Personally when it comes to the Schumacher films, I always felt uncomfortable how much he was thrown under the bus for it's failures, when he could be a fantastic director (he gave us The Lost Boys and St. Elmo's fire for crying out loud). Maybe he played a part in the misfires, but how easy is it to tell when his selection as Burtons replacement from the word go was explicitly for the goal of a movie franchise easier to sell toys for. I honestly think the movie as a whole would be able to be appreciated more (flaws and all) if it had been allowed to be it's own standalone story, and not a direct sequel to the (while campy in their own way) much more dramatic centered Burton films.
It be nice if the next Batman arkham games are loosely base on the older films, like the 89 and up films. I know if be a nightmare to license everything, but that's why I said loosely base on. Like if they hire the 90's and early 2000's animated voice cast, or the voice cast from the other video games. If they can license and get or almost get everything and everyone, that would be nice. But the music and tone settings, and the time period would be main focus for the game, basically capture the films looks and tone but plays like a Batman arkham game.
You hit the streets on a Bat vehicle of choice (vehicular combat anyone?), all three characters you play have differences in their moves (that I can remember) and you could explore/fight your way through an asylum many years before Arkham Asylum?!! Chief, what's not to like?!! Then you actually go into this and realize no matter what caliber of developer had made this game it had to run on PS1 (nothing against PS1). God bless the people at Probe for taking my Batman game wish list and even coming this far. Bat Nipples got bitten and Bat Butts got chapped here. STILL, Mr Freeze doing cartwheels on top of a building as part of his boss battle does not flunk the "who ya gonna trust" Batman movie game test in my book. Great choice MM. In twisted Batman brain the only thing that screws this game is the camera. Edit: Find the manual online because you need to use the block to stop the snow bros attacks and use special moves you unlock.
Rerez did an excellent vid on this as part of their Just Bad Games series. It had all the makings of a critically acclaimed game-including revolutionary design choices for the time-but it instead-at best-fell as flat as its polygons are now. I did a search and didn't see Aquaman on there; any chance you'd be interested in doing that? Only thing I've seen from that game is footage from X-Play in the early 00's
I think you need to "chill out" sir lol.

It be nice if the next Batman arkham games
are loosely base on the older films,
like the 89 and up films.
I know if be a nightmare to license everything,
but that's why I said loosely base on.
Like if they hire the 90's and early 2000's animated voice cast,
or the voice cast from the other video games.
If they can license and get or almost get everything
and everyone, that would be nice.
But the music and tone settings, and the time period would be
main focus for the game,
basically capture the films looks and tone
but plays like a Batman arkham game.
Doesn’t really help that its movie is regarded as one of the worst films ever made-but hey, Bat-Nips! That makes things better, right?
…right?
Please consider playing the SNES Batman Returns game by Konami. I love your content Matt!
I second this.
Hey Matt, have you considered buying/trying out that 2006 Justice League Heroes game? Sure, it may not be as good as X-Men Legends, but it might make an entertaining video.
Imagine if the Arkham games played like this.
It looks good for a PS1 game.
Imo B&R for OPS is AWESOME!
