The TMNT sequel was in preproduction at Imagi. They had a poster that hinted at Shredder's return and all the turtles except Michelangelo appear de-mutated back into turtles. The movie was never made because Imagi closed its doors shortly after Astroboy bombed at the box office. Also a fun side fact, the director of the TMNT movie also directed a video game called Freaky Flyers.
Really? Got a photo?
From what I know it’s not demutation. Mikey’s mask wasn’t there because the plot was supposed to b he felt no one took him seriously and ran off to become a foot soldier
This… THIS WAS THE GAME, what a blast from the past!
God I loved playing this game when I was younger. This was most likely the reason for my love of TMNT.
@@mr_indie_fan thank lol
That CGI movie was pretty fuckin cool imo. RIP Imagi Studios
21:02 Don't worry Matt, I'm with you on that. Because Green Goblin does it ONCE in the movie and he never does it again, all his bombs afterwards were normal explosives and doesn't disintegrate you into a skeleton.
It was like Raimi wanting to cash out his one "quick but brutal murder scene" card.
I also think about this scene and burst out laughing every time.
God this brings back memories.
I got stuck on the Donatello section of this game because my joysticks were trailing at that time and I had to hear Splinter continously say "Use your Bo-Staff". That me and my older sister repeated it all day and still say it whenever I mess up during a tutorial.
Man, I remember playing this game SO much back in the day
I LOVED THIS GAME GROWING UP, and i loved the 2007 film even more!, Such an underrated movie man.
Everyone else here in the comments, fondly remembering playing this game growing up.
And I’m just here, seeing this game for the first time. And then Matt makes the joke about the superhero and the pig. And I am instantly reminded of the time my family, aunt, uncles, grandma, and cousins were sitting at the dinner table, and my cousin, too young to know what this actually meant, starts telling us how he heard that the Amish “fisted their pigs to death because it makes the meat more tender.”
Nobody said anything for a moment, but I could not stop myself from doing that snort thing when you can’t hold back a laugh, and then all the adults except grandma ERUPTED with laughter.
Are you from Pa by any chance?
@@enddhabzen9278 Nah, Wisconsin. Cousin’s from Indiana. Got a fair amount of Amish and Mennonites in the farmlands, not that I think whoever told him that was in any way in the know. I think what he meant was something similar to Kosher or Halal restrictions on how livestock are butchered, though ironically in a kinda backwards way. Looking it up just now, apparently it’s a somewhat widely spread myth that they beat them to death.
@@TomatoAbe damn bro ya blew my joke to shit lol im from pa alot of amish n mennonites but damn bro lol
You guys need to play the GBA version. One of the greatest Beat em Ups ever
Man people forget the other TMNT game that was supposedly based off the first updated live action movie but it's actually its own game and a little more violent
You _do_ know that the '90s cartoon evil, unique Krang was the retcon, right? Because the comics had the TCRI aliens (that'd be the brain guys, chest mounted in power armor) as pacifists who befriended the turtles as soon as they got the chance to talk to them. Half the point was that the squicky looking scientist-aliens secretly on Earth _weren't_ plotting world domination.
I'm not saying Krang wasn't a fun villain, but he was by no means the OG version of those aliens.
“It’s fine. It works”-Consensus by Matt McMuscles
This game is hype as fuck if you watched the movie, otherwise you’d probably be too confused
I grew up with the PS2 version. Great game.
This was the only TMNT game I had growing up. Played through it like 8 times. I still don't know if I actually liked it or not.
I so wish we got a sequel to the film. This was my childhood and that one smash bros inspired tmnt game along with the 2003 cartoon.
I don't know why, but I would love to see a "Wha Happun" with the 90's TMNT trilogy. Also TMNT 2012 is the best version. Hands down.
I agree with the 2012 version being the best. While Rise of the TMNT was hated at first I'm glad it's gotten more recognition and played with the TMNT concept more than any other iteration.
2003 was the closest to the original comics, which I prefer over the original cartoon
Statements like this make it very easy to spot young teens lol
@@drekiskrek5008 yup
That's not Radical Rescue. That's actually the Turtles game everyone forgets.
