced " and another thing this version cant really die he'll just reincarnate into another being or just respawn.

    • @mak_inthebox4817
      @mak_inthebox4817 9 месяцев назад +4

      That's fair, considering he would be visiting the kids every night instead of once a year. Definitely has the most day-to-day influence.
      Besides that, he's definitely the strongest opponent specifically to Pitch, since they seem to be direct opposites of each other. I like the way this is reflected in the character design of both Pitch and his nightmares-- all dark and scary, except the glowing yellow eyes. ✨👀✨

    • @samuelvincent557
      @samuelvincent557 9 месяцев назад +6

      I agree. Of all the Guardians, I would think that good dreams would be the last thing kids would stop believing in. And there is a lot of power in imagination. Pitch's nightmares weren't really HIS power. It was stolen from Sandy. That's why he was able to take them back so easily when he touched them, and why they turned on Pitch at the end. So Pitch ahd to take him out first.
      As an aside, I love, at the end, when Tooth flips Pitch a quarter then punches out one of his teeth. That was her power working in reverse. Normally you leave her a tooth and she gives a quarter. Well, when she tossed him a quarter, and he caught and kept it, it entitled her to one of his teeth. That's why she was able to damage someone who is, effectively, immortal.

      The Real Sandman or Morpheus or The Oneromancer on the other hand is literally a primordial cosmic force, he is the King and of Dreams & Nightmares and a member of the Endless along with his other siblings Death, Destruction, Desire, Destiny, Despair, Delirium, and Sandman is known as Dream.

    Pitch use to be a hero of the Golden age, his true name was Kozmotis Pitchiner. he led the golden armies against the fearlings (they are like shadow-like creatures), Nightmare men (humanoid figures), and Nightmares (the sinister Horses made of blacksand). at that time the House of Lunanoffs (During the Golden Age the universe was ruled by the Constellations led by great, benevolent families who governed with imagination, fairness and flair. Of all these regal families, the House of Lunanoff was the most beloved) vowed to to rid the universe of their evil. So they along with other families "build a prison out of lead in the farthermost regions of space". Kozmotis led the Golden Armies in capturing them, then volunteered to keep watch over them. As time passed, Kozmotis started to miss his daughter (Mother Nature) and the Fearlings took the opportunity to trick Kozmotis by mimic his daughter's voice. Kozmotis, believing that his daughter was trap, opened the gates letting the Fearlings escaped and simultaneously get possessed by them, turning Kozmotis Pitchiner into Pitch Black, the Nightmare King.

      @ Do you want me to write a backstory for the guardians? If you want, just a warning for you. Is dark, not very dark. Just dark story not enough to traumatize for young teens, but enough for kids. Like I said is up to you if you want to know about it, reply to me if you are up for it.

    The reason Rudolph doesn’t appear in many of these animated Christmas movies is because he is still under copyright and not in the public domain. He was created in 1935, and the copyright hasn’t expired yet.

    So it makes sense why the Easter Bunny was so scared to ride the sleigh. Out of all the Guardians, only he and Santa can't fly, or ride the wind. So he would, naturally, have a fear of falling.

    Speaking of underrated animated movies, i know that you two would absolutely love the Legend of the Guardians: the owls of Ga'hoole too.
    At the time when it came out my mind was blown! I have never seen an animated movie with that level of realism other than Avatar less than a year ago and that was something! But while Avatar had all like big production and media spotlight because of Cameron, Ga'hoole didn't get any of that and it got kind of forgotten.
    One of main reasons why i love it other than the animation itself is topics it is dealing with. The radicalisation and the indocrination of youth, the fight of the freedom vs cruelty, the gasslighting, basically a nazi war... Those aren't things you commonly see in media aimed for kids, yet they presented them in an easily understandable way. One of my favourite movies of all times.
    Damn, thinking about it, mid 2000s to mid 2010s were really great with animated movies. We got this, Avatar (i count it as animated here because of the amound of cgi), Kung fu panda, HTTYD, Brave, Tangled, Despicable me... all amazing stories i absolutely love

    THREE hundred.
    Jack’s been around for _THREE_ hundred years.
    (not five)
    And yes, okay, so Jack hesitated before taking action to restoreJamie’s wavering faith. It probably took him a moment or two to come up with an idea; and don’t forget, he had spent _centuries_ trying to get anyone to notice his existence! He has to have been questioning if he could even do something that Jamie would actually see.

    Seven months late, but here’s why the movies were canceled.
    In 2012 when ROTG was released, it competed against James Bond, Wreck-It Ralph, and a new Twilight movie. It was poorly timed in its release, and so it wasn’t able to make money back. Hell, it lost 87 MILLION DOLLARS and made Dreamworks lay off 350 people. Studio mismanagement caused the franchise to be canceled, and it hasn’t been touched by Dreamworks since.
    Such a shame, too… I’m positive if they just released it a month earlier or later it would have been a childhood classic, but alas. We’ll just keep hounding them for a sequel.
