Western Europe is dangerous as well. This rankings is prepared by westerners. I can ensure you that quality of life in Czech Republic or Poland is much higher than in Netherlands or Germany, so such a rankings are simply not credible, since they completely dont know central Europe. For example they are saying that some Europeans countries are tech hub, which in many cases is not true, but they didn't mentioned that for example Warsaw or Wrocław are a hudge tech hubs with hundreds of thousands software developer much better paid and better as a developera as well (polish developers are in world top 3 in most rankings). So don't Believe this, western Europe is declining, mainly because they allow unlimited migration from thrid world countries, which is not happening in Poland or Czechia. And believe me I have visited many western European cities, most of people from western Europe never seen any central European city.

Oh no doubt, if you live outside of Lisboa it way cheaper. If you subtract the cost of rental property and just look at the rest of the costs, Portugal is very reasonable. The government is doing what it can to mitigate the high costs of renting, because a lot of the locals are being forced out of their homes because of investors buying up properties and raising the rents, Air B&B is also another issue. I have a good owner who isn’t gouging me and I am in the process of buying a apartment, but I can tell you that housing is not as affordable as it was 4-5 years ago. Hey Mike,
I appreciate your input, but I’d like to clarify a few things. While I acknowledge the EIU rankings, they don't specifically cater to expats. My ranking is based on personal experiences and preferences. A different perspective doesn’t invalidate a review; it simply offers another viewpoint.
Vienna may be highly rated, but I wouldn't recommend it as a place to live for several reasons: a challenging housing market, long, cold winters, reserved locals making it tough for expats to integrate, occasional unfriendliness in service industries, and a somewhat old-fashioned vibe.
How long have you lived in Vienna? Have you had personal experiences there, or are you relying solely on the EIU report?

I've already lived in Denmark, Germany, and Poland for a number of years, so I mostly already know the drill of living in Europe, and language is not a big problem for me as I'm a language enthusiast and polyglot. As for "mistakes" that other people have mentioned, they're inevitable, but I didn't think there were all that many in your video. You probably noticed yourself that you had footage from Ukraine when talking about Sofia, Bulgaria (as evidenced by the Ukrainian flag!). Also, I found your pronunciation of "Florence" a little odd, as though you might have never had an Auntie Florence or heard of old-time actress Florence Henderson! And don't tell Polish people that Poland is "Eastern" Europe! That's Russia, and the Poles are not all too fond of the Russians! And for a city that was "left off", how about Istanbul? Our absolute favorite city so far, and on our short list of European cities to live in! 🙂 (And btw, the way you said Krakow is perfectly fine in English, but natively it's just a little different! 🙂)