I don't know if it's an editor decision or matts direction to put the box art in for all the random games he mentions, but I appreciate it immensely.
The thing I really liked about this game was that it it fleshed out the movie a bit more
This game brings back so many memories. I actually had the dvd until somehow, someway, we’ve lost since I was a kid. Then last night I see it’s on Netflix so that felt like a kick to the balls.
I don’t get it. You miss a dvd from your childhood, discover the movie is on Netflix and it’s ‘ a kick to the balls’. What?
@@fullarmourtracksuit4023 I lost the dvd. I recently bought Netflix, saw that this movie was on there, and rewatched it for memory sake. It’s a very strange coincidence
@@TheNileNator Fair enough. But ‘kick in the balls’ has negative connotations. The fact you get to watch the movie again is a good thing right? That’s why I said it didn’t make sense.
@@fullarmourtracksuit4023 You know why it kinda does? Because its not on Netflix now..It may be some random ass time later. One of the perks of owning a copy of the Movie.Or it may be something other than that..Only he, the dvd and God know the truth..
This has to be the best movie game I've ever seen/played. My childhood. And you can tell alot of love has been put into it.
I think in the later missions you could play as all 4 turtles at the same time by changing to any one of them Instantly.
The cool part was any one of them had some special combined moves that had different Functions.
You can play all of them by the half of the game
Remember playing this one day it came out and talking about it with the fellas at recess. Good days
Weird fact, canonically Michaelangelo is the most skilled of the turtles by far, he was a prodigy able to grasp even the most difficult moves and concepts with ease but he is so focused on having fun he never really trained at all. That is why he is the last turtle left alive in The Last Ronin.
Aaaand thanks for the unprompted Last Ronin spoiler I guess.
@@cryptusmaximus8699 I am sorry but the book has been out for more than half a year so I think most people would give me a pass.
What? Nah that shit ain't cool man lmao. It literally doesnt cost you anything to start with *Last Ronin Spoilers Ahead* or to even just not say it at all since it wasnt needed to illustrate your point. I was planning on reading it because I had just heard about it very recently over the past few weeks, but now I don't see the point.
No pass for you!
Agreed its been out a while but also some people wait for trades. But it was heavily implied to be mikey with the orange thought boxes in the old previews
Still wanting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (the 2013 game) be out again...
and be improve, like way improved with the combat play.
Krang isn't the name of the race its the Utrom and Krang I don't think was one originally but as the shows began using more form the OG comic they decided to tie them together.
I think making Shredder a Utrom in 2003 was pretty cool tied him to the Turtles more and Gave a reason why he just wouldn't die after having his head cut off or being caught in a explosion.
Plus his Cyber form is the coolest Shredder design no one can convince me other wise
I'm sorry, did you just say that CGI TMNT is going to be TEN YEARS OLD THIS YEAR?!
I have fond childhood memories of this game
I played the crap out of the DS version of this game and in that I think you can use the chain for nightwatcher in that version. I also love the 4 kids version of the TMNT game by Konami
Man, this one brings me back. I had the version on PS2 and on Gameboy Advance, and I played the shit out of them despite being terrible at them.
I feel so nostalgic.
Man this takes me back. I played this a lot when my family got it.
Shredders Revenge cant come soon enough!
Seriously. Most people are waiting for stuff like Elden Ring, I'm just over here waiting to kick some foot clan a$$
That’s ashame, cause it’s honestly pretty good.
I mean, you probably didn't know that Platinum Games Produced a TMNT game. You can't get it any more, but they made one.
The GBA version of this game goes incredibly hard
This game looked so much cooler, when I was watching RUclips walkthroughs in 480p back in 07 lol. Nice nostalgia tho.
2007 Was the year of TMNT Great Games (Gameboy Advance,Ps2 , Xbox360)and a Great movie 🎥 🍿
This is legit one of the first games I ever played. I bought a used PS2 last year pretty much just to play it again. So much nostalgia
This game was my childhood 😅 you should keep playing it
I loved this game. I remember I would always rent the game from blockbuster for my X-Box 360 when I was 5. I never was able to beat it as I kept dying at the second time you fight the hammer guy. Still it was so much fun
Man this movie AND game was my childhood back in the day!
