    a photo of Kyiv when showing Sofia, lol 😅 would you like to recommend living in a city under russ***ian rocket attacks? and another question: where did you take the average spend amount from? 1000€ in warsaw per month? only if you rent a room in a shared apartment, going out twice a month and don’t do any hobbies which should be paid for. also, did you compare it to the salaries? i agree that warsaw is a great city to live in, but that money part in the video is scam. make sure not to consider the costs as significant. 😅

    The number 800 is thrown out, but where is it from? The definition of city is not clear, but Germany alone has more than 700 cities with over 20.000 people, so this number could be different. The video does, however, not mention any city with less than 50.000 people, so if that's your definition of city then, again, Germany alone has almost 200. Spain has over 150, Italy 140, Poland more than 80, the Netherlands almost 90, Romania more than 40... then add every other city of the same size in the UK, France and more than 30 other countries and we must get a higher number, surely?

    • @geoinsider
      @geoinsider День назад

      @@youoptigan The data comes from the European Commission website, which uses a standardized methodology for comparing cities across Europe. Also each country has its own definition of a city. For example, Germany often considers cities to be those with over 100,000 citizens, which brings the number down to around 80, not 200. Since definitions can vary so much, I'm curious-where does your data come from?

    • @youoptigan
      @youoptigan День назад

      @@geoinsider Ah, ok! Yes, there are many definitions of what constitutes a city. In Germany, for instance, you're not correct. Cities with more than 100.000 people, as you mention, are called 'Großstädte' (literally big cities, pl.). Cities with 20.000 to 50.000 are still called cities, but they are 'Mittelstädte' (middle cities/medium cities, pl.). Cities/towns smaller than this can still be a 'Stadt' (Kleinstädte), as long as it has what is called 'Stadtrecht, city rights. There are more than 2000 places with 'Stadtrecht' in Germany. In the case of Poland, it's a matter of urban municipalities versus rural. Urban municipalities can be quite small, and there are towns with more than 50.000 people. In the case of Italy I used the number of municipalities, as Italian communi usually only contains one city/town (and in some cases its immediate suburbs). I used the number of municipalities in the case of Spain, too, but I must admit that it is more questionable there as some municipalidades are quite large with several settlements. I guess my point was that I thought 800 sounded like a small number, but as you pointed out yourself and I'm writing about above, it's hard to get a correct number depending on definitions. You point to the European Commission, and rightly they use the number 800, but they also have a cut-off at 50.000 people. So I'm correct in that there are a lot more cities in Europe, but as long as you only refer to underrated cities with more than 50.000 people you're also correct in that there are 800 +. Either way, this is a good list of beautiful places to visit in Europe. There could easily be twice as many on it. :D
