Huge advice for anyone watching this: Do NOT, EVER, hire family/close friends for ANYTHING official. A working relationship is not easy to balance with a personal relationship. It’s definitely possible, but it requires a type of compartmentalization of your feelings. It can damage your personal relationship, or vice versa. Both relationships thriving is very rare. Learn from this wise woman, she has some great insight on life!

You're a good person. I initially want to ignore this video and just think "I don't care about your life", although I watched quite a few of your videos. But this is actually a good example for a lot of people. One of my parent has a part-time job, take freelance work and sell stuff online. But my another parent has full time work. But still need to help a lot, delivering things that's sold, help picking up new products. People coming over to our home and trying out products. I think it's wrong and business should be separate from other family member. If it works only work with your family helping, it's not working.
This is such a smart move. One thing I had to learn as my online success grew was that after a bit you do need to release the people who helped you grow, often for nothing but their desire to see you succeed, and hire real professionals to do their job. Once you get to a certain level, it is far too much to ask someone to continue doing when it's not their job. Sometimes they want to continue doing it and you hire them (which is how I got one job I really enjoy), but most of the time it's just about setting them free and giving them a big thanks for all their help!
You are a great example of how to have a successful career where you talk about your home life, but still respect your partners boundary and privacy. It's really lovely to see. I always enjoy your videos

Yeah, not being work partners can really relax a relationship. Especially when you were indepents (selbstständig). My parents had an independent company together and it constantly put strain on their relationship. They now work as employees at two different places and their relationship has gotten so much happier! Because now they don't both feel the pressure of keeping a company running.

Very good idea! My son is a blonde, 6’3 Nordic guy who married a 100% Chinese woman raised in America. They brought two little egg rolls into the world, now ages 1 and 3, my 10th and 11th grandchildren respectively. You remind me so much of her and it makes me laugh so much. One word of advice from an old Oma: when die kinder start arriving, be careful of parental interference from both sides. As a wife of a businessman I couldn't agree with you more on this. I used to help my hubby in administrative and accounts work.. and I realized that, our only conversations revolved around his work and his business even on weekends. We decided to hire staffs to manage these things. Our conversations covers more interesting topics now that I'm no longer doing these job for him. I did the same thing in my business... partners are awesome for helping (even when compensated) but we all have our own dreams, pastimes, passions etc. and nice when each person in the relationship feels fulfilled and happy like clams ❤
I’ve spent years in academia, studying relationships- based off of the data I think this is a very wise move. If he wants to be involved as a hobby, great- but focus on doing maintenance tasks like doing the dishes- most days you guys can split that up like he cooks you clean or vice versa- but a few times a week you guys could do the cleaning and the cooking together (as an example). I’m also an Expat abroad in a mixed relationship- and I love the content. Keep it growing!

I grew up in Palo Alto, California in a neighborhood that was a mix of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese, it was so fantastic because we all learned each others "slang" and could tease each other in 4 or 7 languages! The best friends I ever had. I miss them so much. When i moved to Texas i moved into a old neighborhood that was all Mexican and Spanish. My mom was half native American Indian and my dad was French Canadian! I did the same thing in my business... partners are awesome for helping (even when compensated) but we all have our own dreams, pastimes, passions etc. and nice when each person in the relationship feels fulfilled and happy like clams ❤

If he wants to be involved as a hobby, great- but focus on doing maintenance tasks like doing the dishes- most days you guys can split that up like he cooks you clean or vice versa- but a few times a week you guys could do the cleaning and the cooking together (as an example).

I grew up in Palo Alto, California in a neighborhood that was a mix of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese, it was so fantastic because we all learned each others "slang" and could tease each other in 4 or 7 languages! The best friends I ever had. I miss them so much. When i moved to Texas i moved into a old neighborhood that was all Mexican and Spanish. My mom was half native American Indian and my dad was French Canadian! It was a massive melting pot that taught me so much about life, traditions, kindness and humor, I feel endlessly fortunate and I think you are too, because you were brave enough to take chances on another life, and explore your talents.