I'm guessing this was after Mako died because that does not sound like him at all
aye flash from the past played this one all the time on the gamecube this game was dope
Now this is a great one! I played the hell out of this game when it came out. The movie is still one of my faves as well. :)
This was the only TMNT game I had so can't forget this
I would like to thank for reminding me about this game I grew up but forgot about.
I remember getting this Game as a Kid. Later when your fighting the foot you get those sick Team moves, it was awseome.
Ah, 2000's Ubisoft, when they would release games like Drakengard 2, Jade Cocoon 2, Armored Core for Answer, and best of all, Enchanted Arms. Those were good times.
Wait they published drakengard 2 and enchanted arms?
@@anigamerreviews3136 they certainly did. Square-Enix passed on Drakengard 2 in the west, and there was a brief time where Ubisoft published Fromsoftware games.
@@DarkMProductions why did Square pass on it? Did the first not make enough?
@@anigamerreviews3136 I think it was the critical reception the first game got that turned them away. Because the sales were pretty strong for the time.
I used to play this game so happy to see cover it
This game blurs together with that co-op watchmen game so much in my head
@@steelbear2063 I think it’s called Watchmen: The End is Nigh, I remember it being on the Xbox 360
@@steelbear2063 Watchmen: The End is Nigh on PS3
As much as I loved the 2003 cartoon games growing up, the ps2 version of this game was easily the one I played the most.
Dude same, something about this one felt better. Only thing missing was some co-op action.
Man, I played the DS version so much when it came out, many memories haha
It's a shame that you didn't get to see one last mechanic they introduce that's actually pretty cool, but it's understandable since takes a while to get there. You were wondering about if the turtle had special moves, and I'll go ahead and say that they do, but that's only in future levels where the turtles meet up and work together; they're the best levels in the game from what I remember since you can both do those special moves and switch between characters. Also, the stars are pretty much like you were suspecting, you're just able to one-shot enemies once you have enough, and the only one who can do the rage ability is Nightwatcher.
Childhood memories right here thanks for that trip to the past Matt ,I still remember getting a free copy because I bought the TMNT van toy it was a weird thing to bundle with the toy ngl
OMG DUDE I PLAYED A LOT OF THIS WHEN I WAS A LITTLE TMNT FAN LMAO, THIS AND THE GBA VERSION WAS SO COOOL
Can we stop calling them the Michael Bay movies? God's sake, he was a producer. The director was Jonathan Liebesmon in the first one, can't remember who replaced him in the sequel. If we're gonna call those TMNT films Michael Bay's, then the TF movies would have been Steven Spielberg's.
This is undoubtedly the best TMNT Game to exist, no exceptions
Oof
@@MattMcMuscles nice video tho btw, the commentary was funny asf😂😂😂
Easiest 1k achievement points on XBox One. Everyone I knew played this for that reason.
Aight. For everyone in the comments. Have some more nostalgia whiplash. 2003 TMNT game by Konami.
The 2007 movie I think is pretty underrated. It isn't spectacular by any stretch but it did an effective job as a sort of soft reboot/sequel to the original movies. And they were obviously hinting at something interesting to come later which unfortunately never happened.
I remember getting this game back in 2007, and then I was grounded by my dad the day after. I wasn't allowed to play it for over a week, and I was so fucking sad!
Loved all of ubisoft's tmnt games, even the turtles in time remake.
oof
This movie wasn't that bad. Brought in some interesting stuff, like the Nightwatcher, but it felt underdeveloped, like the creators had a few ideas but didn't know which they wanted to do. For example, KARAI EXISTS, and she had never been introduced in the 90s movies. That could have been something.
Yep! I always hated that Karai never had any part to play in the story whatsoever.
I'm surprised you didn't beat it since it's only like 5 hours long if i remember correctly.
I didn’t forget this game.
I own this game on Xbox 360.
