Went to Dublin last weekend. Man I swear, the best hidden gem there were the people. I'm still stupified at how those people can be so awesome to someone they've never met. English isn't even my native language, and I felt more at home talking to the Irish than to anyone back in my town. Missing it like hell already
Jameson whiskey Distillery would be a more traditional tour rather than Teelings. Across from St stephens green is St Stephens green shopping center, the building is beautiful inside. Then walk down Grafton street to see street entertainers. Another good thing to do would be to go on the dart in the opposite direction to Howth, it’s brings you to Bray which is a fabulous seaside town. There’s a great coastal view along the way too. Thank you for making a positive video on Dublin 🇮🇪☘️

Very informative video. I am planning a trip to Dublin and I've watched many videos about what to do there. I think this video is one of the most sober ones, with very good, insightful tips. Thank you!
My daughter and I will be moving to Ireland...we are looking for a suitable place. Thanks for the video, love the positive vibes with this beautiful country. We are already looking forward to the change of new life and friends ❤️🤗
A nicely laid-out introduction to my city :) thank you and just to mention Dublin's beautiful coastal villages of Dalkey, Malahide, Killiney, and Bray which stand on the outskirts of Dublin and Wicklow borders. Enjoy your travels :)
Europe is great, I've been to Dublin and practically every weekend I've spent in pubs and the city center, whole nights and days - in that respect it was great. Rotterdam also - but I look very Scandinavian, maybe Dutch I know English perfectly and the only problem there was that I had a million times better than the average manual worker from Polish, and even more so from non-European countries. So some people may have felt jealous and had something to do.
You two make very detailed and helpful videos. We are thinking of heading to Dublin from Seattle next month and then jump to Albania, Croatia etc and follow your videos there. Thank you so much😊 PS, suggestions for budget accommodations in Dublin for a family of 3?
Thanks for watching! It's a great little stopover... and budget accommodation seems tricky in Dublin! We stayed in The Hendrick Smithfield, which was a great hotel (you can see the link in the description).
I'll be there in less then a week, this video is right up my street, thank you for the clarity of your voice. I have heard disparate opinion about Dublin but I'm quite sure that I'll love it.
Great video! It definitely inspires my up coming visit. I know it is hard to include price points (because exchange rates change often), but what kind of budget would I expect to save up in euros for a trip like yours? Happy Travels! :)
Thanks! Dublin is definitely not a budget destination. I'd say you'll need about 150-200 US$ per day per couple (including accommodation, food, and activities). Accommodation is probably the priciest, unless you sleep in a shared dorm
Funny thing about this is I was in the exact same spot as you guys in the intro around the same time of the month, and when I turned around towards the road, there was a grown man taking a shit right there in front of me. I saw EVERYTHING 😂😢
Yes you can purchase the ticket like 10 minutes before boarding! The station you'll get on depends on where you come from. Google maps will tell you the easiest way! We took the DART from Tara Street
Am planning to go on my week vacation..looking for hotels and the prices are outrageous...anyone have tips for something less than 200 dollars a night?
It’s definitely not a cheap city… you can stay in a hostel, they’re usually cheaper. We added some hotel in the description that are reasonably priced… but nothing is cheap really 😅
@@worldwildhearts being someone who is allergic to perfumes, soaps, etc hostels are no longer an option. Especially they are mixed dorms...that is insane - drunk guys falling into bed(s) nah not an option
As a capital city, Dublin City centre is a disgrace. Just off O’Connell Street a huge amount of derelict buildings, very few quality shops, loads of coffee shops and diners. During the day homeless people living in tents (Lord Edward Street) Capel Street and Abbey Street just decrepit. Dublin City centre is broken, and at night, a no go area.
"Irelands primary city for most of the Islands history" ??? Dublin is 1000 years old, the Irish civilisation is more than 5000 years old and the "Island is millions of years old. People are listening to you and expecting you to have done some research before posting.
I think you're taking what we said totally out of context? Of course Irish history goes back further than that. We're not claiming that. Just speaking of Dublin as a city. People who inhabited the island during Bronze and Iron Ages didn't build such "cities". If you look back at the history, you'll find that Waterford City claims to be the OLDEST CITY in Ireland, and it was founded in 914 AD by Vikings from Norway. That's not so long before Dublin was founded
I went to Dublin a few years ago and enjoyed the atmosphere. Now the street scene has changed as if it were in the Middle East. Why the hell is it like this?
Dublin City is decrepit. I’m Irish and love street photography. There is so much dereliction in the city, beggars everywhere, gypsies everywhere and police everywhere. Avoid.
We didn’t have any safety issues as tourists. Neither did any other tourist we talked to say anything about danger. But it’s a big, capital city, so you should always be careful (like any other big city in the world)
That’s a bit harsh. No different to any other city worldwide. I’m actually from Dublin, worked in the city for 40 years and have travelled extensively. It has had its issues recently but your comment is ridiculous. It’s a question of being aware and safe late at night. I don’t buy your comment at all, rubbish .
I was just about to say… we are from Seattle and Brussels, Dublin felt a lot safer to us 😅 less homelessness in the touristic part of the city at least
@@worldwildhearts When were you last over here? Because over the last 5-10 years it's got really bad (it's mostly down to poverty - Austerity from the corrupt and inept government). Of course, it depends on where you go too. Just recently though, the American Embassy issued a warning to American citizens telling them to be very careful in Dublin City. We've had a series of tourists being attacked in broad daylight.
We were just there last month. Also visited a few years back (maybe 7 years ago). @@robnecronomicon1570 Never felt unsafe in the streets. @@worldwildhearts I can't speak for American Cities, although, I am aware of some very bad ones. We don't really have visible tent cities. The real problem with Dublin is poverty which breeds crime and drugs. There are some major tourist streets that you are literally taking a high-risk walking down (especially at night). Although, some assaults have taken place during the day and because they are tourists it's making the Irish government very uncomfortable as it sheds a true light on how shitty things are here. I left Dublin and moved to rural Ireland and I have no regrets. :)
