It’s the blowout sale, and the rule is that consultants can only sell the sale dresses, not the ones in the back. However, when the owner tells Randy to bring a dress from the back, it causes friction with the other consultants. #SayYesToTheDress

At the end of the day, the entrepreneur who owns the business gets the final say...sometimes, as an employee, you have to be flexible, diplomatic,, ,courteous and roll with it.....but if you get in the owner's way, he might let it go once, but you won't always have a good outcome. You are working for the paycheck that he signs.

I know Ronny owns the store, but he is making so much hassle for his managers - THEY are the ones who will have to deal with customer complaints! I work in retail (not bridal) and I can understand why the managers are naffed off!

Family / privately owned businesses tend to have this challenge very often, because they run it like they run their household so employees have to deal with office politics on top of family politics. At least it looks like Ronnie hasn’t stationed his kids in sales roles or as store managers, so his staff don’t have to participate in any family feud while juggling clients’ demands and the impulse instructions from the boss :)

@@MsWinterlife So true. I worked in a multi-generation gents clothing store and there was a constant battle between the retired former owner who was about 30 years behind modern trading conditions and the manager about how the store stock should be organised. It was a constant mess as things were organised into ranges to merchendise, he would come in and reorganise everything into size so it looked like a permanant sale on the shop floor. He would even discount everything to stupid prices then pay the difference with his own card so his son (the owner) wouldn't realise what he had done to make the sales - he had to have the most sales each day to prove he 'still had it'. The current Owner just shrugged it all off and wouldn't step in. It was a nightmare!

This is what sales is like. The boss rules. If you as a manager toe the line and then the boss overrules it you have to suck it up. He signs your paycheck, just like Randy said. There's times when you have to keep quiet and just follow the boss. Tomorrow is another day. That said, the boss better not do this very often or he will lose staff because of that ongoing cognitive dissonance that eats your soul.

    • @catladyfromky4142
      @catladyfromky4142 5 месяцев назад +14

Exactly. He caused chaos and made the store sell fewer sample dresses that day. That was the whole point of the sale in the first place.
He is the boss. What he says goes. But he should have thought to change his decision when more staff came to him to question him.

    • @vlsice2024

Yeah, but I wondered did they give her the dress at a discounted rate I think that’s what everybody is kind of wondering because it was supposed to be a blowout sale and only the discounted dresses were on sale. That’s reason they put their regular stock away and we’re not supposed to be Trying on if they wanted to try on regular stock. They would’ve actually had to come back and make an appointment it’s not fair on all day sale on for reduced wedding dresses and a bride wants to try on regular stock that is not on sale. You’re the bride up for disappointment unless that bride is willing to pay regular price reason she’s at the sale is because she wasn’t Prepared to pay for trying to get a deal what she’s gonna do is what try to bargain down the price

As long as u make decisions based on what’s most important to the company ur working for along w/ being practical & using common sense. Ur boss won’t be there all the time; so it’s important that u naturally become a leader instead of being the employee that doubts themselves 🤷🏼‍♂️

Then the other 23 consultants get confused. Then the made to order merchandise gets mixed in with the sample sale merchandise. Then brides will mistakenly think that they will be able to take the new dresses home with them.
Knowing that the sample sale's real purpose is to remove the old stock so that they have room for the new stock coming in, how is this helpful?
Face it. The owner saw one pretty girl and decided to break the rules even though she could have found a sample dress to buy. His one decision confuses the staff, confused the brides, and made the store sell less of the old stock.
      He messed up.

@@jenniferfitzgerald1796 rubbish. The correct thing to do is invite them back for a private consult. Only a moron turns up to a blow out sale wanting a private consult and non sale garment.
All buyers in that store are likely not repeat customers. She was even a high value sale! All he did was set a precedent for choas in every sale to come having that broadcast.
Look on the review apps, plenty of unhappy customers in private consults. No need to cause chaos on a high volume, LOW COMMISSION day for the staff. The base wage there is shit, it's the commission that makes it worthwhile.
Very poor of him to show favour to the customer and that consultant with his actions.. Disgusting to speak to his manager in the was he did.
The staff are taking one for the team on blow out sale days. They are barely earning.
Looks like TV wannabes turn up now looking to get airtime, rather than real brides or bridal shop owners looking to replenish on the cheap.

@@rayaqueen9657 Just because they never showed how disgruntled the others were (people most likely to be fired, so protected by the editor) doesn't mean she wasn't having to deal with them. In fact, if want happening she wouldn't have been annoyed. She's a top manager, they don't get ruffled for no reason. The other manager had been plagued by demands to be treated fairly by the consultants too. That was clear from her comment.
Stupid old man felt his balls tingle. Blow out sales are getting less popular, there's more than one episode reporting that.

It’s a rule that can be bent and should be to make a sale lol. I hate when you go to places like that and they act like yazis. I’ve been in high end hospitality for so long and you do what you can to accommodate especially when they’re spending $$$.

That last dress...not my style, but she was thrilled with it, so I'm happy for her. I don't think that strap-wrapping is well placed. It makes the boob area look weirdly off to me, and I'm eclectic from here to eternity, so if it looks weird to ME, she must have a fascination with a particular time period, as something like that, that would make sense to me, as to her style likes.

LOL. The purpose of the sample sale is to get rid of the old stock because new stock is coming in. All the samples are last year's dresses.
So now he confused all the staff, confused the brides, made it harder to put the dresses back in the correct places, AND sold less of the samples. For one pretty girl he wanted to bring home with him - who could have bought a sample dress like every other bride there.

Devil's advocate: the boss isn't there to give his staff an easy time, he's there to make money. Yes, it caused one further problem but tbh the managers all running around, tattle telling to each other for a whinge session like teenagers rather than just getting on with it made everything worse. Just sell whatever dresses however you can! If one or two dresses have to go cheaper than "allowed", then just go ask the boss what to do, he set the example.