Well I mean it stands to reason that Raphael found a copy of Stanley Kubrick's Shining or found it on TV
I played this game yesterday
My friend and I used to race through this game side by side. No idea why it started but I suppose we were kind of speedrunning in 4th grade lol
I actually liked The Second Ninja Turtles movie produced by Michael Bay. It felt like the director and writers were trying to fix the issues of the first film, and Sheamus was pretty good as Rocksteady.
My favorite levels are the jungle level and the nightwatcher level. The nightwatcher music is the best music in the game.
22:00 I have never been to Ney York City, but I can confirm that that is indeed accurate.
I think TMNT OOTS is the game everyone forgets
A childhood game that deserves more attention.
I played this game ALOT on my ps2 back in the day.
If they re not doing the arcade style. Then i think a free flowing but slightly heavier version of Prince of Persia Warrior Within. More impact and collision with enemies, but make it smooth. Its funny how it s a Ubisoft Game around the time of that Era of PoP ..
Next time ill wait til the video is done before commenting..It actually was using a unrefined Prince of Persia engine...What a shit bland ass game. Still probably better than Battle Nexus.
This wasn't my *favorite* childhood game, but I played the shit outta the PS2 version as a kid
I am forever haunted with the call of PS2 Turtle games past… EAT FEET EAT FEET EAT FEET SLICE N DICE SLICE N DICE SLICE N DICE
Still really hoping for a Wha Happun? on Rise of the TMNT one day (also it makes me sad that you don't like Rise!Splints. I absolutely love him and thought he had a great character arc and cool backstory while I thought 12!Splinter was just kind of an asshole, especially in the later seasons)
You know what's weird? The console version of this Game uses comic panels for story, while the PSP uses actual scenes from the movie.
I still have the licensed CD for PC with this game, loved playing as Raph)
I wish Nightwatcher was Canon
I used to love this game, and the movie
I've had this game on the PS2 since the movie was released.
You guys rememeber TMNT out of the shadows? I had a lot of fun with it!
I actually did enjoy this game quite a bit. I remember seeing it in Mexico the first time and being like WOAH! this is kinda fun and cool. Then after a few months eventually got it and still have it.
Used to play this a ton on the Wii.
I'm pretty sure the toxic waste on top of the buildings is in New Jersey
I remember being legitimately upset about not being able to see this in theaters because it was sold out
Played this at a friends once but my main game was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) on PS2, that soundtrack still sticks with me
This and Wii Sports were my first Wii games
This was one of the better Ubisoft TMNT license games. It lacks multiplayer but parkour Prince of Persia style gameplay was very fun. The GBA game was probably the only one they published that holds up better. Their track record was rough. I did like Smash Up but it gets boring quickly. Re-Shelled and Arcade Attack were also dull. The DS TMNT 2007 game was janky and not very fun at all. Activision didn’t do any better and all the 3D 2003 based games were a chore to play. This was hardly the most forgotten TMNT game though.
Do you happen to have a video on the platinum TMNT game? :D
Dude, with your love for Mortal Kombat AND TMNT, how come there hasn't been a collab with Phelous up to now??
I played this game for the first time in 2014, it was alright...plus, it was the week after I met the 2012 cast at NYCC 14.
Played the DS version - wish I could feel the serotonin of that experience again
The 2007 movie for me is my favorite tmnt movie
Man i remember this game. I had this along with the first 2003 game on the gamecube(Fun Fact the 2007 movie game was one of the last gamecube games ever released, since 2007 was when the gamecube was discontinued i believe). I really did enjoy this game though, like it's definitely not the best turtles game, but it's a decent prince of Persia clone and i do wanna try out the GBA Version at some point. Also the other ubisoft turtles game i played was smash up on the wii, which was pretty decent, although it was weird that it was the 2007 designs yet used the 2003 voices?? that was strange and the rabbids were their too?? it was a really strange fighting game. But yeah, funny video as always matt!! :D
Raphael should get angry and chew guys WHAT off😂 but yeah 2012 Splinter was the best
Note to self: Throw open the idea for Matt to do a "Wha Happun" of TMNT (2007) and Imagi as a whole.
